Great list and fragrance list Ash! One fragrance that shocked me was Mr. Burberry Indigo. I remember when it was first released and pretty much every fragrance reviewer dismissed it pretty much right away. I love the OG EDT so I bought it anyway, and have loved it since first sniff. Honestly my most shocking was fairly recent. It was D & G Light Blue Forever. I was pleasantly surprised by how authentic and strong the grapefruit top notes is. I will be picking some up soon!

The fragrance that shocked me the most was Aramis Havana. I was eager to try it because everyone says it’s a great tobacco fragrance for cold, dark winter nights. I tried it in winter, but it just smelled soapy to me. Then I tried it in summer and that’s where it shines. It’s perfect for hot, humid days on the porch or by the pool. Now I absolutely love it!

Yo Ash I love your content! The fragrance that shocked me with the amount of compliments I received and how it projects is Prada L'Homme. Another one that shocked me was Prada Infusion D'Homme (discontinued) / Prada D'Iris Cedre which were Ok and soapy couldn't believe all the hype. Cheers!

great job again. i'm game for some more oud lol. my first foray into oud was with shaghaf oud from swiss arabian. first time i wore i thought i'd go easy with 3 sprays. huge mistake. this is one punch in the face scent. absolute beastly. 1 or 2 sprays max on me. but i do enjoy it, it is unique, and long lasting.

I was really shocked with Voyage d'Hermes Parfum because I had read a lot about i and as you said sometimes reading about a fragrance can build into a bias. What I had read is that it was somewhat floral. As soon I sprayed it in my skin I was blown away! Delicious cardamom, became my signature scent. Really would like to get into oud fragrances!

Sup Ash! The fragrance that shocked me the most was Moschino's Toy Boy. I found a small 10 or 15 ml travel bottle at a TJ Maxx and bought it. Went home, sprayed it, and my mind was blown. I didn't understand how it was so divisive. I immediately bought a full size bottle online. Great video by the way man.

The fragrance in my collection that shocked me the most was Pure XS. Within the last year I began my fragrance journey, and before that I generally had a “generic” fragrance or two from the local mall. Pure XS was one of the first fragrances I blind bought online and I wasn’t sure how i was going to feel about it. Once it arrived, I was blown away once I smelled it. I never thought I could smell something so unique and fantastic that could be worn. After that, I’ve slowly been adding more to my collection. I have yet to smell an Oud fragrance, but I would be stoked to be able to get one for myself. Thanks ash!

Aqua amara; Man i really hated this when i first smelt it. I thought the tester was bad, like a bad sour musky orange. I now own two bottles I love it so much! After five visits to retailer i bought it and is now one of my favs.

I own Vince camuto homme and terra, I guess in difference you I really like them. I’d love to try this oud to add to my limited oud collection. The one the shocked me this year was Mercedes Benz the Move, it was a really pleasant sweetness for me.

The fragrance that surprised me the most is definitely L’homme Ideal EDP by Guerlain. I definitely didn’t expect to like it as much as I do. Mainly because I had never worn or smelled a men’s fragrance that used cherry as a note.

ZARA At Dawn fragrance shocked me the most, I didn"t expect for it to perform so well. Love the smell! Like a darker, smokier, manlier Elizabeth Arden Green Tea.

Polo Green Cologne Intense. Was hoping for N updated Polo Green, one that subtly gave ode to the 80's Green-without choking the room out. Bought it, love it!!! Modern take on Polo Green but wearable. Wearing to the office tomorrow.

Toy Boy shocked me the most, as I ordered it just because I wanted the bottle design in my collection. I did not expect the dry down of this fragrance to garner the unsolicited positive attention that it does.

I was intrigued especially with the hype around it so hit the counter and and sales assistant sprayed it on card and also insisted I put it on skin also. I was blown away and the hype was real. I was impressed with the balance of spices and freshness I had to buy a bottle right away

I recently picked up a bottle of Ferragamo Uomo Limited Edition. I have the Signature per your recommendation, and love it. When I sprayed on Uomo LE I was blown away. What makes it a limited edition? Bottle design, or fragrance? Either way, it's awesome.

Tom Ford grey vetiver surprised me the most. I had smelled several vetiver fragrances and they never wowed me. Along comes grey vetiver and it has changed my opinion on vetiver and helped me discover other vetiver fragrances.

I have a great example of a fragrance that shocked me. It was hyped up a little bit and I decided to take the plunge and WOW!! The one I'm talking about is Mercedes Benz Club Black. I was expecting a nice sweet cuddly fragrance sort of in the vein of D&G The One EDP, but what I got was (sorry to say) WAAAY better!! It's smokey, woody, not quite as sweet as I thought it would be and DARK, just friggin BEAUTIFUL!! It also performs like a beast!!

Penhaligon's Castile. Bit of a newbie to the fragrance world but managed to get some free samples from Penhaligon's to get my nose on a wide variety of scents I was unfamiliar with. Didn't think I'd like a unisex fragrance which leans heavily on floral notes but I was surprised how much I enjoyed it and got a few complements to boot!

My biggest fragrance shock was Salvatore Ferragamo Subtil Pour Homme. I blind bought the EDT for it and was pleasantly surprised at how much of a fresh scent it was, with a name like Subtil I was expecting something more soapy and less citrusy. Only gripe I had with the fragrance was the poor performance but it’s difficult to find those amazing summer fragrances that also perform well so I always just went heavy on the sprays and re-applied throughout the day!

Nautica Voyage shocked me with how great it smelled for it's price. I wasn't a fan of the original so I figured it wouldn't smell as great. I was so wrong! It's a great cheapie and one of my favorite summer scents

Fragrance that shocked me the most was Encre Noire. It was first fragrance I blind bought when I started my fragrance journey and nothing really came close to it in terms of originality in perfumery (least according to my personal taste). That drydown is truly godly to me. Really digging that gothic vibe that no other fragrance really gave me (except for Montale Black Aoud). Honorable mentions are Zoologist Squid and Montale Black Aoud.

Kilian Intoxicated - I was shocked when I first tried this one. The fragrance filled me with its density and saturation like an empty bowl. Great composition, very impressed with this fragrance.

I have heard so many comments like this, so I broke down and bought it since I like alot of kilian colognes, but this wasn't great for me. It's not bad, but not great. I have alot of colognes so this would be something I'd never wear, but one day I read a comment that changed everything. I seen someone recommend layering this with Burberry London, and I thought what the heck. I love this combo so much that the price of intoxicated was worth it for this combo. Great cologne combo for cold weather. Definitely recommend

Very entertaining and informative Ash. The fragrance I was shocked about was Bentley Intense for Man; purchased it due to the hype and was very disappointed. To me it smells like sawdust believe it or not, consequently I never wear it; can't stand it unfortunately.

Prada l'homme l'eau was a shock to me at first in a bad way. I thought it smelt too much like makeup, but I had to give it a chance because almost all my buys have to be blind or based off numerous reviews from KZbin, we don't have places around here that we can sample most fragrances. anyways, then it shocked me that I started liking it whenever I wore it a couple times is smelled a lot better on my skin.

I would have to say that PDM Sedley shocked me quite a bit. Saw a lot of Sedley or Sadly videos where reviewers were bagging on it, but honestly one of the most invigorating and fresh mint notes I'd ever smelled.

I bought a sample bundle from fragrance one and I was shocked by Office for Men, I expected it to be a complete dumpster fire but it became a staple scent for me. I have tried Black Tie and No Limits, they are for sure similar, No limits being a calmer version of Black Tie.
