The mom son ad definitely needed subs for you guys..so a lot of Indian names are structured as 'first name' - 'middle name' (which is usually the father's first-name) - 'last name' (which is the surname or family name) So they're challenging the tradition of putting the father's name in your name and the guy in the ad, even though he missed having dinner with his mom on mother's day, changes his name on Facebook by adding his mom's first name as his middle name

Reasons why young girls are dropping out of schools: 1 parents of rural areas don't have enough money to send their daughters to school. 2 they are still stuck in their beliefs that girls are meant to be in kitchen. 3 no proper supply of menstruation products in rural India so when girls get that age they are made to stay in home. 4 all rural villages don't have school. Some have. People have to travel long distance to attend schools. 5 no safety of girls in schools. There have been many harrasment and rape cases registered.

The 2nd ad- it was the ad of whet flour. We Indians eat wheat flour flat bread in ur language. For us it ‘ ROTI ‘. The ad shows how a shared roti can reduce the distance between people n bridge a friendship. Like in the first set up the office colleagues were having pizza, the guy mispronounced it n hence mocked by them. But when he opened his lunch box everyone envied his home made food. That’s when he said ‘ hindi medium’ that means his lunch box was pure Indian n not continental food. But they all happily joined n shared the food. In the 2nd set up the cops , basically the juniors were having their dinner n a senior officer passes by. There was a vibe of discomfort that the senior officer felt. So he came back n took a bite from their box. That eased the environment n the juniors got comfortable in front of the senior.

"Roti" ... i.e Chapati in Indian food has a special place. It doesn't represent just an item of food but the love and care of the person who makes it, which is mostly the mother, sister or the wife. It is also referred to as a synonym of Mother's love, "Maa Ke Haanthon Ki Rotian." The ad was for wheat flour and what ppl were sharing with each other was Roti i.e their love. In the corporate canteen scene, the guys who were eating Pizza also came to eat Roti, and the officer who broke bread from his subordinates' lunchbox depicts that he cares for his team and respect them so much to eat Roti with them. We Indians love to share food!

Dont ask us those ‘whys’, there are no simple answers in a country as complex and diverse as India.

She brought up Sanjay and his sister single handed in a one-room accommodation because they had an alcoholic father who died of liver cirrhosis. That's why SLB was obsessed about remaking Devdas...he even dedicated the movie to his dad.
@ritusehgal61405 жыл бұрын
As for the lunch ad...in indian cities there are 2 classes of people...the trendy westernized ones who swear by their pizzas and pastas....and the Desi (local Indian) ones who have home-cooked meals (in those over-sized lunch boxes!). Also there are people who've been educated in elite English schools and those who study in schools where the medium of instruction is the local state language (they're called 'Vernies' short for vernacular...if you watch Karan Johar's Kabhi khushi kabhi gham there's a scene about it!) So the ad was basically about mixing of classes...that's why the guy said "Will the Hindi-medium lunch do?" (Watch Hindi Medium and the more recent Angrezi medium starring Irfan Khan to understand how big a deal this is in India...guess many of us still nurse a colonial hangover!) Angrezi is the Urdu/Hindi word for English (the language) and Angrez for the English (people). Yes Rick was right, it's often used in all patriotic movies about the freedom struggle.

They r tv ads. Not all ads need to pull at ur heartstrings in order to advertise their products. Since Indians r emotionally connected especially through media of any kind, ads work better when they tell you a beautiful story. In the credit card ad, a friend 's gift to both the boss and the employee made things (work atmosphere) a little easier n better between them. In the Samrat Atta(wheat flour) Ad, it establishes the fact that sharing good food transcends class, ranking in jobs and between colleagues(they cut down the ad here ). The Mom n child with the injured leg is about having health insurance.. Most don't have enough money to cover hospital bills n take loans that they repay for the rest of their lives. Health insurance as u know, covers most operations so if u r insured, you n your family members need not worry about health care n its accompanying bills. There r hospitals who do not treat you until they know u can pay ur bills. The education one-India ranks second in population in the world-Earlier boys n girls were educated as per their family 's wishes. Girls r seen as able to work in the fields n help in the kitchen so in order to cut down the paying of school fees, they r not sent to schools while boys r (even in government schools, not everything though for minor things is free). Girls (in some places equally for those in rural n urban areas and in some, mostly urban n vice versa) are seen as liabilities to be married off with hefty dowries(though illegal, still prevalent)The situation is far better now though it still exists in remote places especially where men don't want their women folk to be educated n start questioning things in general or ask for rights entitled to them. 🙏🌹

We do , dude one ad does not show the entire country , like srsly ? Best example was 4p day baby was shifted from Mangalore to Bangalore in South India 400 km which will take 7-8 hr because of traffic and mountain terrain curve roads , but the driver covered it in 3 hours because police gave zero traffic green coridore for 400 km and people stood on either sides of road and made sure no vehicle made any disturbance for the ambulance , check out the video ull find it on KZbin

Rick you must have noticed while in India , WE DON'T HAVE LANE DISCIPLINE on our roads , so it's tougher to give way to ambulance and everyone want's to overtake each other on the street. we don't care for lives here (sarcasm) .Everyone just want to reach their destination asap and they don't care if someone is dying or not. this is the harsh truth about India.
