Probably my most honest video yet. I think it’s incredibly important to be fully honest with yourself and your flaws, but that’s the only way that you’ll ever be able to correct them and grow even stronger.

Hey Oscar! Not sure if you remember me but last year I used to comment on each and every single one of your videos whenever you’d post them as I really wanted to become a professional footballer. My juggling record then was around 117-134 but I kept practicing and three months ago i finally made it to 290. I was getting better at football and felt as if it was too easy for me which was a huge mistake and so once summer break came around I was at home relaxing spending time with family or playing video games. That was a huge mistake. I hadn’t been outside playing football for a WHOLE month since summer break but i decided to play football again last week. My juggling got a lot worse. I could only do three the first 10 times i tried to juggle. I almost cried as I would always average at least 110 or more every time. I slowly made it to 20 and then 50, 60, 70, 100 and then 150 but I wasn’t so consistent anymore. I had lost my skills as well as I play as a skillful winger (my friends would compare me to Neymar) and I saw that i didn’t have them anymore + my skills and showboating is what im known for. I started deciding to watch football again. I stopped scrolling for hours on tiktok watching football edits and funny videos and instead searched football tutorials again and player skills on KZbin instagram and tiktok. I could do around the worlds effortlessly then but now it takes me 5 tries or more. I have a school football tournament in two months and if I am so behind then where are my friends in their journey? I used to be better than most but I started overthinking that maybe my friends had surpassed me in playing football. I really don’t know what I can or will do in order to go back to my previous state in football or maybe even better as I have downgraded a lot. Do you know what I can do to become as good as I was before? 🙏🏾

Work on doing the simple things really well, back to the basics. One day at a time, go easy on yourself.
@OJFootballX3 ай бұрын
I understand your situation and I think the biggest thing you should consider is to not be so hard on yourself. A month off in the context of a long career is nothing and you need to zoom out and try to see that. I can promise as long as you get yourself out on the field again, your skills WILL return and get even better. It’s just about getting yourself out there again.

It doesn't matter what happens in the past, it matters how you react to it. It might seem like you are not progressing or you are progressing very slowly but progress is progress, consistency is the key and just continue to train and you will be better than you were ever before. You need to believe and have passion. But only if you practice and stop using brainrot stuff like TikTok and youtube shorts.

Crazy to think at times you feel as if you’re the only one who’s angry after a match, for years and then just out of nowhere you appreciate the matches more and more regardless of the outcome

This could just be the key to rejuvenating my career and mindset, I started football very late but still managed to get into a lower division academy because the technicality was never really a problem, but the mental side of the game has always been a struggle. In one of my previous games I had a nervous breakdown that was so bad that I faked an injury just to get subbed off and it was one of my lowest moments. This video has given me a lot of answers that I've been looking for. Thanks Oskar 🙏

Now I am focusing mainly one akill for a month, somedays the training might be worse than yesterday. It lowers my confidence . And somedays i am afraid to do the drills that i am doing consistently because of these. These mindset is preventing from doing training. I know i want to focus on process rather than focusing more on growth .
@OJFootballX3 ай бұрын
You said it yourself, try to switch your focus onto the process and don’t obsess over constant growth. I can tell you, from all the years I’ve been playing it will always go up and down, sometimes you may not feel like you’re making any progress for several months, and sometimes you feel like you improve massively with every training session. It’s important to understand that growth is not linear and will go straight up. It’s a curvy path that will eventually go upwards as you keep putting in the work

Nice vid as usual! Most of these all are things I can relate to that I struggle with, so I’ll make sure to keep these in mind. I’m just getting off a minor injury so I know my technical ability will be quite poor for the week to come. I’ll focus extra on fixing these areas, since these are all things that would help me improve. I’ve always had confidence issues that ruin my performance in games and make me one of the worst players on the pitch. I can especially notice this when playing small sided games with friends and other people that are better than me, and yet I always play as the best person there. Yet in full games something in my brain just turns off. I play way too safe and hesitate completely, then I beat myself up after the game. The season is starting soon for me and I still have improved greatly over the summer so I’ll work on these tips to completely fix my game. Thank you so much for the great vid and I hope u have a blessed day 💪

Hey sir, I'm someone who's just coming back from an injury that has taken months to heal, before my injury last September I was already training to play small local tournaments with my friends, however, I ended up injured, this happened when my relation with football was something that was starting as someone who never wanted to play in his teenage year. This is why I wanted to ask if you have any guide or advice for a complete beginner to introduce himself to football and get really good at it, what would you do to start to understand the game really well, how would you pick drills to get solid foundations...etc Thank you sooo much in case you read this!🤠

Try and find a higher level to play at by going on clubs websites and asking for trials. Thats what I did and now i play 1 year up with a premier league club in their pre academy. You never truly realise how good you are until you play with players at a high level. A great benefit of this also is that you feel yourself improving after each session because the players are just so good that you are forced to play well.
@sidewayscake3 ай бұрын
Same here just go to as many trials as you can to get to a better club. Do individual training to get better technically and game analysis for tactics. Good luck 👍

Hey Oskar, I hope you are doing absolutely good!! I'm 21 years old trying to make it pro in India. The leagues are also coming up as well. Trials are there but it's mainly for up to 17-18 years old. And currently I'm going to the gym and training to build a good physique mainly in my upper body. I am thinking of making my lower body agile again. I lack the speed but I can work on it. I have been not playing football for a while 3-4 months and looks like my heart does want to get back on the saddle. But I can only put myself into training not more than 30-40 minutes a day since I'm spending a lot in the gym. And I can't train football technicals everyday. I know by now, how football works to an extend but may not have the same technical abilities of a youngster in India. But surely I can play with my intelligence. Looking for open trials. I don't know if I can make, there's always a way put some efforts when I think 1 more time. And I want to do it one more time. I have only the experience at an amateur level till now. Just one trial attempt. Can't seem to find. I'm also looking for some backup in film industry if football doesn't work. Do you still think I have a chance though low?

Dang, bro you're really honest and wise. Your advice is so good. Please don't feel discouraged or down(or I should say try not to) because what your doing is setting up the future of young ballers who are serious about this. Thank you for your advice. Oskar i am always in pressure in and overthing in practice or match
@OJFootballX13 күн бұрын
That is more common than you might think and I used to be the biggest overthinker as well when playing. I think the solution is first to be comfortable in your own skills and know that you’re able to do what you want because then it just becomes a matter of what’s going on in our mind. What solved the problem for me was to approach the game in a more relaxed way instead of thinking that every game was the end of the world. It made me play more relaxed and closer to my full potential.
