I use this lens with my GH4 and it's just amazing. Great experience, smooth focus ring... great bokeh. The weight is just right, not breaking the mount or my arm but heavy enough to feel natural when shooting handheld. The only issue is the chromatic aberration which is quite apparent when shooting wide open with harsh sunlight.

Interesting friend, when you adjust the focus on these lenses, for long or short depth of field, are you also fiddling with the diaphragm at the same time? I mean, is it darkening or lightening the image at the same time, or is the diaphragm separate at the bottom of the camera, giving you separate control for each thing, could you talk more about that?

Thanks for the review ! Let's hope the rest of the Cine Kit they are releasing is the same quality. I've heard from other Meike user's that the front element is not that solid. What's your opinion about that ? (I'm talking about the plastic piece with the filter thread on the inside)

@@OfTwoLands Thanks that was quick! I'm super torn between the Lumix 12-35 and the Sigma 18-35. How did you fix the torn-by-wire focus on the lumix? And the zoom lense moving out of the body which makes it difficult to balance on a gimbal? Much appreciated, im a subscriber now xx

Awesome review as always. I have the 4k and I use a metabones, I love the extra light it provides but it's an EF mount. How much better is for example, the sigma 18-35 1.8, in low light vs the Meike ?

Hi Flo, I really love your videos and gear reviews. I also own a BMPCC 4k and I'm really loving it. How does the Meike 25mm T2.2 compare to your Contax Zeiss lenses?
@OfTwoLands3 жыл бұрын
Hey, thank you !! Hard to tell since I used the Meike 25mm on the 4K and using the Contax on the 6K so the sensor is different. I would say it depends more on how you want to use them. If you want that proper cinema lens experience (long focus throw, marking on the side, T Stop etc) get the Meike. The Contax are stills lenses so lighter and you can focus by hand. Both amazing lenses though :) !!

Since the Aperture is de-clicked, if you enable the auto-adjust IRIS on the BMPCC4K, will the aperture on-screen adjust seamlessly or abrupt like usual?

The auto iris won’t work since the lens is manual.
@SteveT__0015 жыл бұрын
Okay I have been trawling through reviews of the Meike lenses, but I think you have finally convinced me to buy it. I was thinking of preferring a full frame cine lens and speedbooster but the price point is a no brainer. Do you ever use it with a matte box? Only with a cine lens its kind of useful to avoid flare except when artistically desired of course but make the rig a bit less weildy, not sure if I should buy a matte box as well.
@neiloler5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the review, I really am impressed by the imagery you’ve captured with the BMPCC4K and the Meike 25mm cine lens. I was pretty set on getting the same exact setup, then the 6k version came out. Setting aside that I’m not even sure I’ve got the computer setup to handle a 6k workflow, I’ve also found it frustrating to see that even “budget” options for EF-Mount cine lenses are multiple thousands of dollars. While there are noticeable differences between the 4K and the 6K, your videos keep me coming back to the 4K + Meike setup being a great setup for my needs and my budget. Thanks for the awesome content and feedback. Looking forward to your thoughts on the 6K as well!
@OfTwoLands5 жыл бұрын
Thank you !! I am in the same situation, I am not entirely sure about the Pocket 6K haha. I do own a lot of EF lenses and a C200 so for me that is the reason I got it. You can always look into Ef-S and Sigma lenses. Stay tuned as the 6K should arrive soon :).
@raksh95 жыл бұрын
Depending on how you like to shoot, its entirely possible to build a set of high quality vintage lenses for the price of one modern lens. Matteo Bertoli shoots with the Canon FD 24mm f2.8, 70-210mm, and a focal reducer. Other lens possibilities include Minolta, Pentax and Chinon.
@OfTwoLands5 жыл бұрын
I also own and shoot with the canon FD lenses, including the 24mm 2.8. Great lenses, Meike is nicer in terms of shooting experience though and feels a lot better than the FD.
