I needed this. Some of those example sentences are going into my flashcard set. And I'll use them with my Korean friend who is growing tomato plants and also is raising a toddler AND is pregnant and is getting bigger....so I'm in a perfect context for sorting these words out.

I really enjoy videos like this! I'm always finding new words that have the same meaning as words I already know. So, videos like this really help to clear up confusion!

I have a question about 놀랍게도 from the example. How should I think of the use of 도 in this kind of place? Does it make a difference to the meaning with and without 도?
@YourKoreanSaem
@YourKoreanSaem 3 жыл бұрын
If you use -게도 after an adjective then it becomes an adverb for the entire clause or sentence that follows. In this sentence “surprisingly” or 놀랍게도 doesn’t modify a specific verb but rather the whole sentence.

Uhmm I have one last question again about double consonants😅 When double consonants are in the middle of a consonant especially (ㄹ,ㅂ,ㅇ,ㅍ) and vowel, like 뭘까 is pronounced like (mweolk-kka) instead of (mweol-kka),말까 is pronounce like (malk-kka) 랑따( I just invent this word by the way) is pronounced like (langt-tta) ,맙짜( I invent this word again also) is like pronounced as (mapt-jja) and not (map-jja) or 맢따(I invent this word again) is pronounced like (mapt-tta)and not (map-tta), are they really pronounced in that way? Hope you notice it again😅

@Your Korean Saem Uhmm 누나! I want to ask again I'm a little bit confuse about this thing again because I tried to listen a lot on a video that I've watched but still it's different on what you say because if 랑따 is lang-dda then it won't have any tense sound unlike in 아까 that has tense like 악까 then the same thing applies in 랑따 as langt-tta to have tense and etc. right? . Like 랑따 as lang-dda or 말까 as mal-kka not malk-kka, but stillI I hear it as langt-tta and malk-kka like on what happen when a double consonant is between vowels like 아까 as 악까 or 오빠 as 옵빠. Try to search in Google Translator then type any korean words like 진짜 or 밀땅 and try to press the sound logo on the right side to hear the sound then press it for the 2nd time it'll automatically pronounced in a slow-mo. Then on what I hear on Google Translator when it's said on a slow-mo I hear 진짜 as jint-jja and 밀땅 as milt-ttang and here is the other source that I've got which I watched, here is the link:kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3m4nGuwodCDapY play it in part 1:15 and change the speed to 0.25x or slow-mo and I hear 밀까루 as milk-kkaru, 물까 as mulk-kka or 일짜리 as ilt-jjari, it seems like they are the same when a double consonant is between vowel like 아까 as 악까.Are they really pronounced like that milk-kkaru, ilt-jjari or mulk-kka? If yes then why's 옷빵 pronounced as ot-ppang and not otp-ppang? Please elaborate this I'm very confused, hope you notice my comment. please I need your answer.😞

Hi!😅 I just wanna ask about double consonants between vowels, I'm still confused when double consonants are between vowels like 아까,따뜻해,어때,오빠,어쩌면 and etc. it seems like they are pronounce악까, 딷뜻해,얻때,옵빠,얻쩌면 are they really pronounce like this 악까,딷뚯해,얻때,옵빠,얻쩌면? Hope you notice my comment.😅
@YourKoreanSaem
@YourKoreanSaem 3 жыл бұрын
Yes when you hear 아까 as ‘악’까 what you’re hearing is the tensing that happens before double consonants are pronounced. 아까 and 악가 would be pronounced the same.

@@YourKoreanSaem Oh thanks for that answer, I have last question. When pronouncing them syllable by syllable or slowly, should I read them as 악/까,딷/뜻/해,얻/쩜/연,얻/때,옵/빠 and etc. or this way 아/까,따/뜻/해, 어/쩌/면,어/때,오/빠? Which among the two should I read them when pronouncing syllable by syllable? Is it the first one which is (악/까) or the second one which is (아/까)? Hope you notice it again😅

what is the actual meaning of ....도대체? google translate is ...."why" so how it differs from 왜?🤔
@YourKoreanSaem
@YourKoreanSaem 3 жыл бұрын
I would say it’s used for emphasis before asking a question. It might be easy to think of it as “on earth.” 도대체 왜 고장났어?! Why “on earth” is it broken?! 도대체 누가 먹었어? Who “on earth” ate it? 도대체 뭐가 문제야? What “on earth” is the problem? Hope this helps :)
