I love how the Meike cinema lenses (as well as BM Design) are putting professional film-making in the hands of ordinary people. They say companies like this are democratizing professional film-making. And it's because of companies like Meike that are making this high quality gear accessible to us indie-filmmakers --- that is truly making it an EXCITING TIME to be a film maker! To get the quality that a Meike and BMPCC4K was a dream for us years ago. Now, it's the perfect time to tell the stories we indie-film makers want to tell!

I first found your channel by searching for the original Blackmagic Pocket cinema camera. I originally got my pocket original when the price was slashed to $500.00. Purchased it, but did not have a computer that could run Davinci Resolve. The Irony of it all. Final cut is not Davinci Resolve. A little over a year ago I purchased a Mac Book Air M1, downloaded the free version of Davinci Resolve and slowly realize how truly awesome this little pocket camera can be.And a few months back, I purchased the pocket 4K. I am just so grateful to have what I have, and a little more time to make something beautiful. And I am so happy our Blackmagic paths have crossed. Please keep making beautiful things.

What’s great about Simon’s channel and especially this video is his simple and practical approach to filmmaking. I started out as an “iPhone cinematographer” yet just this month purchased the BMPCC 4K. I have been looking at the Meike 25mm t2.2 Cine Lens along with the BMPCC simple because the Meike Cine Lenses are a perfect marriage with the BMPCC 4K. If you’re new to filmmaking you can get high quality images with Meike lenses and focus on making films instead of focusing on only making films with equipment that is out of the price range for hobbyist filmmakers like Simon and myself. I’m sure this video has helped a lot of people especially if they are considering either the BMPCC 4K, the Meike lenses or wondering how well these MFT Cine lenses pair with the BMPCC. Thanks for great video!

Good review! I've just retired in the US and in May, I'm returning to my ancestral home on the small Island of St. Lucia in the Caribbean. There, I've been bringing local teenage girls with me on my filming adventures helping them learn how to use my BMPCC4K and teaching a bit of filmmaking during my short visits over the years. I share the use of all my own equipment. Unfortunately, I recently lost a good lens in a fall so a new Meike lens would certainly be appreciated. Your generosity would help me continue to show isolated kids in very poor communities what opportunity looks like! Anyway, keep up the good work!!

I've literally had this very lens in my Amazon cart for the past week! Only problem is having the funds to purchase it. I've been a video editor for some years now and recently (2 months ago) took the plunge into videography. I started with a new BMPCC4K, thinking it was affordably priced, until I quickly realized all the pieces and parts required for a decent rig. Would absolutely love adding that lens to my beginning collection. Thanks for a great review!

Hi Andrew, Thank you for participating! I actually dont rig my camera that much, i use a cheap Komputerbay 2.0 cfast card and this lens, and it can produce SO goo quality. I just got a kinotehnik viewfinder thingy, for when it is getting sunny outside. So i can see the screen, and i have the Gobe variable ND, which might be the cheapest ND. All in i think i am ~800$ on top of camera, so $2,000 total i think. Thats a lot of money! but it is compariably? cheap, if thats a word. Nice work with your review. Very precise and informative. The college I work for currently provides our students with a Rokinon EF set for the pocket 4K, and although I enjoy shooting on Rokinon, I’ve been pitching for them to switch to Meike. Just switched over to a BMPCC6k the day I am writing this comment. Having a lens like this means with that camera and a lens that you showcased is capable of incredible beauty in this review, there is absolutely no excuses to not create images I find impactful and meaningful. I would have everything and more to do so, but I need the practice. With that setup I would absolutely go and make excuses to shoot whatever I can just to get dirty with it. Shoot my bedroom, shoot for friends, shoot for free, etc. just so when I take it out on something with real stakes that I’m hoping to be impactful, it will have been through its paces and I can be ready to take it to another level each and every time I use it. Thanks for opportunity of this giveaway, your act and effort is not going unappreciated. With your help, I’m ready to create.

So there are 2 sides of this. IF you get a great speedbooster, like the metabones.. Then you enter a huge market of used lenses, that would be way cheaper, i think. maybe. and you get alot more light. But if you go with the Meike lineup in S35 the lenses are now 599 and not 399 .. so not only are the speedbooster expensive, but the lenses are also more expensive. I am sticking with the native mft for a while. if this channel ends up making me dough, i think i'd buy the speedbooster, to get more light tho. But the Metabones ultra costs the same as the bmpcc4k in Denmark, no kidding.
