Honestly this lucky looter run may be the closest you have ran a “realism” challenge in the sense that in reality almost nobody knows how to *actually* do all the crafting. If I woke up in a 7 days to die world (god forbid) I wouldn’t be able to craft hardly anything to begin with as it is! Great vid 🍻 cheers!

I always keep a stack of scrap polymers on me because they're so often found in loot and you can break the cardboard stacks to get even more which are in almost every POI before you know it you've got quite a lot of money worth. Also iron is good for repairing/upgrading POI iron doors to slow the zombies down

Glock has a special ability to make this game not be stale. Been watching for around a year and the content is always unique. Would love to see some mods like weapon expansion 4 and Bdubs vehicles to allow for even more fun. Keep it up G9!

This run is what most urban people would go thru in an apocalypse. Most can't even build a fire, let alone find water or even food. Forget making a spear/knife out of flint and how many can operate a firearm? I'll be forever grateful for the Army and growing up spending summers either with my hillbilly cousins who pretty much lived off poaching small game or on our land in Colorado. You're gonna have a hell of a time this run, can't wait to see the results, lol.

I tried a variation of the 'no crafting run' many years ago with one little twist. I thought it would be silly to not be able to boil water or cook meant and that led to my game which was "I can only do things that I could do in my real life". I might not be able to put together a car or a gun but I could most certainly make a campfire and cook food (I'm from New Orleans where cooking is more natural than breathing), I could make a club or basic armour (cloth or leather), I could make a spear but not a bow (at least not a good one worth using for hunting). I gave up after about a week because I just couldn't stand being in a 'survival horror crafting game' and not craft. That being said, I am here for seeing what you can pull off. Also, when I tried it, there were still usable workbenches and cement mixers in the world...

At the start of the episode, you didn't take the iron, and your reasoning for it was that you didn't have any scrap iron armour to repair just yet, then you loot a car, find cloth, and take it so you can repair cloth armour when you get it, I find that hilarious 😂

Quite the twist, no crafting. I was playing a total DIY challenge (including food, no eating looted cans and such). Was pretty difficult early on, but got better once a pot was made. This challenge? Yikes! Looking forward to see how this works out. Keep up the great content!

If you're allowing yourself to repair, you can keep the piped for any pipe weapon you find.

You might want to collect the scrap iron (and iron bars) just to repair existing metal doors in a pinch. On occasion I have looted metal doors from "Working Stiffs" boxes and you mentioned upgrading is ok yes? Looking forward to more Lucky Looter!

The nails would've worked as ammo for a nailgun, so you could use them. Also leaving the acid in that warehouse around 5 minutes - probably should've taken and sold that. Generally alot of stuff you left could've been sold, just not as profitably as schematics and tools and stuff. Interesting series, I'll follow this.

Plastic parts might be worth grabbing to sell. Large stack size, decent value, and common. Plastic barrels and garbage cans are 1 tap with an ax for 8ish parts so 30ish coin per swing.

One thing to be careful about is paying attention to the Final unlocks for certain perk book collections. For instance, Batter Up has 3 books for crafting, and the final unlock for all 7 books read is power attack kills refilling stamina which is pretty good.

I have been waiting for this one. You could also try a series where you do the opposite. See how much you can survive with no looting, only disassembling, and harvesting resources. Using the trader should be allowed though.

I like this concept for a series. It's going to prove to be a real challenge later for food and ammo. My only question is - why not collect electrical and mechanical parts? In my early game, I gather everything to sell or scrap for repairs of the crappy weapons and armor. You're gonna need a shit ton (that's a lot) of dukes since you can't make anything.

For anyone watching and thinking that room is 'safe', the zeds can path right to it from the roof. Also, Open Smash Shut is a challenging game now that 'stuns' cause the zeds to move toward you.

Fair game, but also pretty useless unless I need iron, cloth or leather to repair stuff. Leather does sell for a good amount though, so I guess scrapping leather stuff makes sense.

Oh this is gonna be so good. I've done this challenge before and I had a blast! There is a significant amount of thought you have to put into raiding a POI because sometimes the loot isn't worth it. So instead of going in guns blazing as you usually do, you really have to mentally weigh the pros and cons. Next you should do a combo of no craft and ramblin man. I'm doing that now and it is like I'm playing a whole new game!

My thoughts about iron is that a 6K stack sells for a good amount and also gives the ability to repair many items like gates etc. Interesting playthrough, nice idea. destroying nests around the trader should respawn in the same area with hopefully eggs. if you leave them they stay static. Im pretty sure about this. And Id go for the crossbow, Bolts are everywhere. Good Luck ! I've tried this, it a hard end game.

You're having the exact opposite problem I had with this challenge. I found two weapons on day one: a pair of lv 3 leather knucklewraps and a lv 1 combat knife. However, I couldn't find an axe for the life of me until day four, which made breaking into crates a very slow process.

Crafting I understand. But everyone knows how to cook. You should be able to use the camp fire at the trader to cook food. I'm excited to see how this series goes. It's very realistic.

I love this series! I tried a series just like this but ran out of ammo on my second horde. I wasn't allowed to upgrade blocks or dismantle anything tho which kinda fkd me over in the long run.....I'd defo crank the loot up a notch if you dont get lucky finding a good melee weapon

This is how I mostly play as I rely on looting and traders but to go with ZERO crafting will be a challenge. I also play on survivalist BUT I tend to use the head shot mod to even it out a little bit so that if you are not accurate they will be sponges and also they deal more damage.

Hey Glock, you got back from question with your backpack pretty empty, you should try selling pipes. nail, and car parts and so. Those can stack a lot and give a nice amount.

when you do a no trader run you should also make it so you can't put points into perks that allow you to craft things without first reading the book to unlock them. makes it much harder, especially finding things like the crucible and such.
