I’ve seen a series these guys set up the same thing with the elevator and it went reeeal bad. A few zombies went through the garage but the majority dug through ceiling of the cave and rained down. It was awesome, but they dead.

i once saw a friend make a triple bird cage in a big cave system like the bat cave and put traps around the ceiling and waited for the zombies to dig, once they do he stays in the bird cage and kills them all, once thats done he simply makes the hole they made the "new" elevator route^^

Honestly, screw the people that said putting down a frame in a doorway is "cheating". It's not cheating, it's fortifying! It's a perfectly legitimate way to protect your back. Some people blow everything out of proportion or just need to find a reason to bitch and whine about something. Get yourself a reinforced club or a baseball bat as soon as you can, you'll like the hit box much better. The baseball bat is the shit, it has a longer reach and is my favorite melee weapon.

The reason they gave for changing the gardening was that they wanted to simplify the gardening process. Except it's a lot more complicated now when you have to gather a bunch of resources and craft the boxes of soil. So it's a nerf where they try to pretend it's a boost.

I like the idea of developing some checkpoints for hoard night down in the batcave, the Elevator shaft be the first line of defense and then fall back as the night progresses. Having a Junkie be at each checkpoint would be dope too, ideally 2 with extended mags and Rad scrubber lol.

Just an FYI, using the power attack (right click) on the wrench is a much faster way of breaking down cars and other things. I've tested it and the power attack gives the same exact xp and resources as using the regular wrench attack (left click) even though the animation changes so it doesn't seem like you're wrenching it for parts. It also uses a ton less stamina than most other weapons/tools power attacks do.

There is a benefit to the new use of Farm Plots; that the seeds remain after harvest, providing an endless supply of food, whereas the old farming method required you to find or craft more seeds after each harvest. While more complicated now, I do like that once you plant you can harvest them every day or so forever.

While I am watching, I am thinking this is a cool house and series, but I do not love the winter biome. I think it would be cool if they added a terraform feature. Maybe planting trees and creating an artificial lake in the dessert or burnt out biome would cool it to a grassy biome. One might build a very large machine that would remove radiation and reduce toxic levels in the death biome. (I couldn't remember the name. It may as well be death. I hate it. And the crying babies. super creepy.) If not vanilla this idea would be a cool mod. (I wish I knew how to make mods.) Great series, love your stuff Glock. You are one of my favorite content creators!

Just a thought on the elevator shaft. You could set it up as one of those angled pits that players can climb up, but zombies cant get out of. You would then have free reign to kill them however you want, and it would probably work pretty well until you start getting demolishers.

1:03 Those green cables or pipes (depending on what your personal opinion is) to the right of you in this clip can be wrenched for parts, if you didn't know. For what it's worth, I'm currently playing a 25% xp and 25% loot multiplayer game with a friend and it's forced us to think differently on some skills. I can say getting salvaging and barter skills are good early skills if you want to make money to buy things quickly. If you go for gas monkey only go as far as the mini-bike unless you find a crucible or can buy a crucible because everything after the minibike requires steel and unlocking that through skills requires level 10 intellect which takes a long time to get if you want vehicles early. Stamina is draining fast due to all the exertion from melee. Same as if you're mining a lot. Also if you do suffer from cold it's not too bad but if it goes to freezing, that will eat through your stamina and food levels. I respectfully disagree with you about the farming. While I do miss the hoe it was way too easy to have crazy amounts of food early game before. Now I feel it is more balanced. You need to put points into the skills and gather the resources to make the plots. It's more of a pain in the ass but also leads to better game balance because of it. It could still probably use a little tweaking but I like where they are going with it. Bears be easy with a pistol my man :D

FYI: I like the bear plan. That's food for at least a few days. Just make sure they're not zombie bears! And if everyhing else fails, there's also always a couple of bears and dire wolves up by Perishton. (At least when I go there).

Sealed up that hole in the wall huh? That house flipper inside ya is itching to get out. 🤣🤣🤣 Note on the gardening, you also needed to fertilize it to get any real yields. Which took poop and nitrate powder with alot of wood for burn time and something of about a half hr to an hour to craft one piece of fertilizer. Lol so yeah, I agree with you about the gardening aspect, but lucky me...I play ps4 stuck on alpha 15. 😁

I started a navezgane game yesterday. It’s hard as shit when you spawn in the snow biome now. Died to a lumberjack on day 1, encountered 3 mountain lions, had a spider zombie raid the POI I was in over the night, and saw a bear on the way to the trader on day 2

Careful with using the elevator shaft as a drop trap or a way to lure the zombies in. The Game Society Pimps attempted that design in this POI not long ago, and the zombies just ended up beating on the walls and digging through the hill outside.

