As someone who listened to the audiobooks before reading, I’m over here gasping at the pronunciation of some of these names. I will live and die by Michael Kramer’s pronunciations (audiobook narrator for those who don’t know). Even as I read the books now, his voice lives in my head. Amazing content, thank you!

@Bookborn If you had done it by just recapping the biggest plot points but in more detail, a few folks might come away thinking they 'knew enough to get by.' This way, though, only people who have some memory of the books are going to be able to follow what's going on. And they get reminded of far more events, too! I'm looking forward to the 135 minute version before book 10. ;)

@@ravhanna Not really though. The audiobook pronunciations by Kramer/Reading is the correct way, as they're obviously checked/approved by the author. Any other pronunciation is wrong. She really should have listened to the audiobooks to get the correct pronunciation. Audiobooks way better experience than reading anyway.

I like that you also say AH-dolin. I never understood AY-dolin, because every other Alethi name in the Stormlight Archive the A sound is pronounced AH (not AY) - Kah-lah-din, Jah-snah, Shah-lahn, Dah-lin-nahr, etc. So even just using basic phonetics within naming conventions, it makes much more sense that his name is AH-dolin. but c'est la vie hah

That's the way i always said it. But i recently watched Sanderson talking at a convention and he was talking of A(y)dolin and i got confused and lost before i realized who he was talking about... I'll probly continue with A(h)dolin by instinct though

Neither Kaladin nor Dalinar has an “ah” sound for the first syllable lol. I mean I’ve never heard them pronounced that way! It’s an in-between short A and long A sound, idk what it’s called. Like Kal like in “calorie”

7:13 I remember getting so emotional at this moment (The moment imaged not what she is recounting verbally) reading the book. Syl standing with Kaladin trying to part, or hold back, the winds is just so sweet that it makes me tear up even now. I don't really know why. There is a similarly beautiful moment with a character called Breeze in the Mist Born series. I wonder if any of you remember it. Without any spoilers it is when he is consuming something to his detriment for the benefit of others and I just get choked up about it every time I think about it.
