Another tip: coconut oil is really effective for loosening up matts. I have a cat with long fur and he matts up every summer - BIG hard matts. I rub some coconut oil on them near the skin for a couple of days and it loosens them up enough to remove them, and some just pull off brushing. I'm working on a huge matt under his chin now where the fur is the longest - like a lion mane - and it's working. Will take a couple more days. Bonus - when he licks is, he ingests it too! Always use Dr. Johns' remedies and use many. 😻 just one cat's opinion :)
@jeanmorell19474 ай бұрын
Also always shave and clipped spot clean it than use iodine or choxetine 1 tsp cup of warm water wash down than dry up or blow dry apply either warm up coconut oil or fragment coconut oil almond oil let dry put ecollar on fur baby or suit. I was listening to vet at Banfield I already knew it! How about Doctors jones address how get stinky perfume off cats from vet assistant? Put cat in there sure miss Murray

@@katiehowell1058 I hope it helps for you. Be patient! - and be consistent. It takes time and ain't pretty (oily fur) but it brushes out in a few days and kitty likes the taste - even my finnicky cat who hates everything.

@@yooperlooperI’m able to be patient luckily. It took me two weeks to slowly remove several huge matts from my male cat. I would work at it a little each day until I could finally brush or cut it off. I am looking forward to trying the oil.

@@katiehowell1058 My cat Tuketu's matts under his chest are so big that I'm thinking of cutting some of the 'mass' off then keep massaging the oil at the base where it's pulling on his skin because what I've been doing for the last couple days has worked well, I can feel that they are loosening up but I really don't need to be putting all the oil on the blob that doesn't matter. More comfy for Tuketu also. Let me know how it works for you. Cheers!

Kitchen first aid staples in my home: turmeric , cayenne, Manuka honey and bandages ... oh- and castor oil. If I cut myself or one of the four leggeds has a wound- turmeric or cayenne ( whichever in I grab first), a q tip, and Manuka honey. To stop the bleeding fast, sprinkle the turmeric or cayenne on the cut. Then with the q tip get honey on it and bandage. After the initial tending to the wound, when the bandage needs changing, dip the q tip in some honey, then dip into the turmeric or cayenne... allow a nice ball to form on the q tip and then Drop a few drops of caster oil on the honey spice ball and then apply to the wound. Bandage - this will heal without infection and will heal quickly- it generally leaves no scar as well. The castor oil allows the spiced honey to penetrate more deeply into the flesh. Works on accesses in the gum line as well ( although no bandage!) For burns: Manuka honey to the burn site and then wrap with gauze . This can be reapplied three or four times a day if needed. I used this on a third degree burn- it healed without infection and it healed quickly. No scar either . Don't worry that the cayenne will burn or add to pain- it actually does the opposite and numbs the pain. Just be mindful to wash your hands well if using cayenne to or cause burning eyes by accidentally rubbing them!

I would skip her breakfast and then bribe her with her favourite treats while you try to do more simple things like hold her to brush her fur. You can try wrapping her like a cocoon in a towel. Just keep her feet towards the floor and stay over and behind her as to avoid getting bitten. Over time, you can give less treats.

Taken blood tests, done scans and X-rays, no problems with his organs, blood is good. Doctor said that it could be gastro-something related, prescribed Pantopet and a tonic of some kind - nothing has worked so far. :( His diet consists of bottle gourd, carrots, turmeric, coconut oil, beef bones, organs, meat - mostly homemade food. I stopped feeding him kibble. And he's also on joint tablets for a year now. Let me know in case there is a homeremedy for this. Going to try giving him honey for now and see if it works.

Thank u Dr.Jones, ur vids have enabled me to help my babies Wall-E & Eevah(obm) so very much. I lost my baby girl in May-1st time I'd ever lived through that- she left this world on my chest, hearing me say the loving words I'd told her for over 15 years and felt my love while I stroked her from head to tail - it destroyed me, but I owed her so much. My beloved and I adopted them just months before His tragic death and I know they helped me survive; I owe them so much. I was so worried for my boy, they were so bonded, so precious. He too has CKD now-last blood eval was in August & he's late early stage/beginning of moderate. The vet was pushing dry renal food - still shocks me !??! - completely out of the question - and the wet was $6/day! Now Wall-E is throwing up - more frequently and I've started making his food at home. I gave him slippery elm in water by mouth and also pepcid/ac. Can I add rice to your home-made cat food recipe? Also, why would Wall-E be throwing up more now, when all else is fine (pooping, drinking, eating, loving etc...) He is vocalizing a lot more, so im worried about an obstruction, or...??. Made an apt with vet for next week - hope things clear. What are your thoughts dr jones, on Calcitriol to halt ckd progression? I'm feeling so frightened - Wall-E's my kid, my world, my family and I had to turn down housing because landlords demanded I give up one or both my kids; I eventually was forced out of BC as I couldn't find housing - no-one accepts pets. I know now what's waiting 4 me down the line and it reduces me to tears almost daily. Your advice would be appreciated. Thanks and keep sharing of your invaluable and financially sustainable advice ;) Best. M.

Wow. I am so glad I found this channel because the soonest I can get my cat to the vet for flea collar toxicity is one week. I already took him two weeks ago and got a steroid injection and a natural flea collar but his condition is deteriorating (Zodiac flea collar at Tractor and Supply which may or may not be more appropriate for barn cats than a house cat). I am now feeding him home cooked meals with all the healthy nutrients at home to detoxify him. In addition to the good advice to use petroleum jelly for what may oray not be a sudden onset of constipation, I learned from your online book that I might be able to neutralize the poison with Milk of Magnesia. Thank God now I have a bit of hope because I am going to bed each night worrying I will wake up to his passing.

PLEASE DONT give your furBaby prescription kibble. Ie; “Hllls Sclence Dlet”. Whilst it says it’s “safe” and will help prevent and treat the issues; it in fact makes them worse. Not only will it make issues worse, you’ll be told that you will need to purchase the product the rest of their life. It’s a money grab. • As a certified animal nutritionist (admittedly I once supported Hllls science diet). I’m also a retired certified veterinary technician.
