How can the first time you encounter a Malboro on pretty much all Final Fantasy games not be on this list! The dread of this creature! Realizing you haven't saved in an hour, watching your guys spin with confusion, fuming with berserk, blinded, silenced and attacking and missing your own allies as the poison they also have slowly drains them away and there is literally nothing you can do about it, so the Malboro can have itself a Meal made from the Heroes... fun fun fun...

I'm not sure who writes the script, but you guys are doing a fantastic job, this was very inspired! Rosie is a certified badass, the Majima/Saejima fight had me on the ropes. I still beat it on my first try, but it really took everything my party had. Also, Adachi is a demoted cop who is seeking justice on corrupt officials. My dreaded stages: Resident Evil 4 Remake - the Del Lago fight, because it is currently keeping me away from my platinum, since it takes too long to kill with what you've got: harpoons. Sha'hala in N'Erud, from Remnant 2, on apocalypse difficulty. While the game has its fair share of dodging and pattern memorization, THIS boss sees itself as a DJ in a rave party, shooting six lasers at the same time, while pulling up black holes from the ground and zapping you with ethereal lightning from the sides. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it takes a lot of commitment to beat. The nightmare frontier in Bloodborne. It has frenzy, it has wintern lanterns, I have no intention of running past it ever again. The First Hero in Skul: Hero slayer. I've managed to get the no damage trophy on everyone except this guy, because he has THREE different final forms and likes to paint all over my screen with red particles that...well, deal damage, so that's a no-go. The Metal Gear Ray battle in MGS2: Sons of Liberty. Raiden is not in peak condition, to say the least, the fission has been mailed and the fact that you need to still save some steam for Solidus only makes it harder. The final battle against Roche in FF7: Rebirth. It's a solo battle, and on hard mode, that means Cloud goes down in 2-3 hits. Riche having multiple grabs and follow-ups did not help at all. The killer bunny from Dragon's Crown. It looks cute, but it's small, which means it's harder to hit compared to the well-built monsters you usually fight, it turns into a literal tornado of destruction - during which time it is invulnerable to all damage - AND it has an instant kill attack. It loves spamming it for consecutive kills and a very fast party wipe. Monty Python is to blame for this atrocity of a boss!

The multiple parts in the last of us part 2 that I dread. Not gameplay wise, but the sheer graphic violence of Joel’s brutal death scene, Ellie’s ptsd, Abby almost being hung, Abby/Ellie’s fight at the theatre, how Ellie almost drowns Abby at the end and the killing of the dogs. Everything is so realistic that it’s a bit unsettling to watch. But at the same time, that game is a masterpiece that I can’t just put down.

Klunk in Secret Agent Clank is one that I dread. The game isn’t too hard but that bearded little terror handed my rear to me more times than I can count. Crash Bandicoot Warped. One level, two words: Road Crash. This is the level I struggle with the most. Even though Area 51? is arguably harder, at least it has the excuse of being in the secret warp room. Road Crash does not -- it's halfway through the main game, in the 3rd warp area. It has the most difficult turns of every one of the motorcycle levels, and since it's a motorcycle level, you can't even die and return to a checkpoint -- if you fail, you have to do the entire level again. Good luck getting first place on this one without retrying multiple times.

Three of mine are: 1. Going to & leaving the underwater city because of the Lurker shark in Jak & Daxter the Precursor Legacy. While it is technically possible for someone to never encounter this thing while playing the game as you will need to go into deep water for it to appear. The first time u do will be ur last because u will be so scared to dip ur toe in the water that u will make sure u never mess up on any platform over water again. That thing scared me as a small child & it still scares me as an adult 2. Encounting Chris Walker in flooded sewer room in Outlast (or really any monster in a very dark space where it can see me but I can't see it or can only see it with the night vision on. Now, don't get me wrong, I love the horror genre to pieces that I even speed run games (usually this game) once every year & have an entire 2 months dedicated to Halloween but when it comes to sneaking around in a pitch black area where I know a monster is going to be it makes me uneasy because now I don't know where they are but you can be sure they can hear & see me stumbling around like an idiot. If I can see the monster then I know where it is & I can figure out how to go around it but if I can only hear it & not see it then that dread makes it heard to pin point exactly where it is especially in a room where the sound can echo off the walls & any water if it in that area 3. The apartment building or hotel in Silent Hill 2. Both buildings even with the map are a massive spooky labyrinth that you have to navigate & even worse if you get turned around or end up a dead end good luck figuring out which direction you need to go before the monsters find you & corner you in that dead end or box you in an area you have no idea where you're at. I actually got so scared when I was younger that I refused to leave my hiding spot when first encounting Pyramid head. It wasn't for a good few years before I went back & let poor James out of that hiding spot to continue his nightmare adventures

One moment I dread in a game is the final mission in the 2000's Spider-Man video game for the Playstation where you're getting chased by Monster Ock through the ventilation system, I don't even have a copy of it anymore but even seeing videos on it gives me PTSD flashbacks and heart attacks when I see that red monstrosity rubber banding right next Spider Man for NO apparent reason other than the sole purpose of having my heart explode from my chest from the pure stress he induces, as well as the reminder that if I ever do get another copy, or if for SOME reason someone has the great idea of remastering it, that I will absolutely buy it for nostalgia and have to force myself to go through that again, still dreading it to this day.
