7 inch Speedometer/Cluster Upgrade Ram 1500

I show you were to get parts cheap. I swap out my 3.5 inch cluster for a premium 7 inch cluster. I show you how to correct the odometer, idle and drive hours using AlfaOBD.
I also fix a "Parking Light Out" error message using AlfaObd. I have LED taillights and did not have a problem with the 3.5 cluster. After swapping to the 7 inch you either need to swap your LED lights for regular bulbs, get resisters, or program your computer with AlfaOBD. It's as simple as finding which LED bulbs you have in the AlfaOBD app, and then selecting "yes".

Nice video sir! Great call-out on the website you use. Also the splash screen can be changed to what you want to display as long as you get a 2016 and up evic.. So no need to look for a specific model of RAM. Just get the cheapest in those years. I have a 2014 7" Evic, I can't change mine... 😔

I've upgraded to the 7"evic and everything works great except I don't get the turn graphic in the evic cluster,just the numerical and written street , my truck is a 2014 with a2015 evic,what's your truck and what year cluster if I may ask? Ppl ok n Ram Forum are saying to try another cluster, some others are having the same problem, any suggestions? Thank you!

I have a 15 truck, 16 evic. If you have the turn by turn turned on in alfaobd, then I'm not sure what else to do. It should work. Maybe someone will see your post and reply with an answer.

i have a 2017 2500 diesel. like you, i have AlphaOBD, loving it so far. I have always wanted to try putting a gasser cluster in it because it does not have a DEF gauge. what do you think the likelyhood it will work? i realize the RPM range goes too high, but i dont really care about that.

You should look for 14 to 17. You can use a 13 but your tire pressure gouges will not work..

Those features wouldn't have anything to do with the cluster. Those controls are on the steering wheel. The cluster does display the current radio station or audio input.

alfaobd.com/ this is the website for alfaobd. They list some recommended BT adaptors for your make of vehicle. I use a OBDLink MX. AlfaObd is an app on the Google Play Store. Its $50 and you can make unlimited changes to any vehicle.

I upgraded to the 7 inch. I was able to program the mileage but it's not letting me program the idle and engine hours it will show 0 idle hours or 0 engine hours. Also the tire pressure guages aren't working. Any thoughts?

Did you check out 2:40 on the video? Also, not sure what year your truck is or what year cluster you're using. could potentially need a pin from the dealership to make those changes.

@@stephenduran7266 the cluster is either damaged or it's not a 2015. 2015 was the best year for programming and upgrading parts. You should not have any problems. Call the dealership with the part number, they'll tell you what year it was. If it came from a junk yard, a large number of theses clusters are not indexed correctly in their database.

It's a Rohent HD 960P Digital Wireless Backup Camera monitor for a trailer. It works ok, if you're going too fast it will skip. If you're talking about the dash cam, that's a Vava dash.

Mine didn't ask for a code. Some changes like tire thresholds require a code you get from the dealer. You'll have to go up there to prove you own the vehicle before they'll give it to you.

I got the new cluster to swap i put it in snd it's telling my i have breaklight and tag light are out but i have upgraded tag lights and aftermarket tail lights any ideas i don't have the alpha obd but my buddy has a snap on obd scanner i wonder if he could do it threw that

It's not just a code reader. The devices that can make the changes to the computer are over $1000. The app is only $50 on Google play store. If your lights are LED, you can make a change in the computer to fix the bulb out warnings.
