Test it under load using the dead battery as the input and see if you get the same voltage.

You can find the product on Aliexpress. Just search for "600mah 1-5v step up converter module"

Is this an end to my building Joule Thieves…?🤔

Its better bcz work from 0.1v

Depends on how efficient this module converts Voltage A and Current A to Voltage B and Current B. If you get ( hypothetical ) 20% loss of input Wh inbetween, stick with the Joule Thieve ;)

Just a comment: You should have tested if the module could START with voltages lower than 0.7V; probably it would fail. Just like a “Joule Thief” (blocking oscillator) that steps up a worn out battery to power White LEDs, can drain as low as 0.2V, but needs initially 0.7~0.8V to start oscillating. Thanks for sharing and have a great New Year!

You could add a capacitor though so it charges up and gives the module a kick start.

Is it stable when powering with 0,5v? Can it feed the Arduino when fed with 0,5v?
@Hacktuber19 күн бұрын
Yes 100% will work

How long did your almost dead battery last?

I need more time to test

I wonder if you could drive the Arduino from the dead battery, though. Also, what happens as you increase the input voltage near or past 5Volts. This would be useful to monitor individual cells in a EV battery pack...

This thing uses joules thieft principle... Never use a good rechargeable battery here because it will kill it... Though it is good for dead batteries...
@Hacktuber11 күн бұрын
Yes dead batteries are best choice for these modules
Complete nonsense. Making 5V with 1V is not with 0.5V. But but, what are we going to get in amperage? 30mA output? Let's be generous, with the example from the video, 5V and 100mA.
@jplacido999914 күн бұрын
Don't say "amperage". It doesn't exist. It is "current".

how convient that the cables go offscreen from the generator.... fishy!!!
