I would love more than three domains. For me: job, side business, study, goals/habits and personal. Also would like to add Apple calendar and other external calendars (like event calendars of groups I’m a part of).

Hey Saski! Don't forget to upvote the Apple Calendar integration suggestion here: amplenote.featureupvote.com/suggestions/186888/connect-to-apple-calendar. For any other ideas, make sure to create new threads on the leaderboard, as this is the best way to centralize them and run them by the development team.

Hey Saski, good to see you around! I appreciate the example list of domains, that helps me consider whether our current setup is really sufficient for the world's most ambitious people. The general thinking of offering three Task Domains in v1 was that any more was going to start feeling cluttered on mobile. We justified this decision in part with the belief that, as long as it was easy to select and unselect tag groups, then a blanket Task Domain like "Work" can contain conceptually different projects that can be quickly swapped between. If I were trying to group the areas that you list, I'd probably start by weighing how much time will be spent in each area. Ideally you could figure out the best way to split your life into three. Aside from "Work" and "Personal," other labels I've seen used: "Weekend," "School," "Hustle," and "Hobbies." I'm not sure if you think any of those would be applicable to your items, but maybe "Side business" and "Job" could fit under "Work," while "Goals/Habits" and "Personal" could fit under "Self-Improvement" or somesuch? As our @amplenote account mentions, we always welcome votes as well if those ideas are insufficient to get you sorted.

Too bad Task Domains are connected to calendars. If you view tasks it's just an endless list unless you filter, but I don't want to filter, I want to "Chunk" That is, I want to organize tasks by group, seeing all groups at the same time. Any suggestions?

You should be able to do that using Tasks Mode and selecting various tags from the sidebar. Also, you can group tasks by note by using the triple-dot option menu in Tasks Mode.

Why not have total shown automaticaly? Makes no sense to not show something by default. Also why edit work domains in a completely separate section? Super confusing for me as a new user. Ibet you guys have a lot of dropoff right at the start.

Hi Sašo, thanks for trying Amplenote! Most people who use calendar are trying to juggle their life across multiple projects (and often personal/work tasks). We are trying to avoid having people arrive at the calendar and find every single task from every single note (which could be several thousand, if they imported their old notebook) show up in one overwhelming list. If you find any struggles in setting up your Task Domain, let us know?

@@Amplenote Hi, I have to say I agree with Sašo. The task domain function is very inconvenient and is also, in my personal opinion, a grave problem of design. For me, the key reason why I am interested in Amplenote is that we can schedule the task very easily with your calendar mode. But I was very excited to find Amplenote until I found out that I had to manually link every note/tag I wrote with a specific task domain so that they can show up on the sidebar of the calendar. This is very tiring and makes linking tasks with the calendar unnecessarily difficult - and it is especially difficult since your way of linking is to go to a separate section (of task domains) and input the name of the notes/tags one by one. What if I already have 576 notes and 49 tags? How tiring it would be to input everything one by one! Let alone that in your mobile app (at least the android app I am using now), there is no way to link a new tag/note with a task domain. In my opinion, this is a grave mistake of design, because what separates your app from others is that we can easily schedule the tasks into the calendar, but your design is exactly making the link between tasks and the calendar (and therefore the scheduling work that follows) unnecessarily difficult, which is self-sabotaging and just decreases the incentive for new users (like me) to transfer to your platform. If you must keep the function of task domains, then at least you could try to make linking notes/tags with the task domains as easy, direct, and fast as possible. For example, you can allow us to directly link a tag or a note to a specific domain when we are editing them (offer this opinion in the menu), and you must allow us to make this linking on the mobile apps. I personally prefer to let all notes/tasks automatically show up on the sidebar of the calendar, and then use well-designed filters to control what I want to deal with or what I want to show on the calendar. I do like your idea of Amplenote and appreciate your hardwork, I just hope that you can stop making it self-sabotaging.

@Amplenote As a new user, this is the same problem that I'm finding. If I don't tag or mistag, then tasks don't show up in calendar view at all. There should be a default domain that includes everything, that allows you to exclude certain tags (in my case, check lists) and then the other domains would be fine. But it's really easy for important tasks not to show up in calendar view the way it's currently set up, which is a bit anxiety provoking to be honest since I need a system that doesn't rely on my perfectly tagging in order to ensure that tasks show up where they need to.

@@drmelhopperkoppelmandac6834 Same here, new user, and the idea of having to manually input tags and/or notes is ridiculous. Surely having an option to show all is not that programmatically difficult to do. Being paranoid about tasks not showing up is not instilling trust into the system... And why on earth would a referenced note to a page display on calendar mode but not tasks on the actual note they reference if the tag or note is not in the domain, huh????????

I just wanted to quickly see all tasks on the calendar view, not intuitive at all
