Far Cry 4 Durgesh Prison make a grappling hook, get out, no basically no guards what so ever. Heck they don't even take away your syringes so you can just heal yourself as well as hide extremely well.

Personally, my favorite "inescapable" prison was Papyrus's from Undertale. The bars were wide enough for you to literally walk through and all of the characters around were completely aware of that fact (or at least Sans was).

My favorite is disguising yourself as a guard to sneak your way out- even if you're a dwarven noble. Even if the Colonel wasn't told about or shown the newest prisoner, you'd think he'd have some questions for this very short recruit with the distinctive facial tattoo.

It’s the same prison from Arena, possibly the same cell. I don’t know what’s worse, that they just kept putting prisoners in that same cell even after the PC from Arena uses the secret passage to escape, or that someone thought it was a good idea to put secret escape routes in MULTIPLE cells.

Here's a couple you missed: Tomb Raider 2, 3 and 5. In Tomb Raider 2, you get captured by a Mafia cult and shoved in a storeroom by their seaplane on an oil rig. This would be effective... If the switch to the door wasn't hidden behind the crates. In Tomb Raider 3, you are locked in an Area 51 prison for attempting to break in, but you simply trigger some laser tripwires in the window and a guard comes running. Then you run out, free another prisoner and he beats up the guard for you, as melee attacks didn't exist in Tomb Raider yet. In Chronicles, you are locked in a submarine's sleeping quarters but you improvise a crowbar out of a handle and sneak out through the air ducts. Prince of Persia. You start the game in prison in the palace dungeons but you find a loose floor tile in 3 seconds, letting you drop to the lower floor. In Prince of Persia 3D, you also get locked in a dungeon but can escape by shoving a wall out through a secret passage. The guard who finds you gone grunts in frustration while gesturing like someone beat him at cards. He knows. Marathon 2. The Big House. You are imprisoned by the aliens you fight and are beaten to within an inch of your life. However, Bobs break in and save you within a matter of minutes. You are supposed to have been there for months but due to the way the game works, it feels like you just teleported into the cell. Half Life and Black Mesa. You get shoved in a trash compactor (not really a cell I know) but can climb up the debris to escape. After getting your crowbar back, you escape through the compactor's drain. Far Cry Instincts. The classic Xbox/Xbox 360 reimagining of Far Cry 1. You get captured early in the game and injected with a serum that gives you cat powers fuelled by adrenaline, starting with a claw attack punch. You wake up in a truck or shipping container after getting the shot and it takes all of 15 seconds to claw your way out, sending the door flying into a helpless guard in the process.

Also, in OoT, the *cell* you're thrown in is easily escaped, but the fortress does a great job hampering your progress given the fact that the place is a maze and you have to free 4 carpenters before you can move on with the story.

Chrono Trigger does this. Twice. The first time, when Chrono is imprisoned after a rigged trial, the guards conveniently forget to take away his sword. The second time, in the Blackbird, the guards do disarm the party. Who then can escape by pretending to be sick and beating up the lone guard who comes to investigate. Without weapons. Chrono Trigger has some pretty incompetent prison guards...

Of course on the Blackbird you then have to manage to sneak to the cell with the sleeping guard to get one of your party's weapons and armor back. Otherwise if you get caught you get thrown back into the cell since you can't fight...unless you have Ayla in the party. Since she just uses her fist, you can just fight using her until you get all of your things back.

@@Canadamus_Prime Put Ayla in your party right after the Ocean Palace collapse before you wake up and go to the field with the other survivors of Zeal and you can even fight your way through the Blackbird to find your stuff instead of using the air vents.

@@gblakney1 Yeah DoTO is/was supposed to be a DLC actually, like Knife of Dunwall and Brigmore witches, but is was released as a standalone title as well. It has 5 tracks, lots of side missions and some fun powers. I gives you more background to the bad guys, Daud and Billie. And the Outsider. I also came to find it by accident because it came up as I searched for Dishonored 2 for some reason.

I swear sometimes pokemon games (and randomness in general) like to mess with players. I got a shiny oshawott as my starter in Pokemon Black/White 2 (I don't remember which game) and didn't realize until a friend pointed out what the star marking on the summary meant 3 YEARS LATER. I didn't see a single other shiny for the entire game. The color palate was so similar to a normal oshawott that I didn't notice, and I figured the glint that happened when he switched into battle was just a special animation for starters.

I recall that you start Elder Scrolls: Oblivion in a prison cell. Even in Dishonored depending if you go stealth good or high chaos, the prison can be either fast or slow to escape. Manhunt, escaping after your "execution".

I was coming on here to do this one too. They make it even easier by giving the player another exit and a bonfire, even if an undead wasn't good at escaping and dies eventually they'll learn what to do through neverending prison riots.

