bought one last year sure beats the hell outta trying to pull an otter resort by hand. Only issue I had was the muffler bolt studs like to back out of the block. with me all the gear and a kid it works like a charm. A little slow in deeper snow, but for the cost you really cant beat it

I have one just like yours, and everything you've gone over your exactly right, fuel efficient too, I studded my track with kold kutters what a difference, put on heated hand grips and I use my lawnmower battery, the one that came with the snowdog I feel is too small.
@MonkeyOnMyBackOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Thank you bud. I certainly do appreciate your support! I haven’t studded my tracks yet to save my shed, ramp and garage from getting too scratched up, though I’ve thought of it! I do feel a battery with more capacity wouldn’t hurt. I’ve also been eyeing some hand grip warmer kits. 😂 Tight lines and be safe on the ice!

I'm considering building one, off season. I think I've defeated most of the gremlins that my sled has from sitting for a few years. Nice machine but way too much for what I want. You hit the big reasons.
@MonkeyOnMyBackOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
I will eventually get a newer Yamaha sled for longer runs in more isolated areas I plan on hitting but not for a while. Storage is the main issue right now and the Snowdog does a great job at ice fishing. Thanks for watching!

@MonkeyOnMyBackOutdoors Жыл бұрын
@@benjiang6493 I’ve been using it for three seasons now no problems. The sag issues I had were from the suspension leaf springs which I resolved with RAS helper springs. It is 320 lbs leveraged 4-6ft behind the rear axel. That is a lot of leverage on the suspension.

Looking at a 2017 model with reverse but you need to engage the lever in the front of the machine. Any experience with this?
@MonkeyOnMyBackOutdoors Жыл бұрын
The lever on the cvt transmission is what the rear lever connects to. You may need to adjust the cable or it may be sticky inside the cable sleeve. Some people run a lubricant through the cable jacket to loosen it up and get rid of trapped moisture in the cable jacket.

What are some the issues you run into after owning it?
@MonkeyOnMyBackOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Great question. On this particular model the engine mount may slide a bit loosening the chain. The chain is tensioned by sliding the engine mount plate back and tightening the mount plate bolts. This is not too much of an issue and the design was improved to resolve this on the white “sport” model. Other than that the machine has been fairly trouble free.

Hi. In Your opinion this hitch carrier is enough strong to travel with 310lb snowdog on this ?
@MonkeyOnMyBackOutdoors Жыл бұрын
It is a tad wobbly but I have had no issues the past two seasons. The only concern would be the leverage it puts on the rear suspension. 320 lbs of weight held 4-5 feet back from the rear of the bumper. I had to get a set of RAS Leaf Spring helpers for my Tundra.

I’m sold! What gas can are you using and how did you mount it to the Snowdog? How long does a tank of fuel typically last you?
@MonkeyOnMyBackOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Hello there! Here is the gas can I used: Esploratori 5L 1.3 Gallon Gas Can Fuel Oil Petrol Storage Cans Emergency Backup Tank with Mounting Bracket for Car Motorcycle UTV SUV ATV Off Road Most Cars (Red) a.co/d/fhXERJ5 A tank of fuel 1.7 gallons lasts me for more than I’ve ever needed. I’ve heard people say on the forums a tank will go anywhere from 25-30 miles depending on your load which is about 14 mpg or so which is consistent with a engine of this size. Tight lines!
