The last part of this adventure was really a demanding one absolute dedication Matthew .. extremely enjoyable to sit and watch.. i have no idea how you stand the bug bites and having your feet water logged . It usually drives me insane when we are camping . you handle it with grace :).. this was a true great adventure .. I'm looking forward to watching your other videos and your upcoming adventures as well . I also love the fact that you keep it real on your adventures no censoring words out , no cutting huge chunks out , we experience it as you experience it, you let the camera roll with few edits .. But all the long and some really tough forging, going over beaver dams, paddling rapids up & down and ya the damn bugs, I say you would get a Honorary degree in any Bush Crafter organization.. You and Monty have a bond that just fills my heart with joy. I had my own pup that I felt the same connection with. I got her when she was 10, and she was a miniature poodle who lived most of her life on the streets. When she was rescued she looked like a dirty rope mop. She had to have all her teeth pulled except for the 2 on bottom that kept her tongue in place. Now, with a mini poodle most people would think she was some wussy little thing, but she protected me and stayed by my side till she died 3 years later of heart problems. She was right by my side and matched me step for step. I miss her more than anything. Watching you and Monty brings those memories back for me. Such genuine respect and love. Thank you for letting us all catch a glimpse of true friendship, even after we've lost our own little buddies.

Awesome 7 day wilderness adventure. I really like it when you slow down and take your time to enjoy the journey rather than rush from point A to B and so on. This time, it felt like you were more relaxed and really enjoying all the aspects of the trip. Monty is sure a wonderful canoe buddy. He quietly endured swarming mosquitoes, being smothered in a blue poncho and having his two-legged companion slurp food in his ear when he was trying to snooze. 😃 You're the best Monty and oh ya' Matt, you're not so bad yourself. 😊 👍

Hey Matt love the adventure! I’m in the military and I use MAC sacks all the time to waterproof my clothes and gear. You can find them cheap at surplus stores and they make them in small and large sizes. I’d recommend new ones versus used ones so you know they’re really waterproof but they do work really well 👍🏼

Another fine video,and Monty is starting to look like a blue sheep dog ready for herding lol,and at times he stood so still under his rain gear,it didn't even look like he was under it other then his front feet and nose stuck out lol he's something what a treat,and other then the pesty bugs it looks like you and Monty survived the trip,and had fun ty for sharing 😆👍... PS and i ran out of popcorn lol😂. Damn. I guess I'm just used to the desert where water is scarce. And we have to carry in water with us every where. What different worlds we live in my friend. I find these things interesting to say indeed. I was homeless for three months here in az about 30 years or so ago. I had to boil water for a spit bath just to stay some what clean. And that's how I washed my cloths. I was out by lake pleasant north of phoenix. I have to say I'm grateful for every thing I have today. And what I learned from that three months on my journey. The things I learn from your area from mine. I imagine soap would be horrible for the water ways there.

Knocked out half of this vid last night and will finish it up tonight - good stuff. Totally agree about liking things cooler when outdoors. Perfect day for me is partly sunny with temps in the low to mid 60s during the day, nights in the low 50s... small window for that sort of weather. Checked out a lot of your gear links! Always curious to see what other peeps are using. I am one of those leisurely BWCA canoe trippers. Base camping then exploring and fishing the lakes around me, maybe moving camps every other day. When I was in my 20s I did loops where I was always moving each day all day. Like you said the days go by fast that way. Ditching the wife this weekend for a hiking and camping trip in Northern Wisconsin, or at least further north than where my cabin is. Should be a good time, though it will be warm and likely buggy. Soaking my clothes in Permethrin a couple days before I go. Keep the videos coming. They sooth my restless soul when I can't escape to the woods.

The heat is brutal unless it's a full day of no work and just fun in the sun. Funk likes the leisure type camping more. As long as I can fish or something all day, I am good to go. I am sure I will slow down with time. Awesome! Yea the bugs are rough right now, I haven't made it out again since my trip. Been super busy but I am trying to find some time. I am glad I was able to make this trip into 3 big parts because I would have missed an adventure on Sunday. Will do! Happy to help!

Awesome! I watched everything over my Christmas vacation. I miss adventures like this. The last thing that I have fond memories of was Bob's Lake in Ontario. It wasn't anything close to what you do but; Just being there and being surrounded by fresh air, endless water, wildlife and awesome fishing.
