We need more Spirit Island Content ^^ a few suggestions: in depth strategy guides for spirits, useful extras for the game (inlay, tokens or sheets), interesting variants, fanmade spirits, lore, game reports, maybe even narrating them thematicly. I feel that there is ton of stuff you could explore for the channel. Also you might wanna check out Super Fantasy Brawl as that itches some related things to what Spirit Island does with skills and combos but obv in a very different way, much more streamlined and in shorter time.

If you would like to keep each title's overview brief, I'd recommend having a few bullet points prewritten and stick to them. It would probably save plenty of editing time.

Honestly there are loads of people who don't like Quacks that much for the same reason I do. So much luck required, and since it's such a simpel game there are barely any ways to mitigate that. 3 turns in I'm kinda bored, just going through the motions and hoping I don't get too unlucky. Recently playing a lot of Spirit Island though, very impressed with it. Pure gold is very accurate :).

Fair enough! I find the player agency to be surprisingly satisfying! but its definitely no where near something like Spirit Island! Yeah, quacks is a bit chaotic. I actually heard the Alchemists expansion actually made the game way less chaotic and lucky and I know someone who felt the same way that you did, but that the expansion fixed it for them! -evan

Awesome video man! Always great content and great production quality! Our tastes in cardboard are very similar. I too am really excited to receive my Oath copy. I had mentioned to you before, I’m a huge fan of Too Many Bones which I think you would love. You’ll be saddened to hear it just passed Spirit Island for me as my number 1 😂. Still lovveee Spirit though. Also I gave Aeons End a go. Super solid game!

Start with TMB Undertow as I did...and later ended up buying the rest, but only because it is THAT good. You can have a complete TMB experience with Undertow $90 (actually even better to start because Undertow includes the campaign component that you have to buy as an expansion for TMB). My favorite all time play solo game, but I am about try Roll Player and later this year will try your fav, Spirit Island.

With how much you love Spirit Island and the fact that you are into Skytear, if you don't know about Guards of Atlantis, I would suggest that you try the game with your friends. It's amazing. And like Skytear, the community in the official discord is really welcoming, and the game creator is really involved in it.

I played Skytear once, it was very intimidating at first, but by the end of the game I could tell it was SO GOOD! I want to play again someday for sure. I agree with all the other games too! Super excited to play Oath!

yeah skytear is a lot to take in at first! despite it not necessarily being super complicated in concept or mechanics, there’s a whack amount of things to think about as a new player! totally worth diving deep into though 😍

I was thinking of getting skytear when it hit retail but around the time another moba game was hitting Kickstarter and I heard a really good review + I liked the art style more and that's Guards of Atlantis II . I'm excited to get that one and try it out

I have both (I mean, I'll have GoA 2 when the KS will arrive in a few months :p) and play both online because of the pandemic, they are both amazing games, but really different. GoA 2 is a MOBA. Skytear is not. Even though Skytear is inspired by MOBAs, it isn't one. It is a skirmish game with deck construction (à la Magic). It is worth it to just try it, especially on the amazing TTS mod. They also released a couple of new game modes recently, one of them might help it to make the game feel like a moba (the "MOBA draft" mode, can't wait to try it). But I don't think that Skytear can come close to GoA as a MOBA game. GoA do it so perfectly. Having both in your collection is totally possible though, since Skytear is mainly 1v1, and GoA is mainly XvX (with X greater or equal than 2).

Isnt Tichu just such a brilliant game?!? It has almost as much tension as any of the most epic board games, and tons and tons of depth as well. Fantastic.

i think it’s a fantastic expansion that adds a lot more variety in general, the 5th player is a welcome addition, and the herb witches add a little more depth and i personally really like them because it just feels like another layer of pushing your luck, essentially deciding which round is the best round to use their abilities! super great expansion!

As always enjoyed the content. My constructive criticism is when it comes to your editing. I noticed it especially in the first minute, your cuts are very distracting and jolting. Your consistently cutting to different size frames mid sentence, with slow zooms mixed in. These cuts don't provide enjoyable variation, they are disruptive and distract from what your saying and lead my eyes to the edges of the frame. Throughout the explanations they were less common but in the first minute it occured ALOT. Other than that, I enjoyed your commentary and I'm excited to look into skytear and give tichu some love (i was gifted it and never learned how to play, sounds like it's worth it). So thanks for helping me thoughtfully expand and appreciate my collection! Love and appreciate the content

Hey friend! We appreciate the feedback! The cuts are often there to hide some inconsistencies in the studio (if a line was messed up or if we just rambled on too long about something). So I completely agree, sometimes that comes out a little choppier than I want it to. I have tired adding in the zooms to better hide the fact that we are cutting (kind of like a faux 2-camera setup). We are constantly trying to get better at the performance piece of recording our content so we don’t have to cut as much for sure though! Glad to hear our recommendations were worth the watch!

@@BeingFriends Totally understandable, it's not even the fact that there are cuts that is jolting, but the change in frame size during cuts. Jump cuts of the same frame would be less distracting.

@@BeingFriends I'm working on starting a channel myself, and I've just discovered and subbed. I too noticed the cuts and zoom, but in a more positive way since filming practice videos has been a challenge/learning experience. Its really hard to film without them if you are not doing long cuts or reading off a script, or have tons of b-roll. I love that you have music in the background of your videos and is something I will likely do in the future as well. Love the content (Spirit Island is ordered and on the way to my house because of you) and keep up the good work.

totally. i won’t ever even try the 3 player variant. I will say Ive enjoyed it at 5 and 6 too! (5 being 3v2 which honestly is completely fine)

the only real change is that there is one or two people extra on each time who get to help decipher the clues and takes turn giving clues! 🤷🏻‍♂️ i do think it’s still tighter and best at 4 though 👌🏻
