The biggest mistake people make when they do their ab workout is they spend too much time doing it. Spending any more than 10 minutes training your abs is a colossal error since it is extremely unnecessary in order to see results. Your abs respond best to hard, intense exercises done for a short period of time but done consistently over the course of many days. In this video, I’m going to show you a 7 minute ab workout that proves all you need is intensity and not length for good abs.
This entire ab workout can be done on the floor without any equipment at all. It is going to cover all of the major functions of the ab muscles and incorporate other muscles of the core as well such as the obliques. The key is that you are going to move from one exercise to the next without resting. You earn one 30 second rest at the midpoint of the workout but that is it.
If you keep the exercises moving you never give your abs a chance to breathe, so to speak. You apply the intensity and then step on the gas throughout the rest of the workout. This allows the workout to stay difficult even if the individual ab exercises themselves are not the most challenging that you have performed.
This one starts with a bottom up movement (that also tends to incorporate a lot of rotation as well) and this is the figure 8. For the figure 8, you are literally doing what it says and moving your legs in the shape of an 8 laying on its side. This forces you to not blend two of the more challenging movement patterns into one exercise but does so when you are freshest and most capable of doing it uncompromised.
Next you move onto the long leg windshield wipers. If this is too difficult for you, you can shorten the moment arm and bend the legs rather than keeping them straight. This essentially lightens the load felt by the abs and allows you to perform the exercise if the long leg variation is too difficult to maintain for the entire 60 seconds.
This moves onto the twisting piston exercise. This is a plank variation but much more effective because of the dynamic nature of it. You not only have to have the strength to stabilize your body to avoid excessive movement here, but the plyometric aspect of the mini jumps, turns your core into a shock absorber as well and allows it to be much more functional at the same time.
Finally, a well deserved 30 second rest break.
Come out of the break and go right into the Starfish Crunch. This one is no joke! Keep both your arms and legs out wide as you perform this six pack exercise and twist to one side as you come up. This will be both a midrange and top down rotational movement, with the added benefit of hitting the oblique muscles as well.
Finally, finish with 2 minutes of rotational ab circles. This one is the easiest to perform, but since we saved it for last in the ab workout, will feel much more difficult (and effective). Make sure you give this complete ab workout a try and see how much more you can do in just 7 minutes if you are applying your ab training principles properly.
For a complete workout program and meal plan that includes this exact ab shuffle workout feature, be sure to head to athleanx.com and get the ATHLEAN-X Training System. Train your abs like a pro athlete and see how much stronger and more ripped they can become in the process.

Ok so for everyone who wants to do this I been doing this every second night for 3 and a half weeks and I m very skinny so the progress I made was incredible I got to see some abs that I didn't even know they existed .Not only that my abs are Rock solid but also not flat they are really poping out . And after 1 week I started really to enjoy doing it it was fun but keep in mind that I lifted weights before so I had the Spirit. But still I wanna thank Jeff for making the best abs exercise routine ever. Edit: So if anyone sees this comment now, that means that you also want to get abs during quarantine (because you have so much time) And I actually got inspired by this old comment I made 3 years ago to start working out my abs again. So I wish you luck and let's do this together

