Nice video... The capacitor was only charged to about 1/2 V. This was determined using the info you supplied and the formula: I(t) = C (dV/dt).

And that's a very good safety feature in bike lights which are powered by a dynamo. Most of them are like this now which I highly recommend. Btw if it fails after a while it is probably the supercapacitor which has come loose due to vibration. Resolder and use silicon glue.