Hey Glock!! My husband's a big fan of all your 7 Days series(es?) ..lol Anyway, I have an idea if you're up for a huge challenge: 7 days to die; The "pacifist" run. Rules: You cannot personally kill any zombies. You can set traps and lay plans to lead them to kill themselves, but you cannot personally do the killing by your own hand. Including hoard nights. Refilling junky and turning on battery operated devices is okay. When you encounter zombies while out looting and scavenging you have to avoid, rather than defend. Killing animals would be allowed, but only for immediate needs. No killing them just because they were there and youd *eventually* need a supply from them.. I'd love to watch you attempt this, even if it was a short series. Let me know what you think! (I'm going to copy and paste this idea on 5 different videos in hopes that you'll actually see it. Please, forgive the spammy-ness, I just dont know how else to boost the visibility. )

Re Planter Boxes - Agreed. I hate it when games make things harder on resources by adding extra crafting, and it also takes away from immersion. If I'm trying to start a food plot, I'm not going to be using all my wood to do it, I'm just going to clear off the best looking patch of ground available.

I'm getting to this series late because I learned about it from the end of your Apocalypse 2 series. But... i do agree with the farming. Why not have both options in the game? Because loved making gardens with walkways and dividers and had it sunk into the ground. You can do it now, but its just not the same. I loved the look of the tilled dirt and had to turn dirt into fertile dirt. They could make it so the planter boxes now are compost bins which turns rotten meat into compost which you need to make the ground fertile dirt? And have a wear down or something on the dort where it only yields for so many harvests before you have to refertilize it? A way of balancing it. I dont know, but I hated the planter box and miss the garden hoe a ton!

I think the whole gardening thing, had to be changed because of performance issue, now the game just has to check for the gardening-plots in-game instead of the whole world. Also the rotten flesh makes kind of sense, think of it as fertilizer :)

Glock, check the attic above the elevator shaft. there is usually loot boxes in there. I agree that the changes to the farming were not necessary. and why the hell would you put clay soil into a farming plot??? Clay is the worst kinda material to plant in. you want rich soil, mixed with peat and fertilizer. the ashes from all that burning wood would be a great resource for a garden plot.

Plots are easy. Rotted flesh lying around in the streets to be found. And rotted flesh was needed for fertilizer in A16 to increase plot production. Finding the seeds/seed recipes is a bitch kitty during Week 1 in Alpha 18.

hey glock, i think i got a good series idea. it's a sort of VS mode. you and one other, say Cappo for instance, use the same seed, and survive on that map as long as possible, with no punches held back, everything is cool (provided it's vanilla) last man standing wins. i think it's a pretty good idea!

Just by watching you play I realised how complex the game is. A big amount of buildings are little individual dungeaons, all different in different biomes. bretty neat work. Good ol' pimps. Buried supplies quests are great for early food. Also, I would be wary of that horde set up. Sometimes they will just start digging if you are underneath them.

Hey Glock, Looking good so far. Have you ever tried to make the "hatch elevator"? It may be worth a try. I dont know the layout of the house and bunker but it would be a good escape route to the roof, or any where you wanted. Just think of it as a dumbwaiter thats broken and only works one way.

The type of zombie that did all the damage on the roof always seem to fuck me over in early game. I call them Karens, and my studies have confirmed that their "may I speak to the manager" hair grants them heightened aggression lasting beyond the grave. Armored in a sturdy layer of hair product, they can shrug off both wooden clubs and logical arguments, but it is their jagged press-on talons which makes Karens truly dangerous to uninitiated survivors..

Glock I think the reason for the farming plots is to better optimize the game. My friends and I built a rather large garden a few patches back and the game would struggle to load all of the different crops at different stages of growth. So I think it this way they have better optimized the blocks to not require as much processing power. Just a theory

I always spend the points to get ALL the vehicles as quick as I can. Coupled with lucky looter maxed I make them fast. Then after the copter is built I pop a Firgettit Elixer and spend the points elsewhere.

8:00 its not a question of speed , its a question about making your character stronger in the early game and thus making looting and fighting easier so that you lose less time kitting the zombies for 10 hours, imagine the time you save on an entiere playthrough just by not having to run around on every fight and taking 5-6 hits to kill one zombie. getting cash in 7d2d is easy asf if your not playing rambling man ;p doing trader missions the retreive supplies is good for that since i got alot of coin multiple times doing those, cars are like cash trees with motors and batteries etc.. not to mention the main loot always has stuff to sell so you can get 40k in the first week if you play effectively and have just a little luck ;)