Hey how many days a week should I do this? Do abs need days off too? Edit: I figured out I could do it everyday. My first time doing it I feel like my form wasn’t that good but I definitely feel it. Super difficult, hopefully I’ll do better tomorrow Day 2: this shits brutal but it feels so good when you complete it Day 3: brother walked in on me doing it (pretty embarrassing) but i think i can see some definition in my abs even though i’m only 3 days in Day 4: hardest it’s been for me yet...best part is when he says congratulations in the end. Day 5: just realized i was doing star fish crunches wrong. this was extra difficult today. Day 6: well...couldn’t do it today. ran 8 miles though. was too tired from work. next time i’ll do it before i run Day 7: completed it. couldn’t keep up on the twisting pistons. but i am happy with the results after only 7 days. if i keep this up for a couple months i’ll definitely have a nice 6 pack. Day 8: did good. man those star fish crunches are hard af Day 9: did it with a friend. helped ignore the pain Day 10: god damn twisting pistons are so hard man Day 11: did a lot better than yesterday that’s for damn sure Day 12: did it boysssss Day 13: another fun ab workout with jeff complete Day 14: 2 weeks complete. i like what i’m seeing already. i won’t stop anytime soon Day 15: i hate twisting pistons still Day 16: easy felt good Day 17: did it at NIGHT. felt good again Day 18: i actually enjoy circle crunches a lot Day 19: i can’t be the only that loses balance on the tuck planks Day 20: it burns but it feels good Day 21: completed. bye now i know everything jeff’s going to say in the video Day 22: did it in the middle of the day for a change Day 23: still got some fat covering the abs but getting better Day 24: really felt it on those tuck planks Day 25: easy win Day 26: did it on a yoga mat and had an easier time doing twisting pistons cause i wasn’t slipping like i do on the carpet Day 27: the music is getting to me... Alright i forgot what day we are on....i always forget to log it afterwards but i have been doing it. first day of school today so had to do it at night. i will keep going just not daily updates (not like anyone even cares lol) update: alright so since school started and i work on school days, working out is becoming a hard thing to include in my schedule and i felt pretty demotivated. i couldn’t do it yesterday along with my chest workout. i ate a lot of junk today and am regretting it rn. i looked the mirror and just looked at the progress i made in my body over the last year and that just made me want to get back into it. i gotta keep going. tomorrow i will go extra hard still going boys we ain’t giving up. aye 2 comments! yes i’m still goin strong...yesterday i kinda let myself go and had a little too much bagels but other than that my diet has been good and i’ve been doing this workout everyday still consistent with this and my other workouts but i’m not eating as good :( i’ve been getting carried away with unhealthy stuff lately. gotta get back on track. otherwise i’m doing great sept 21: i like have a six pack but i need to lose more body fat for it to really show. this routine is so good i’m glad i started it when i did feb 8: well i gave up for a while and lost some gains but the past week ive been getting back into it. hard to stay motivated nowadays

Coming back to this video after doing this exercise daily for 2 months. As someone who has never done ab workouts seriously before, and also as a dude who's never had a visible six pack before, I can definitely say with confidence that you will get results from sticking to this. After the first month, I was able to see the definition start to come in at my upper abs, and after two months, I see more definition further down. Still have a ways to go, but here's what I did- -[Modifications] For the first month I had to substitute the ab circles for Russian twists, because I just didn't have the endurance back then. I still got a burn from the twists however. After the first month, you can make all of the laying exercises harder by sitting up a little more with your core. -[Routine] Wake up, drink about 12 ounces of water, exercise, then eat right after. Every day. -[Diet] Intermittent fasting; Eating two meals a day (rarely eating a snack between). For the first month I had two eggs for breakfast every day, and the next month (Switched to a vegan diet due to a religious fast) I had two pieces of toast with peanut butter, as well as about a cup and a half of mixed peanuts and raisins. Dinner would consist of a chicken sandwich, or soup. I didn't focus too much on getting loads of protein outside of breakfast. -[Other exercises] I walk a mile or a half mile every day. -[Body type] Trim dude, 6 foot and about 145lbs. Not built at all, until after this exercise. -[Resting] I only rested two days at the very beginning. I haven't felt fatigued after doing the exercise more consistently. I plan on updating this thread if anyone is interested. If a skinny, weak guy like me can get results from this, then so can you. You have no excuses. Get it dudes.

@@Serpinel I never really focused too much on numbers man, not that they don't play a part, but you can definitely get caught up in them. It is true that I might have seen better progress if I ate more, but I've really just been focusing more on consistent workouts if anything. FYI, I eat bigger meals these days, but still nothing crazy. Making good progress though.

Thank god I found this video. This is a video that doesn't bs and gives you exactly what you need. An ab exercise that 100% will give the abs you're looking for. I know because I've been doing this same exercise for about 4 months now and my 6 pack is completely visible without flexing. Thank you Jeff, for teaching us how to be a healthier and better version of ourselves. Keep up the great work.

