A hair dresser recommended using a cheap denture brush to clean brushes and combs. It really works wonders especially on those brushes with the plastic bristles with round tips. In addition, spray the Dawn powerwash directly on the bristles and let it soak in for a few minutes before putting them in warm water. It really helps to breakdown all the oil and product buildup at the base of the bristles.

I’ve been a stylist for well over 30 years. On those combs, after soaking, you can just take a towel and hold the comb in one hand and take the towel and wipe from the base of the teeth out to the tips. Concentrate on holding it firmly while pulling out. Then go through to get anything left over.

If your drains are mostly clogged with hair, our cleaning lady uses Clorox drain sticks... 2 pack for $4. They are long enough to get to the P-trap in the sink or shower and no removal of drain plugs. How did I not know about these? I have crawled under the sink to remove the P-trap on every sink I've owned.

I had printer ink that spilled onto the carpet and it sat on it for weeks. I used Folex for the first time and was amaized. It said to spray and then use paper towels and pat it and the ink soaked into the paper towels so I kept getting another paper towel until it soaked up every bit of the printer ink. No hint of the black left on the carpet. It worked like magic.

But I was loving the Hansel and Gretel references 😊 I have been using battery operated toothbrushes for cleaning and dusting since they were invented. Tada Life made easier! I too use a rat tail comb to get out all the loose hairs in my hairbrushes. Then I use my hairbrushes to clean each other and hairbrushes to clean my combs. I can get pretty OCD with that task too!! Just curious, did you ever get those shoe polish and red wine stains out of your beautiful rug?? And if I forgot to tell you that about two weeks after I started using your method of a long handled lotion applicator successfully, I found mine!! But I thank you for coming to my rescue when I needed it and thank you for all these tips and tricks! As always you are a fun watch with your clever ideas. ❤❤❤

Did you not know that most oven doors can be removed from the hinges so you can reach the back of the oven to clean??? Open the door to the first "stop" in the hinges, somewhat of a venting position, where it is only open an inch or so and pull straight up on the door, using both hands on the sides of the door. It should slide off the hinges easily...then you can clean the door separately and simply slide it back on the hinges when done.

I have long hair and, since I brush and style my hair over the sink, for YEARS I was having to do what she's doing in this video at least every other month! It's a gross job and a bit of a pain to do. When my drain would slow down and there was even a hint of odor coming from the drain, that was my cue it was time to clean it out again. I even bought one of those long, barbed plastic sticks that are supposed to get hair out of your drain, but it didn't work very well. One day while shopping, I found a set of those little drain-shaped screens that had a screen that fit my bathroom sink drain, so took out the stopper and stored it, and put the screen in the drain. It's been FABULOUS!! I never have to do what she's doing, never have to undo the trap and clean it out, and I never have any kind of drain slow-down or odor coming from the drain! The screen catches everything, even when I give myself a haircut. I do have to give the screen a quick rinse after brushing my teeth because the toothpaste foam is too thick to rinse off by itself, but it only takes a second or two to do and it beats having to clean the stopper, the drain, and/or the trap. The set of screens also had one the perfect size for my kitchen sink and I use it all the time.
