This is a video review I made of a 7-ports USB hub that I purchased online.

The pros:
This is a small, cheap item, which does what it supposed to do.
The cons:
When It comes to devices that need more power supply the device might not be able to give them the electric current that they require. In this situation, you will notice those devices not able to provide their max performances (i.e. work in a lower resolution for cameras/video converter).
This device does have a socket to connect a power adapter that is supposed to solve this problem (at the moment I'm waiting for the seller's answer about that).

I got mine in today. I had to replace a Belkin 4-port USB Hub that I had since the Windows XP Era. And to my delightful surprise, I found that the power A/C Adapter that went to the old Belkin USB hub worked. Power Transformer/AC Adapter specifications: 5 V 2.6 A Negative outside, Positive Inside.

It means it is 5V DC adapter. If you plug a wire in that socket it will give you 5V DC from your computer. It means you plug a 5V DC adapter in parallel with your computer power supplie. So, if you plug the wrong adapter you may damage your computer power supplie.

I currently don't have this specific model to confirm how to do that - I watched the video again to try & figure out how to do that, but I can't confirm the solution. This is probably shouldn't be a complicated task but worst-case scenario - for the price it costs, I if it gets too complicated then I strongly recommend getting rid of it & buy a new one. Its easy, pry it apart starting from the external power connector, then slide left and down, then the long side with all the lights. Its just pressed together with 5 pins one in the center and one in each corner.

Hi dear Fran D'Andrea, From what I recall it is supposed to allow you to connect a power adapter because the electric current is limited. Keep in mind I didn't have a designated power adapter with it, so I preferred to avoid from taking unwanted risks. This does not work on my WIN11 laptop, nothing is recognised and the voltage drop is horrible. Lucky for me i bought four of these just for the hardware, 7 USB ports, 7 power switches and seven bright blue leds for 21 SEK ($2 USD) is cheap. 5.1 volt on laptop usb port becomes 4.3 volt on hub port 1 and 4.13 volt on hub port 7. I connected three hubs in series, port 7 to next a.s.o and voltage dropped to 3.4 on last port.

All the China seller does not know because they only want to sell easily and ignores buyers. This is a standard 3.55 dc barrel jack. Plug in dc and will spoil your USB Hub forever. The IC inside is not real USB chip. They are China made fake wafer. The speed is at least 6 times slower than normal USB. Not worth to buy because price is the same as real USB. Even 8 port hubs from House brand are fake. Never buy the hub that has this logo 7 or 4 in a box example shown in your video. Mine came in a box while yours has no box. Inside the hub you will see a too thin jumper wire soldered improperly. This means wrong design and there are no capacitors or any protection components.
