I dont think #2 is. When you look up articles about it. They say it is programed to move. I believe it is powered and hooked to a Computer. It weighs 45 tons...So that's a lot of energy consumption.

I find kinetic sculptures fascinating, from the first time I saw a Newton's Cradle in action. Perhaps it's because they are forever changing shape and form as they move, always something new to delight the eye. We tend to think of sculptures either being chiselled from stone or cast from metal, but this video shows that such things can be made from any material that hands can shape. And there's a good chance that people of my generation have made these sort of things without really thinking about it. I remember making Christmas decorations , so-called 'paper chains' by folding strips of crepe paper back and forth in a kind of concertina pattern which opened up to make the 'chains'. I don't know if today's children are encouraged to do such things, but if not, they've missed out on a fun activity!
