My mother did the acquired taste thing with cilantro. She hated it and I used it all the time. I offered to make her separate dishes (we lived together) but she didn't want me to do that so she kept trying to eat it until she actually liked it.😂 I lost her to breast cancer in October but I have a lot of memories of my wonderful Mom.😊

That is a LOVELY memory of your mom. I'm glad you have it! I have not had the same luck with cilantro yet. It doesn't taste like soap to me, like it does for some people, but it's still not my favourite. However: I still put it in guacamole every time because it's just not the same without it!

I buy these Droppies from Holland in the form of licorice Mentos. I am a bariatric surgery patient and sometimes have nausea when my stomach pouch gets dry. I eat a couple of these to get rid of the nausea so I can tolerate drinking enough water to moisten the stomach. They work so much better than taking a medication and dealing with drowsiness from that. I don’t have to worry about nausea while I’m at work because I eat a couple Mentos instead of taking the Zofran.

I'm so glad you can help yourself in that way. I don't think I've seen licorice Mentos here but if they exist anywhere, it would be Holland!

I always love the chatty chats! So, funnily enough, I gave birth to my son in France, and I lived there for a few years, but he was raised here since he was 6 weeks. And I have always raised him eating real, regular food. I never did "kid food". And I restricted sugar. He didn't even have juice until he was 2, because I saw no health benefit and I knew once he got a sip of it, he would buck at water. He has always eaten all the vegetables, quinoa, fish, meats, etc. But, ironically, it is his French cousins that have been raised more like the stereotypical Americans and refuse to eat anything but buttered noodles, won't eat veggies, eat 6 ice cream bars a day, etc, which is extremely unheard of in France. But my son definitely gets to eat like a King when he's in France and I miss the food so much. Anchoiade (homemade fresh anchovy garlic spread) was my favorite pregnancy food.

Do not use metal in your honey. It will neutralize the natural antibacterial properties. Have you ever put chia seeds in your energy bites? I use a similar recipe with cacao nibs , crushed nuts (almost like a powder texture) crushed flax seeds and chia seeds. I cut mine into bars and out the door they go. The chia seeds will fill you up really good.
