Anyone here in 2023, I have this base in my main solo world with 47 horde nights and it works perfectly. I've upgraded almost everything to steel to stop exploding cops from destroying it. My early base design is from 2HandGaming and is good to about week 7. Thanks Skippy for the many years of 7DTD!

Thanks for this vid. There were many lil tips that I've been needing to know. I've only been playin couple weeks an learning the game on my own, but have been avoiding hoarde nights underground, gathering resources. I'm extremely overpowered with a massive amount of building supplies an need to do some building an kill some hoardes so I can move on to random gen.

I stand corrected. On a more serious note, have you thought about evolving this endgame base design to suit the coming a15 update? Not sure how fast the console version will get the update, but Joel Huenink's intention seems to be to downgrade the op-spikes to the point where they're more like the current barbed wire fences. Could be quite a game changer

This took me forever and ever to do the digging took the longest my auger broke so I got a new one and that one broke and then I got a new auger then my game froze because my Xbox couldn't handle the auger running and the block falling down at the same time so I have to restart my Xbox then keep digging and then the dogs and zombies kept coming as soon as I started building finally finished this build by the way great build

if you use half size collums to place your spikes on it works alot better as you wont have anywhere that zombies can drop through ie corner

So I am attempting this build, and i have come across a problem. I have the pit dug out, and i am trying to do my 9x9 rebar structure. However, half of my 9x9 won't stack higher than 2 blocks. The rebar frame tips and breaks when i try to place it. It is like the south half of the build will stack 4 high but the north half won't. I don't have any holes under the frames, but i did refill in some holes that i had dug to deep. Any solutions? Should i just try again at a different location?

Calipers are found in working stiff boxes.. so you can got o a working stiff, sometimes the pas and gas will have a box in it and also there is the cell tower/power plant looking place that also usually has some working stiff boxes in them. Tool repair kits you make yourself... and tool and dye kits you also get in working stiff boxes.

Great tutorial, made the base fantastically besides the corner pieces using the 1/4 concrete blocks. I CANNOT get all four corners to work. I have two perfect and the other two look like crap. I noticed in your video it looks like at least one of your corners is all janky like mine too. I made it so that nothing can fall down the gap, but it isn't very well supported and looks ugly. Does it matter? I was afraid a bunch of zombies would get out there and break through my weak section

lol.. he used sooo much stuff.. several hundred rebar frames.. hell if he only used 300 frames your looking at 3k wood, 6k cement. OK then the pillars that's what about 240? that's another 6k cement and 3.6k STEEL bars.. lol.. I have never had anything close to this many resources.. I mean he did say he is doing multiplayer so maybe that's why.. I didn't even mention the other cement bars under the spikes ohh and the spikes themselves. this is some crazy ass shit here.

there is no way to tell you the amount, since this is a customizable build, you can make it smaller, or bigger, it's really up to you, this is just my preferred size. i didn't use 3.6k steel bars. its under 1k which is very reasonable, the only place i used steel was the pillars, each side has 27 pillars at most (you can't count the corners) which take 10 steel to upgrade. the only thing i did use a lot of was the concrete. I can have this built by day 14 on a single player playthrough easily. cause i have, many times.

I have a question Skippy. What if I don't want it to be 15 by 15 and maybe 25 by 25, will the set up still work or does it have to be 15? Because I like more room and I want to use it as another home. I like to have more then one home just in case the others get over run.

you can make this any shape and or size you wish! just use the basic pattern of the pillars and wood log spike! even the pit can be made wider if you wish.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it, they would be through it in seconds :) and than, you'll have to upgrade everything, and that is triple the cost of rebar upgraded frames :) What i always do, is a temp base in a prefab that can get all smashed up, and work on this one as i get the mats :)

concrete blocks work the same, but take 2x the amount of concrete to upgrade (10 for block, 10 for upgrade) as opposed to just 10 concrete to upgrade a rebar frame (It's cheaper) and put a roof on if ya want! thats the great thing about this design, you can make it yours.

Why use Rebar frame if you can just make the block

its cheaper to take 5 iron and 1 clay into a frame, with 10 wood and 10 concrete as filler.if you make a block, it takes 2x longer to make, and 3x the material cost. (a block requires twice the concrete, with upgrading it another time ) . stone is the longest resource to gather,and costs more in repairs on pickaxe. and to do blocks it takes 3 x the stone and twice as long to make with the machines. a frame takes a second, and the wood minutes. but with twice the mix, you have to smelt it into the forge, turn it into powder, than put it through the mixer, than in turn, into blocks, which you still have to upgrade one more time. wood is extremely easy to gather, and you get more than enough iron grinding stone. Trust me, 1000's of hours of building. it's quicker and takes less resource. I should actually do a video about it.

And remember, when you turn it into mix, you need two stones per mix. as opposed to 1 sand (which you also may have to turn from stone, which makes it twice as long in that regards too)
