I'm 71 y.o., and we gave our pets dog and cat our leftovers. My mother cooked all our meals from scratch. She was a really good cook too. The pets didn't get diabetes, cancers, etc. like today. Also, our pets were indoor/outdoor and would occasionally dine on a small critter. We need to go back to a common sense lifestyle! God Bless❤

I completely agree with you! For all people and our pets. It used to be unheard of for pets to become diabetic or have cancer. Also the allergies are rampant for people and pets. It's got to be in kibble, some people processed foods, etc. ☺️ God bless you and your pet and stay healthy and happy. 🥰🙏✝️

I think if anything has come out in USA over last 13 years is how much fraud has been played on Americans by our own government and those 3- letter agencies we thought were put in place to promote good health and safety only to find out we and our pets are their experiments and money makers for the rich. So holistic now needs to be the name of our new and approved lifestyle for our families and pets. No more following but owning our responsibility to understand and be the leader of our own family and pets long term health.
I also give them some sardines as a food topper every now & then. My dogs love them and they're great for them. (In water, no salt added). 😊

Our Corgis love all the foods you mentioned except chicken hearts. I'll have to try that for them. But instead of yogurt, we give them a couple tablespoons of kefir every morning with half a hard boiled egg and a handful of blueberries. In watching a video on how to make kefir, they mentioned that a small amount of kefir was good for dogs every day. I believe it has similar benefits to yogurt.

I make my own greek yogurt and kefir. My dogs really love it. Also every year I get zucchinis and pumpkins and chop them up and freeze them so the pups can enjoy it all year round. Crazy dog mama here, have a small chest freezer for dogs' meat and veg too. Beef hearts, tongue, kidney, liver, chicken hearts, chicken feet and bones for plain broth just for them.

No kibble for my dogs. My older dog got kibble for the first 2 years of his life (he's 14..5 years old). He eats anything I throw at him. Our young dog was raised on raw meat diet from the day we got her. She does not like veggies, she watches the older dog eat it and then she plays with the veggies, throws them around, later he would clean up after her. He also likes my home made Sauerkraut. That surprised me. They get an egg every day with their meat. Chicken hearts, and beef heart is on their menu often. They get Greek yoghurt whenever I'm having it (plain, no sugar). They like plain kefir too.

Dogs love them. Pumpkin seeds and peanuts and organic peanut butter. Just be careful with yeast. Dogs can have allergic reactions with yeast on their skin. If so, use pure aloe with coconut oil, will dissappear almost instantly. Dogs are much happier with human food and organic healing. Much much healthier. Thank you Doc, you are truly amazing.

I have two gripes but this is all very good information. Be sure that your apples and other fruit/veg aren't treated with Apeel or other wax coatings. Get organic to avoid those things that could be harmful to a pet since they are smaller than humans (well, most dogs, anyway!) The other thing is to beware of lactose in yogurt. Most animals are lactose intolerant, including dogs and cats. If your dog or cat gets diarrhea after eating yogurt, they are likely lactose intolerant. Otherwise, I highly recommend cooking your pet food at home! There is no kibble allowed in my house. Here's the recipe I use for my dog: 4 whole, pasture raised eggs 2 chicken breasts and 2 chicken thighs cooked in a crock pot then chopped up together 1/2 cup Frozen peas and carrots This makes about 4-5 days of meals for a 15lb dog. I add 1 tablespoon of pumpkin puree on the side each meal. I'm going to add chicken hearts to his meals now. :)

And how many spoonfuls you give them in how many meals a day? I am considering that for the stray cats I cared for. Weight is different in each of them but I can calculate the amount based on the heavier one that must be around 12 or 13 pounds if not more… The skinnier one and the last to arrived eats like a tiger and then clean all the other plates. I will serve based on what you do. TY for sharing!!! ❤
@LilyBean825 ай бұрын
@@adyarym My dog has one dinner per day, but he gets chicken breast treats for breakfast and lunch. Just plain chicken breast nothing added to it. For cats, I would omit the peas and carrots because they are obligate carnivores and can only tolerate a small amount of veg which strays will get when they catch mice and birds (they have grass, grains, etc in their stomach). For an 8lb cat, this recipe can go a long way. I would offer them 1 cup each. For the hulk 13lb cat, I'd offer 1 1/2 cups. For kitties, you might also consider adding salmon oil to their meals for added nutrition. Others are welcome to chime in on what amounts they think would be appropriate for cats since I'm not an expert, just a person who likes to cook for animals!

Hello, thank you for all your wonderful videos and thank you for sharing them. I have a question I bought a bag of freeze dried chicken hearts. Should I feed it to the dogs just like that or should I cook it for a little bit thank you in advance.🌸🌸🌸

I've been adding steamed veg to our Dalmation x dinner most nights. She loves it and also Yoghurt, but won't touch fruit. Will definitely try the chicken hearts.

My dog won't touch broccoli or green beans, but he just loves cooked peas and carrots. He won't eat blueberries either, but he loves apples and watermelon. I've seen him happily chomp acorns, LOL. I'm just getting started on reducing and then eliminating the kibble. I hardly ever eat processed foods anymore and finally asked myself why I still feed kibble to my dog. And so I've got a question: How many cups of these foods should an 11 yr old, 60 lb. dog, now mostly sedentary, have in a day? Just found your channel, Doc. Really appreciate your videos! My old boy, Nicky needs treatment for a few things and I don't want to ever have to take him to a vet unless absolutely necessary after what happened the last time I took him. I won't go into details here. I'll just say that I don't go to M.D.'s unless absolutely needed for the same reasons. The right amount of good herbs and common sense takes care of a LOT.
