My theory is that Adolin is gonna swear the 5th ideal on the spot. He embodies the first 4 oaths of an Edgedancer already, he does not need "I will....." statements because he has already accomplished this by remembering Maya to the point that she was able to live again. He will swear the 5th with great fanfare in a a big fight scene. I hope he and Kal do it at the same time in the same scene to tear the roof of some fighty fight stuff.

I just start my reread of the 4 books totaling ~2M words. I have around 100 days. Which means I need to read at least 20k words per day. Easy.

You know, listening to people hypothesize about fictional worlds and chaacters that we are so deeply invested in (no pun intended), it made me think of something. In the Cosmere, the Cognitive Realm is created by and given definition by the thoughts and intentions of life/ energy in the physical realm. In our world, we have Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle, which proves conscious thought directly affects matter on a sub-atomic scale, and we have our knowledge of Intention and the Laws of Attraction. I often get the feeling that the amount of thought and care we give to "fictional" worlds, kind of breathes life into them for real. Not on a physical level, perhaps, but at *some* level, somehow. The more of us who give thought to these worlds, and the deeper and more passionate of said thoughts, the more potent vibrations we grant to the existence of these worlds within our collective consciousness. We already know our actual thoughts themselves (the electrical impulses fired by our neurons) have mass and vibrational frequency, no matter how infintismal, so in truth, we ARE in a way giving physical existence to these worlds simply by nature of thinking about them, because those thoughts themselves are, indeed, real and physical. Idk, I'm making a meta-physical connection here. Maybe someone will read this and enjoy the thought, or it may help their own ponderings of reality "click" to a new degree. Food for thought, eh? (I went to college for Quantum Physics and am on thr Spectrum. This is how I have always thought my entire life, lol)

yeah but that is also working under tha assumption, that he has to do that. If there is a workaround he will for sure do it. Even if not, maybe he wants to free her anyway, because her beeing dead is to hard for him to see.

Personally I like Adolin as being a normal human. In the last couple of books he has been our main viewpoint of a human trying to live in this new world of magic and wonders. I think making him a radiant kind of messes that up. Also the fact that he straight up murdered Sadeas is kind of messed up. Also I don't really forgive him for being a stuck up brighteyed noble. He doesn't really go through a lot compared to Kaladin, Dalinar, Lift, Shallen, etc. However his relationship with Maya does embody the ideals of the edgedancers. Mainly "I will remember those who have been forgotten" and "I will listen to those who have been ignored". I do like the idea of him being Odiums champion though. I think he would agree to it as a self sacrifice.

I've yet to find a Cosmere book I didn't enjoy even MORE on re-read. Then again, I've been a "re-reading" reader since I was a kid, so maybe I'm more attuned to enjoying it. But regardless, I've read each Cosmere book 4-7 times each, and every time, for every book, I've picked up on new connections, enjoyed chapters I had previously found slow/ dull, etc. If you've only read Stormlight, of all things, ONCE... Then I strongly think you should re-read the series prior to W&T.

If Dalinar does become Honor then his very first vision that instructs him to, "Unite them." Would have more implications than simply uniting everyone to fight in the Final desolation. Unite the shards of Honor. Unite them, restore Honor to Roshar

Here's a theory for you. Renarin will say more words and will evolve his future sight so that he can use stormlight to the exact same effect that am allomancer has while burning atium and he will become an unstoppable warrior.

that would be awesome, we also know (SPOILERS FOR STORMLIGHT 6-10) That he will be one of the main characters in the back half. Him beeing the unstoppable warrior would be such a character arc, considering where he started

21:00 those are midnight essence, from tresses planet, i cant remember the name of the planet. and Sanderson also not gonna move back in time for the next series, its gonna move forward like mistborn

Yes and no. It is midnight essence. But in spren form. It was released by one of the Unmade, the Midnight Mother (Re-Shephir). This was also the unmade that had lived at the siblings pillar and was driven away by shallan in Oathbringer. So yes, we got all the explanation for that. PS: The Planet from Tress is called Lumar and the midnight essense there is the Aether form of the same concept.

Idk why everyone believes a new oathpack would work. A desolation could have started after book one. The ever storm was an end round the pack. They would need to stop the ever storm and recreate the oath pack.

yeah and we know the oathpact is not really a lorm term solution, considering the people going mad after a few hundret years. But there was always the Idea, that the good guys lose in book 5 and all they can do is create a shitty new oathpact that will stop the fused for a few years. this would also explain the time gap between book 5 and 6 (around 10-15 years)

Great video! Ive been re-listening to all the Sanderson books again on audiobook. If you're looking for good summaries, the Coppermind and the 17th Shard are the big fan sites that have really great summaries and synopses of the books for catching up. It's a big undertaking but these books are so great!

In preparation for book 5, I listened to Mistborn Era 2, Warbreaker, and ALL the Stormlight audiobooks again. Warbreaker was SO much better on a second read. I need to hit up The Reckoners again. Reckoners was my first Cosmere series and I was so confused at the end. I bet it would make more sense now that I'm caught up.
