Been on at at least a dozen repositioning cruises - mostly Celebrity and Holland America. It's extremely relaxing, there are no kids. Amazing what the cruise line can come up with to keep you busy and engaged on sea days. They have a couple of thousand captive people with nowhere for them to go..... The more premium cruise lines offer amazing enrichment lectures as well as bringing special guest lecturers from a huge variety of backgrounds and areas of expertise/knowledge. I've met astronauts, adventurers, novelists, musicians, actors, politicians - people I would never had an opportunity to meet up close and personal. And that's the other thing - they are all around the ship as just another passenger. They are approachable and eager to share.

I did a pair of them and saved major $$. One way air fair can often cost as much as a round trip and sometimes even more than the cruise. So I booked two repositioning cruises, one Santiago, Chili to Miami and one Miami to Santiago, Chili. They were about 6 months apart. Being repositioning cruises they were cheap, buying the round trip air ticket, was like having a free flight.

What a great idea! Thank you for posting it - this way you get two fantastic cruises at rock bottom prices, and the airfare is reasonable instead of ruining the great deal on the cruise. Thank you again.

Repositioning - absolutely love them. We use them to sail to Europe and really enjoy the relaxed feel before full days of exploring cities in Europe. No jet lag as the time transitions one hour at a time.

A. Did the celebrity constellation repositioning Cruise last year that you citted on today's video and I absolutely loved it as the ship was only half full I was able to do the bid upgrade to a aft family veranda and I was traveling solo it was fantastic and I loved the sea days miracle of miracles there was no journey bad Atlantic Ocean to suffer through it was perfectly calm and traveling west to east the sunset off of the balcony was just amazing everyday plus the people were just amazing as well never felt alone when I ate in the MDR and no I didn't put up the upside down pineapple on the cabin door even though that cab and I had was a popular spot for the lifestyle folks. 🤣

We did a 16 night repositioning cruise on Radiance of the Seas in Oct 2024 from San Pedro, California full transit through the Panama Canal ending in Tampa. Everything about the cruise was AMAZING from the itinerary, the food, the 8 ports of call and RC is the best cruise line we’ve cruised with so far. All of the crew were absolutely amazing, very friendly and helpful. If there was anything we needed or didn’t like, they were more than happy to help. Just the whole atmosphere and fellow cruisers was fantastic. Our ports of call where: Los Cabos, Mazatlan, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama Canal (1 full day), Colon Panama, Columbia and Grand Cayman. We live in eastern Canada and because of the 4.5 hour time difference we choose the furthest port to embark. We had 16 nights to get over any jet lag but fortunately didn’t experience any. I booked this cruise about a year in advance and got the cruise for half the price that it was selling for later. I always use vacations to go to search my cruises because I can search by soo many options, especially by CAD but I always book directly with the cruise company online or by phone. Thank you for this video, it’s very informative, as is all your videos. Have a great day. We are doing a 14 night cruise from Barcelona to Port Canaveral in October 2025 on Carnival Mardi Gras. We have 2 ports in Spain, (Malaga and Seville), Canary Islands and Celebration Key, Bahamas. We are flying direct from Newfoundland to Gatwick, England for $400 each CAD from there to Barcelona. We may go for 2 weeks before.

You mentioned at a lot of the cross transatlantic ports in Spain and Portugal. That is correct however people might not be aware that these are often the Atlantic Islands belonging to these 2 countries. Those ports are more difficult to get to from the mainland and as such more interesting. Especially for Portugal being the Azores Islands and Madeira, while for Spain it is the Canary Islands. This is similar as for the US, being Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands.

A. We've done several and doing an interesting one on Carnival Mardi Gras in Sept with 14 days from Port Canaveral to Barcelona with several stops, then returning to US 20 days later on the same ship. We love that we can have lots of time to enjoy the Mardi Gras ship and it's restaurants plus time in Europe to explore multiple locations by train. Usually Carnival sends ships to Europe for updating the ship but leaves it in Europe for several months before the ship returns to the US.

Outdoor decks were closed and the captain announced “ the trip was intense” . There were vomit bags stations all over the ship. Walking was a challenge and your water glass on the Lido had white caps. 😅first time I did not book my next cruise on board.

My question is since I hate flying, where can I locate dry dock sailings to schedule with a repositioning cruise so I don't have to fly. Example, Princess going to Civitavecchia from Port Everglades and Royal Caribbean coming out of dry dock close to that, maybe Germany, and returning to Miami 5 days later.
