We lived in Vietnam for a full year. We moved without having ever been in Asia previously...sooo, quite the culture shock, as you'd imagine. 😂 One of the best years of our lives, for sure. Vietnam..and our old home of Hanoi, in particular, will always hold a special place on our hearts. ❤🇻🇳

The ‘cruise boat was the way to go, shame you didn’t manage 3 nights to fit it all in!! And that crazy train zooming down that narrow street with cafes and people sat waiting for it!! 😃 Loved this!! 🍹🍹🍹🪱🪱🪱😃🤣🥰🙅♀️🙅♀️🙅♀️

It's good that you have returned! I had seen a documentary years ago about this street, but it was a vegetable and fruit market...is it another part of the same street or was the market converted into tourist-oriented cafes? The paradoxes of these times of mass tourism and social networks. The gondola turned upside down in Venice because people wanted to take selfies... here we have to be more careful with this train... Goodbye

You can no longer wander around due to something a foolish tourist did a while back. That's why a bunch of people cannot just wander around anymore and have to be invited in b he cafe owners. In a way, it's safer since it limits the amount of people there and the owners keep an eye on their patrons.

Some tourists have done foolish things (probably for the 'Gram) and that's why they've had to close it down a couple of times. Now tourists cannot just wander into the most popular part, but have to be invited in by the owners as they will be responsible for their patrons vs people just wandering around on the tracks.
