Some heroes (or anti-heroes) aren't seeking to be heroes, but destiny just keeps getting in the way. Here are 7 careers that got cut short so that these people could murder all the bad guys (or sometimes good guys - looking at you, Jane).

He went from cop into private sector willingly, "i never asked for this" is a response to a question that amounts to "Do you feel good about the fact that you are now Robocop?". Plus despite the fact that this line was in every trailer it wasn't an automatic line, at the players discretion you could also go with "it felt pretty good" or the neutral "i'm still getting used to it, but the extra abilities did come in handy". Jensen isn't necessarily a downer if you don't want him to be.

Fallout New Vegas- Sometimes, a courier's route gets a surprise detour. Payday 2- Who would've thought a bank manager would turn out to be Dallas, one of the most wanted bank robbers? Shadow Warrior- Wang just had to get a sword for his boss. Seems simple enough, but things take an unexpected turn when demons from another realm find their way into the mix of things. Transistor- Red was a renowned singer, but after an attempt on her life, she loses her voice. Now with only a huge sword as her guide, she must stop the corruption her society faces. The Borderlands series- All anyone wants to do is find treasure on another planet. No one expects to get sucked into revolutions, stopping ancient alien secrets falling into the wrong hands, or helping a man gain the power he needs to set his plans for total domination into motion. SPOILERS FOR CONTRAST Contrast- As a magician's assistant, you don't expect to be turned into a little girl's imaginary friend to help her handle her family issues.

Well, Ezio went from lobbing rocks at rival nobles to murdering, Connor went from hunting to murdering and Arno went from swiping floors to murdering. The only exceptions are Altair and Shay, who spent their entire lives murdering, and the Frye twins, who start out murdering and end up maffia-bossing.

Fallout 3 you take the GOAT to be assigned a job in the vault, but leave after your dad. Metal Gear Rising Revengeance you start off as a pmc bodyguard. Darksiders your job as a horseman of the apocalypse got a little screwed over. Dishonored starts you off as a bodyguard Dante's Inferno you're not exactly going on any crusades anymore. Ratchet from Ratchet and Clank was originally a mechanic. I could go on, but you should totally make a follow up fan video.

The Warden in Dragon Age Origins? No matter what background you choose there's a series of unfortunate events that will eventually make you get recruited into the Grey Wardens, even Alistair was supposed to be a Templar. Almost every Earthrealm character from Mortal Kombat, Johnny Cage went from an action movie star to full time defender of Earthrealm, Kabal and Stryker were cops, Sonya and Jax were Special Forces, Scorpion was just the Grandmaster of the Shirai-Ryu until Quan Chi killed him, his entire family and clan then he eventually became a spectre of the Netherrealm. The only Earthrealm warriors who were meant to be there it seems is Liu Kang and Kung Lao.

Every time that pesky destiny of his pokes its head 'round the door, it's always interrupting whatever nice quiet life he'd had planned -- whether that's a goat-wrangling ranch hand in Twilight Princess, an aspiring guardsman in Skyward Sword, a railway engineer in Spirit Tracks, or just a semi-professional layabout and/or amateur pictographer as seen in Wind Waker and others. what about courier 6 from fallout NV he was a courier with the Mojave express before getting shot in the head twice by a 9mm toting casino boss for a glorified poker chip in a graveyard overlooking a small town and after that he was dug up and taken to a hack job doc who fixed you up in his home just to throw you out into a three way civil war not to mention that you have to hunt down the man who shot you and took the package that you was supposed to be delivering.

These people still had a far more coherent, straight-forward career path than I do. I had been an animal shelter receptionist(age 15-17), wildlife center organizer/animal care giver (age 22-25), retailer seller (as personal seller age 20- still am), substitute teacher (age 28- and still am as part-time), education assistant (throughout my 20s and currently still assisting individuals with their college assignments), Medical Biller/Coder (2012-2015), Paraprofessional for PVK program (2019- currently still), and currently figuring out how to obtain a certification in Funerary Director. Not bad for someone who only been around for 38 years with a list of disabilities and disorders (that is why I have very little patience for normal people who haven't done anything with themselves). I know people who are twice my age without disabilities and disorders who haven't even done half as much as I have when it comes to listing their occupations.