Not only that we were technically in prison at the Very beginning of the game, but we only got out of there due to plot convenience via a Oscar dropping a corpse holding the key to somehow unlock your cell from the inside down to you from the roof (and we don’t even completely know how he got up there to begin with)

When Mike said the words "Prison Architect" I immediately thought of the game Prison Architect, which in it you can play escape mode and escape from prisons made by other people. (Which unless the player who built it was a pro, usually all had their own fatal flaws that allowed you to escape fairly easily)

I had an experience in Skyrim, I had been sent to jail for murdering guards, and after a few seconds I dropped a cup, causing the guard to just, walk in, leave the door open, and check out the cup, at which point I left the cage and lockpicked my way into the chest with my items, while the guard watched

@Respectable AF I love Army of Two. especially The Devil's Cartel. even tho it was the first ever Army of Two game I played and I didnt know much about Salem and Rios's friendship, Salem's betrayal still was upsetting.. but not rly unexpected cuz u could see the burn scars under El Diablo's mask and Salem supposedly "died" in the explosion of the escape vehicle he acquired.. so yeah doesnt exactly take a genius to put two and two together. @@gblakney1 Yeah I love AoT. The 40th day I've played like 10 times. It's better than couples therapy 😉 I liked Devil's cartel as a game, but not the story. They brought in this guy called Jay Turner, known as "the undertaker", because all his scripts basicly kills games. He wrote the ending to Mass Effect 3... Need I say more. LOL. I felt the script stepped way to far from the idea of the franchise, the bromance between Salem and Rios. I figured out pretty fast that Salem was the "Devil" but the setup of Rios leaving Salem behind and Salem going bad was just so far from the characters I've come to know. I think Zack Ward did a great job voicing, and the lines were funny, but no one can top Nolan North as Salem. So 40th day is my personal favourite.

@Respectable AF Rios was crippled by the aforementioned explosion and carried out to the escape chopper against his will remember? he wanted to get Salem out but he wasn't given a choice in the matter. we ALL knew Salem was nuts beforehand so obviously he would take it personally to some degree cuz he don't think like most ppl. the story makes more sense than u think it does. u just have to pay attention to the little details.. tho u knew who wrote it and have ur mind made up about his ability to write a story so ur not going to give it a chance are u? I didn't know nor do I care who wrote the story when I played it. that means nothing at the end of the day.

@@gblakney1 Yes I remember the game, but that's what I mean, that Salem would believe the cartel when they said Rios abandoned him and that Salem would join the cartel. It's just so out of character. Like I said, the games are about R&S bromance, they have had each others backs so many times it just seems like a character stretch to have Salem loose faith so completely. I actually didn't know who wrote the script before. I bought the game because I love AoT. It wasn't until afterwards I read up on the guy and he seem to be getting a lot of criticism for his work. Basically they bring him in to kill franchises. And that it to bad, because it means we won't get to play another Army of Two. Btw, did you know there was talks about making a live action film of AoT? But the project have been shelved. So it's in some sort of limbo for now.

Where is Bargate Prison from Fable? Yeah, "technically" you spend there 1 in-game year. But in reality you are there for approximately 4-8 minutes, depends how fast you figure out what to do.

Souls-like games have plenty of these. In Dark Souls, you start in a jail cell and a friendly Knight drops you a corpse with a key on it so you can waltz right out, pick up all your gear, and plunge attack a giant demon from a convenient ledge on the second level. Later in the game Seath the Scaleless trounces you and throws you in another prison cell, to which your response is to stab the surprisingly fragile snakeman guard leaning against the bars, take the key from his corpse, and leave to explore the previously inaccessible depths of his library. In Bloodborne, get caught by a certain bag-toting enemy and he'll haul you off to the Hypogean Gaol, where getting out is as simple as walking over and opening the door.

The Suffering is a pretty hilarious example. You are quite literally on death row and have just been locked up. Suddenly, demons start appearing and kill everyone, and a figment of your mind's inner demon slashes open the door to let you out. Granted, you now have to fight your way out of the prison, but that has to be the record time for a jailbreak, with the distinction of also being caused by a hellish outbreak.

The future-jail-cell bit in Overlord White’s compound from Costume Quest 2 was so anticlimactic. Escaping only requires you to blow some papers out of the way with the pterodactyl costume and then punch the wall. Who knew prison break was this easy!?

Never forget the flying prison in Ratchet and Clank 2. Not only does Clank’s robot girlfriend help bust them out minutes after Ratchet comes to, the kind jailers also let you keep all your weapons, place a weapons vendor right outside the cell and keep your ship ready to fly at a moment’s notice.

Let's not forget Chrono Trigger, where you get executed even if you're found _Not_ Guilty of kidnapping, but it's fine because any gang of teens can break out their buddies and fight off the prison guards. Their justice system is flawed, but it all works out in the end.

Prison Island from Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. I mean, an eight year old and a twelve year old broke out Sonic in less than a day. Frick, Eggman broke in, stole Shadow, came back to the island (that's right, broke BACK into the prison), and blew the whole place up. And this was supposed to be a top secret super serious prison.
