When it first came out, it was called "NMR" or "Nuclear Magnetic Imaging". They changed the name to something a little more politically easy to swallow because "nuclear" might be confused with "radioactive". They also want to change the name of "Nuclear Medicine" to "Molecular Imaging" which is probably more descriptive anyway.

But wich one is less dangerous Please ?
@Kevin-gj5es4 жыл бұрын
If you have no implants or MRI compatible implants, then an MRI is safe due to the lack of radiation. When it comes to areas of the body that are not so prone to radiation, CT to is harmless.

Does anyone know what the dB level is from the sounds of a CAT scan?
@MrMikeyx0076 жыл бұрын
I believe they're both bad I went through a CT scan and for two days was sick in the bed or couldn't do hardly anything recently my doctor suggested MRI I looked into MRI they use magnets well you know what other Appliance uses magnets a microwave so you be the judge if you want to put yourself in there these doctors aren't telling you what you're getting yourself into but just standing there and saying will he do it

Michael boyd microwaves don’t use magnets? They use microwave waves! Not RF and magnets! Idiot

1. MR scans are noisier. 2. MR scans take a lot longer. 3. MR scans are a lot more expensive. 4. MR scanners are usually a lot closer to the patient's body. 5. The people who do CT scans are a lot funnier.

6. Ct Scans emit DANGEROUS ionizing Radiation. 7. MRI is funner for the body.
@Cazanu4174 жыл бұрын
@@ellitestar welp the space emits dangerous radiation,no really for example flight crew get on average a head ct scan for every single year they work and is usually over 20 years and they are still doing it or peopme in denver get like an extra head ct scan every year of their life just for living at a higher altitude,if you got hit by a baseball in the head and you got brain bleed id rather get that ct scan than worry about an small theoretical risk of cancer later

These are very stupid arguments. A CT is never as meaningful, high-resolution and useful as an MRI.
@Kevin-gj5es4 жыл бұрын
In addition, the resolution of modern MRIs is nanometers while CT remains millimeters. Measurements are always three-dimensional in an MRI. A CT only makes 3D images out of many two-dimensional images. It is not real 3d but only 2.5d
