@@kendrickwhite995 GTA 5 is the first of Rockstar's sandbox games where you play as three different characters concurrently, each of them a different sort of trope figure, with their own sorts of missions, things they'll get up to, abilities, etc., and it's something rarely done in video games. Playing as only one character, however isn't the unique part about it. Skinny CJ, fat CJ, and buff CJ will always be CJ aside from minor tweaks to gameplay. All GTA's have had one protagonist at a time, including SA, and him possibly being fat, buff, etc. in appearance doeesn't change him from being that same protagonist; it's still not as unique as three different protagonists at the same time. It's different, perhaps subjectively more interesting of a mechanic than having multiple specialists with different specialties, but by itself, it doesn't amount up to being more unique.

Actually people in medieval times would clean there teeth by rinsing them with warm vinegar or wine and then wiping there teeth using a rough cloth to dry and get any gunk off of their teeth. This combined with the fact that only the rich could afford sugar actually meant that a lot less people had dental problems because most of what people ate back then was vegetables, bread, or meat and that generally meant that people where much healthier than now because they constantly exercised. A game with basic needs like eating, drinking, car that consume fuel and other can be nice, the only issue is that in most game you stave to death in 10 minutes and your car can only run 15 minutes on a fuel tank, if those mechanics used more realistic time scale it would be more enjoyable. Having the possibility to become fat or strong in GTA was actually fun and since you aren't forced to eat, you can't complain about being fat and loosing ability. Same for hangover, if the game forced you to get drunk I could understand how annoying it would be, but when drinking is YOUR choice, why would you complain... RDR2's hunting minigame was pretty fun imo. How involved it was made it feel like that much more of an accomplishment. BTW u guys got it a bit wrong, it wasn't that you have to use your bow or small caliber rifle. The knife would never damage a pelt, but it's impossible to use on some animals. The actual point was to use the *correct* weapon to suit your prey. Which meant you had to prepare properly instead of just finding targets of opportunity (sometimes). And you wouldn't know what weapon to use until you've studied it, which means you had to spot it with binoculars or examine its body. This would also allow you to identify its tracks.

2 of you corrected the OP, but he said what you corrected. Anyway. I remember in Quake 2, I could carry every weapon. I remember people eventually getting sarcastic about that, and now in 99% of games you can carry 1-2 weapons and a sidearm. So, I carry a close quarters and a sniper. There are a lot of close quarters maps, so I eventually drop the sniper for another close-med weapon, because I'm low on ammo for the first one. 5 minutes later, there's a sniping section, and now I don't have a sniper. WEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I've played many games where the skinning animation seems to take ages, and what I just saw of RDR2 looks like they decided to take that to another level. That looked neat, but after seeing it 100 times, I don't want to sit through that anymore. What about having to tap A to make your horse move at a reasonable speed? Why is that fun? And, what's with the new thing of having to hold the button down for 1-2 seconds to open doors, interact with anything, or loot?

I am an Anglophile, and would just LOVE a new generation Get Away game!! The fact it represented so much of London was sooo cool. Only thing is if they did it for current times, it won't even feel like London anymore, with all the immigrants there and their shops etc. They should do a 80s era story, like Vice City, so it would still feel authentically English. Red Dead Redemption 2: how NOT to hunt. I'm gonna tell these guys how to hunt in RDR2 because it's obvious they have no idea. First things first; you don't need cover lotion, just stay downwind of your prey and you can get within fifteen meters of the animal. To figure out if you're downwind or not, activate Eagle Eye, and look for the wavy streamers coming off of Arthur. If they're pointing towards your prey, you're upwind and they will smell you. Remember to crouch while moving, and don't sprint or ride your hose or the animal will startle. Next, always use the tracking feature when you find the prey. If you fill the compendium log for an animal you can learn what it is and the quality of the animal by it's tracks making it much easier to find perfect animal pelts. Next, the proper weapon for the job is key, you don't need to use low damage weapons, just the one appropriate for the job. For deer, use a bow or rifle and aim for the head, neck, or chest for a one shot kill for minimum damage. Third, rotting animals does come into play but it takes 24 ingame hours before the carcass does begin to rot, plenty of time to find a trader and sell it. You should get 3.50 for the carcass and about the same for a perfect pelt, more than enough to cover the costs. To get rid of blood, change into a stored outfit on your horse (this won't get rid of dirt or grease) and brush down the horse.

Or just jump in water and swim a little, thatll do the job too 🏊
@TheAussieBlue5 жыл бұрын
@MadHatt3r oh yeah, most definitely that would work. But the horse is easier because it's right there, and there's no knowing where the animal you're hunting will take you.

I would suggest the yoga session from GTAV to be a bit too realistic. Rob a grocery store, pull off a few heists, and make sure to keep breathing while stretching. Luckily enough Rockstar makes it up to us afterwards with a drug-infused naked skydiving session.

The Getaway was an absolute masterpiece. That was one of my favorite games back in the day. It didn’t get nearly the credit it deserved.

Too realistic? Any racing game in VR causing you to let out an involuntary and embarrassing yelp when you spin towards a barrier and momentarily forget you're in a videogame.

Speaking of VR, how about Resident Evil: Biohazard??

I play Elite: Dangerous in VR, and let me tell you, dogfighting in asteroid fields can elicit a similar response. When stuck jousting against my opponent, I'll start to thrust in reverse to keep him in front of me. There have been more than a few times where I did a shoulder-check out of my cockpit windows and nearly shit myself because I was rushing up to an asteroid the size of a mountain at 345 meters/second.

Here in 2022, that joke about gas prices being $5 a gal hits a little different...

I kinda self-impose some realism in my Breath of the Wild playthrough by making an effort to make sure Link regularly sleeps, even when his health is full and I don't feel like splurging on the soft beds. That being said, it would be very annoying if I was forced to have him sleep every night, especially since you can't make your own beds so it'd be a lot of back-and-forth.

What was even worse in Shenmue II was when you had to fight your way up a skyscraper and you literally had to fight enemies for 80 storeys going up!

It's still alot for a videogame to show an actually skinned animal carcass...I mean it does have less blood, but still. Typically they cut away from that particular part, which is why it deserved mention here.

Red Dead 2's hunting isnt that realistic. If you wanted to mention hunting in games, you shouldve mentioned something like theHunter: Call of the Wild etc. On Red Dead 2 you can literally go around on your horse auto-locking onto every animal and thats it...

Well it would seem the game you're referring to is a hunting game. You'd expect the hunting to be more realistic if that's the main feature of the game, which it isn't in RDR 2.

I like how RDR2 is dealing with the Hunting, it's fun spending ingame days to hunt down my prey. GTA San Andreas was also pretty cool, first Game I ever played that made me fat by eating too much or gave me muscles when working out. KCD is hard first, the fighting is really weird at first, but you can get used to it, then it's actually fun.
