QOFD: I have been dancing for almost my whole life, and I do one thing that I swear by. It might seem stupid but hear me out. I have a playlist called "choreo" filled with songs that already have a dance to it (or if you like making your own dances, songs that you want to make choreography to as well). I listen to it a lot, and when I do, I imagine myself dancing, or at least imagine what I want to look like dancing to it. It helps your mental mind prepare for what you want to be/do, and then you can work on preparing your physical self to do it. Hopefully this helps!!

for qotd: pls warm up and stretch! i often see ppl bragging that they dont need to warm up or stretch before dancing, yes u do!! pls warm up before stretching they have so many benefits. u'll look better when u dance, ur muscles wont be as sore the next day, ur less likely to hurt urself, etcetc. and also when ur learning a choreo it might be hard to see how well ur doing in a mirror when ur head is constantly moving so i recommend also recording urself to see what ur doing right and wrong and what u can fix. practicing in a mirror helps but practicing in a video helps too! edit: u can delete the video afterwards but i think it would be beneficial to keep it so u can compare it to a video u take after making adjustments to the way u do the choreo, that way u can see if uve improved or not, it helps me a ton and boosts my confidence and a boosted confidence helps u to perform smoother and have a somewhat better stage presence

Honestly I prefer using dance practices than using tutorials because for tutorials some dancers cut off some movements and you don’t actually get to learn the actual dance but their version of it

Tip from me would be to make sure that you are putting enough energy into the choreos from the start cuz I had that problem in fact I didn’t start dancing with mirror and bcz of that I started putting to much energy without knowing how it looks like so yeah make sure to get used to mirror at first cuz even after like 4years of dancing It still feels uncomfortable to dance in front of it for me

I’m 18, turning 19 soon and I’m just starting to audition, it’s alright as long as we have the talent & charisma they’re looking for! Also, I’ve found that whenever I have to go on stage/present, it’s way less scary than we imagine. Just pretend you’re in front of your mirror at home and give it all you’ve got!

This video was so helpful thanks!!! This was exactly what I needed. But I do have a question. What songs and dance styles go with kpop the best. Because I’ve been a dancer sing I was 3, 14 as of 2024, and always tend to lean towards the ballet genre. I know ballet isn’t very kpop-y and isn’t typical for auditions. But I have experience in hip hop and don’t know which song might go the best with kpop and what most companies are looking for in dance. Edit: I also am absolutely trash at improv and definitely need tips on that since I’ve seen a few videos that have said auditions have improv in them. Any tips about it would be greatly appreciated thanks!!
