Hi Bonnie . Why did you choose Nebraska machine ? Is it better then Treyco model 2000 ?

Get ready.... long answer. Maybe this should be a video, too. I use the Nebraska Blade machine because number one I really like and respect Bob Schiessl who is retired now, but created the Nebraska Blades machine. His video on how to sharpen is included with the machine. It's somewhat dated and this video is one of several I intend to produce on sharpening blades. Number two it has never failed me over the years and there is no one I know who has it who has not been pleased with it. I have heard mixed reviews on the Treyco but I also know blade sharpeners in the industry I respect who think the machine is great. I don't know if you could go wrong with either machine. Number three is the price. I think if cost was not a factor the Shop Machine produces some fine sharpening so I've been told. I have several respected sharpener friends who have that one. Some of our Scimech owners have that machine. However it is much more costly than the Nebraska Blades. Number four is it sharpens well. When I was more active in the National Beauty Tool Sharpeners Guild (I am still a member but not as active and have been certified in blades and shears) the winners consistently each year were using the Nebraska Blades machine. This may have been that the Australians usually ran away with the top score and they used Bob Schiessl's Nebraska Blades machine because they could not cart their equipment from Australia. However, I remember one year Ian from Australia had the top score using the Lil'Red, the tiny 10" machine. I'm not sure if all that proved to me the worth of the Nebraska Blade or the worth of skill, knowledge and experience. Number five is the Edge Pro Team who backs up the Nebraska Blades. When Bob Schiessl retired, the Jason Sturm family took over the production. They improved the machine. I have to say it also influenced me to change the color of our Scimech to "color coordinate" with both machines. ... I guess it's a girl thing. Jason Sturm and his son-in-law Brandon Smart are my go to with all questions about clippers and blades. Their videos are excellent... I suggest you subscribe and if they use the Nebraska Blades Hone with all the factory training, experience and expertise in that operation ... that's good enough for me. We have them at our Sharpeners Jam www.bonika.com/sharpeners-jam-atlanta-2020/ each year to teach blade sharpening and clipper repair. It is well worth being in one of their classes. Also, Josh Davis, ClipperPro was a channel on KZbin about blades I suggest you follow. He will be teaching the basic blade sharpening class at the Jam this year and with all his research he chose the Nebraska Blade. It's not that the other hones are bad or can't do the work, but for the overall quality for the money. I don't think it can be beat.
