Try making the change on server if you haven't, or on the client if you only did server previously? :)

With the recent update to 21.1 b16 , I've found that this fails after 1 use when trying client, server, or both for the changes to that xml file (I've tested them all). It works 1 time, then it locks you out from hitting ESC and being able to quit the game. It seems like they may have moved something within the xml file , or you have to edit some other dependency to get this to work right.

It's so weird that ‹fill› and ‹clear› have been disabled, making us jump through a clicking-hoop to accomplish the same thing. I rarely use this tool, but it is nice to have available: a hand-placed POI had holes in it that couldn't be filled with anything (holes contained some invisible markers?). I used this tool to clear out the holes so I could again place blocks there.

I agree. I did some looking through the xml but couldn't easily locate where the fill/clear were, as it's not under the leveltools window code, it appears to be somewhere else. It works, but fill/clear would have been very very useful!

@@Vedui42 It's obvious that "they" have access to the tools. My guess is they can be enabled by inserting secret xml code, not changing existing code - just a guess.

You are so welcome! It's changed slightly but essentially the same., Just helped some other peoplke with it, so lemme copy and paste it here too: Line should be 4372 ... LevelTools3 ... remove the visible="{is_prefab_editor}" ...then use Z to mark pt1, pt2, hit escape, click the box outline on top right and with air in hand (or a block) click Rnd decorate Sel.

I am at a loss. I am in SP and running 21.2 b30. I have followed instructions to a T using Word++ and saving with the game not running. I do not get that menu at all. Just the menu on left with the poi stuff and the menu on the right is just god mode fly and that stuff. I see nothing showing all those wonderful looking tools. Does this not work in single player?

It works in single player too :) I've done it in the latest version. You might have to search for leveltools and find the correct line, as it shifts every version they release. But it works if you get to the correct line :)

I do not have the volume box/button on my dm menu. Running 21.1 (b16) locally, no server. Also, when trying L for Selection Fill, nothing is filling, although I do have a block focused in my tool belt that I would like to fill the selection with. What am I doing wrong?

Did you make the changes to the xml? The actual like could have changed in 21.1, as changes to the file itself does move things around :)

That is very weird. I have never encountered that particular problem. Try making say a new Navezgane test map, does this still happen?

This is cool, but how do you rotate blocks? Sometimes when I'm placing a block they're rotated the wrong way. I found out you can rotate the entire selection with the X key which is great if you need to flip the blocks, but not if they're rotated 90 degrees out. Also, if you change the shape of the block to be a different piece, it still places them as blocks because that's the default shape. How do we place the more advanced shapes like ramps, bars, catwalks etc. ?

Left click to rotate blocks :) Hold R to select advanced rotation on those shapes which allow it, not all do :)

Hmm, I tried it on client side and I don't see the icon, when I do it on the server side I see the icon but cannot click it. When I do it to both sides I can click the square but I then get an error.

That is weird. Are you admin on the server properly? I've done it this way and had no issues, though it was on the 21.1 version, not 21.2 if I recall. I'll have to retest.

Welcome! You can't as such copy and paste. You can however insert buildings if they are a properly exported POI (or part of the game POI's). I made a video of how to insert prefabs. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoeWiXWAoMRge8k might give some ideas :)

By reset zone, are you talking about a zone which will reset periodically? No such thing, unless you use third party tools. The best is to simply use the chunk-reset feature, and set it say at 50 days or something...so that every chunk not visited in 50 days will reset :)
