I took you advice and cleaned the grout (1100 SF) with peroxide and the battery operated brush. It looks so fabulous. My house is 32 years old and I don't think any of the previous owners ever had it cleaned. It was so stinkin satisfying. I'm 77 years old and pretty darn proud of myself (and my knees) for getting the job done. Thank you so much for all of your great advice.

The swedish paper towels... You wet them and wring them out really really good, give it a good hard twist ... To get out as much water as possible. Oh, and the hotter the water, the better. Now it will clean like a magic eraser! Lol

Arm and Hammer Washing Soda is a great laundry additive. Just add a quarter cup to every load of laundry. It's also used to strip laundry of residues from laundry detergent and fabric softeners. If you do a search for "laundry stripping" you'll get the instructions for hot to do it. It's especially important to do this for towels and bedding regularly, at least twice a year if not more often. Towels get very soft and absorbent after doig this, and it adds to the length of time that towels look good, and they can be very expensive to replace.

I clean toothbrushes in peroxide diluted half and half. I pour some in a shot glass and put my brush in after brushing my teeth and put it back into the medicine cabinet until the next time I brush. I keep diluted peroxide in a brown bottle. I also use the peroxide as a mouth wash. Sometimes I put my diluted peroxide on my toothbrush with the toothpaste and brush. Do not swallow it! I love Murphy's Oil for cleaning so many things and it makes the house smell good.

With the exception of window cleaner, I always use a damp cloth with cleaner to wipe down surfaces. It’s like washing anything….the little bit of water in the cloth, and even a quick wipe-down afterward with just a wet, wrung-out cloth, gets rid of the residue left by the cleaner. Just spraying, and wiping with a dry cloth will leave a film, and attract more dirt.

I always learn a thing or two…or three watching you. Plus it’s also always fun to watch you doing all the things. You make housekeeping feel like a game you play to see if you or the dirty yuck will win. The used dryer sheet hack for dusting intrigued me (but I don’t use the sheets in my dryer, but I do use them for other tasks) so I will add fresh ones for dusting to that list. I really want to get some 12% H2O2!!!! I have always used peroxide to soak and clean toothbrushes especially after any of the seven of us have had a cold or flu. And I toss out and replace toothbrushes every 3 months or even more frequently as needed. You bring me joy and smiles every time! ❤❤

Dryer sheets are great for cat lovers. When your cat rubs on your chairs they leave a film on it, a dryer sheet removes it when cleaners don't.

They have free standing laundry sinks in your big hardware like Lowe’s, Menards or Home Depot. With some creativity and splitters for water hoses you can bring water to your tub from the same source your washer uses. Hook up one of those sort of accordion drain hoses to the drain. You could drill a hole thru the garage wall and run your hose outside. En Voila!

I have a stainless steel sink that had a funky odor. I clean the sink every night so that wasn't it. No garbage disposal, so that wasn't it. Made me crazy. A couple of days later I was doing something and picked up the sink's basket strainer/drain plug. Bingo- there was a ton of crud that had somehow collected under the rubber gasket. I peeled it back and used peroxide and a toothbrush, then I rinsed it water then vinegar. No more smell but I do make sure that I peel the gasket back on a regular basis and clean it out.

A bedspread is supposed to keep dust off of the linens that end up next to your skin and especially to your eyes and nose free of dust. So use a bedspread that covers everything: the pillows, sheets and blankets. It's stylish to expose the pillows, so many bedspreads, quilts, and comforters are made sort in the length. Use the pillow sham, stuffed or unstuffed, to best cover the pillows. The best is to tilt the pillows against the headboard and put the shams against them. If you have really bad allergies, you can lay an extra pillowcase over the top of the pillow. Just remember which side is collecting all the dust. Breathe east.

When I was about 12 years old I decided to sanitize everyone’s toothbrush by putting them in a pan of boiling water. I think my health teacher talked about bacteria on toothbrushes. Well, you can imagine what happened. The boiling water caused to plastic to soften and all the bristles stuck out at a variety of odd angles. My mother was not happy that she had to replace all our toothbrushes (8) at the same time.

Think i would have sprayed the cleaner on the towel to soften it and then rubbed it on the fridge. Also, be careful with using a Magic Eraser to clean furniture. My daughter drew with crayons on a stained wooden stool. I use magic Erasers to clean my light switch covers, so I gave the stool a quick clean also. It took off the dark wood stain.

I, too, was not impressed at all with the dual tank mop bucket system. I sent the bucket to be recycled but I kept the mop and mop heads. I use the mop and heads to clean my acrylic bath tub. I rinse the mop head in the hand shower in the tub. I spin it out in my new single bucket system. Hang it up to dry and it’s ready for next time.