I started doing this every day about a year ago and it was brutal as hell to begin with but now I consider this my warm up for any work out as it remains a challenge - it ought to as it's time based so you can push harder the better you get - but it's completely manageable to the point where I made the first exercise harder by doing "captain's chair" leg raises alternating either side and dead ahead, and always make sure I get up off the ground before Jeff does before saying "thanks Jeff - see you tomorrow morning", I can't believe how I can just get it done now like it's auto-pilot, I would suggest as a tip for anyone doing this when dealing with the twisting pistons (I think they are the real ordeal in this) is don't think about time or lasting the distance but count in your head as you do each side - by this I mean 1,1 - 2,2 - 3,3- etc as you do left-right, left, right - etc this way focus on getting to about 28 or 29 or 30 and I think it makes much less of a burden psychologically and gives a clear horizon you can focus on to get through it every time, I hope that helps! stick with it and it really will pay off and all of a sudden you'll just be doing it no problems at all - I now have defined abdominal muscles I never thought I would really have even though I have always been a very fit person but nothing really cut it like this or was a sustainable regular routine which could be stuck to for these kind of results. It's only 7 minutes- so just get it done - when you catch yourself talking yourself out of it on a lazy day remember you could have done it in that time you had that inner argument with yourself. I hope this is of some use! Good luck, and thanks again Jeff!.... I'll see you in the morning :/

Jefff you’ve been here for me in my darkest times, motivated me when I’ve let my fitness slip away from me and put me in the best shape of my life time and time again. Taught me how to control my eating and I’ve lost over 50 lbs using your follow along videos. I’ve gained it back during some hard times but I’m back at it and in just two weeks already down 20lbs. This time it stays off for good! Cant wait to see that six pack once again! You’re a true hero! My workout: 500yard sprint -Bearcrawls up hill 3 sets of 5 Superset w/ 10 burpee’s - 7min ab workout (6 pack promise) -Home chest workout | 10 minutes (FOLLOW ALONG! -work out to get lower abs fast (7 Minutes!) -15 minute arm workout (Dumbbells only) - Fraser Wilson -10 MINUTE AB WORKOUT // 6 PACK ABS // No equipment | Athlene X -Brutal 6 pack abs workout (6 minutes of pain!) -best home an workout | 10 minutes (Guaranteed) 7 days a week.

Day 1 complete, feeling good I’ll be back tomorrow with an update Day 2 complete, surprisingly I did a bit worse than DAY 1, I was a bit sore but I pulled through, I’ll update you guys on my progress for tomorrow Day 3: I took a break yesterday for muscle growth and repairing, I have noticed a significant changes in the first 2 exercises, they have become easier, and overall I didn’t stop to rest as much as the 2 days prior. Ps. If your wondering if I have changed my diet, no I haven’t, but I do have a fast metabolism and I play sports so it balances out. Thanks for the support I’ll be back tomorrow 🤙 Day 4: Workout was significantly easier and kept up more than days 3-1, stomach has become flatter and I have become less sore the morning after the workout. Thanks for the support and I’ll be back tomorrow. Feel free to ask any questions Day 5: I was able to do the workout with only 1 10 sec break, I feel good, stomach has become flatter and I can see the outline of my abs from the obliques. Thanks for all the comments and support I’ll be back tomorrow! Day 6: I almost forgot to update you guys, it’s the morning after, the workout became a bit easier but it definitely burned a lot, I stopped feeling sore after the workout (I’m not sure I it’s a good thing or a bad thing) my stomach has become significantly flatter and toned, again thanks for the support and I’ll bring you guys and update later tonight! Day 7: Wow it’s finally been a weeks worth of working out, I already feel much better and I am able to see some results, I must mention that I have been watching what I have been eating because like Jeff says, “ you can’t out train your diet”. Luckily I have a great metabolism to my advantage and I also am very active since I am in sports atm, again thanks for all the support, I’ll be back with an update tomorrow!

Alright, my results 4 Months in: I've started doing this routine at least once a week as an inclusion to my usual gym routine. Mind you, I haven't completely devoted myself to strictly clean eating habits, but this has definitely shown me some results. My abs are still under a thin layer of blubber, but there is certainly some more definition there. Probably TMI, but the wife has also told me I've also improved in the bedroom as far as thrusting power. All in all, good for improving the core I'd say.

Been doing this on average 4 times a week for the past 3 months. When I started I failed on each of the exercises about 30 seconds in- today was the first time I completed the whole workout start to finish. So from my personal experience sticking to this, it works and you do get a much stronger core fairly quickly (especially lower abs).

nice progression but I think that you should change your workout/ and exercises! Becayse if you stick to tye same exercises it will be easier for you to do snd they won't benefit you anymore
