Usually this site doesn’t get it right as I have noticed. The good news for Nissan they haven’t had numerous recalls and the truck has been solid. It tows ok and the engine is reliable and solid for a truck. Fuel mileage is just ok for a truck, but Chevy’s new 4 cylinder turbo gets worse fuel mileage than the previous model. Not that I was buying one of them either. The Gladiator and Frontier would be my choice at this time and with cost and interest rate I at this time am a not to buying a vehicle.

I was originally interested in the TACO but with the build now in Mexico where workers are paid 1/6 that of American workers and the massive price increase, turbo only, and problems with the latest gen, I looked at the Frontier for the first time. Bought a 2024 Pro-X and love everything except start/stop. The Frontier is a built like a TRUCK should be before all the I want heated and cooled seats, steering wheel, radio knobs, etc. became what people looked for in a truck. The primary overriding reason to get a truck is to haul, tow, reliability. Everything else is fluff.

I own one. I love it and it does not suffer from exploding transmissions and Turbos. The V6 has plenty of juice and who cares where they put the buttons? The point here is that the Frontier is proven and if maintained correctly, it will go to 250K with zero issues. A 2005 platform is exactly what I want. BTW, I traded in my 2021 Tacoma SR5 for a fully equipped Frontier for a lot less $

Disable start-stop You can disable the auto start/stop feature on the 2022-2024 Nissan Frontier using a start/stop eliminator. While automatic start/stop technology can help improve fuel efficiency, it can also create additional wear on the main engine.

You forgot the paid sponsorship notice by Toyota. Just saying. I had both a Taco and Frontier (22/23) and purchasing a second Frontier for 25 so yes, TWO frontiers. Liked the truck way better than the Taco. Price point is good as the Pro 4x that I ordered has a Taco Equivelant of 20K more, in Texas. A True V6, and in 25, longbed on any trim level....yes, and yes.

Regretfully both the Tacoma and Ranger have been experiencing serious recalls. Toyota’s quality has taken a nose dive with its smaller turbo engines that still have a lot of kinks to work out. All of the Tundras had to have an entire engine swap this year! Rams aren’t doing any better. So with serious malfunctions and recalls with Toyota, Ford and Ram the keep it simple tried and true Frontier today is the sole survivor. With a V6 engine and lower price point it really isn’t much of a choice anymore until Toyota can get their act together.

I have a 2023 Frontier with 11K on it now. Excellent truck. I'm glad they left the tried and proved alone. Its a truck not a princess mobile. Very happy with the 6 non turbo. Plenty of power and no crossed fingers hoping the 4 banger doesn't drop a rod or the turbo doesn't go out. BTW I'm a Toyota fan with two Toyotas parked in the driveway. Not so much with the new Toyota trucks.

The Frontier rides on a proven platform, powered by a naturally aspirated v6, no turbo to worry about. It offers more configurations than others, has everything you need, nothing you don't. Its more than capable to handle what off roading and towing that most people will ever need to do. In a world where the Honda Ridgeline would suffice for most folks, the Frontier is perfectly capable to handle most needs. There, I fixed it for you...

Literally, most of these problems exist in literally every other off-road trim of every midsize truck lol. The only one you were somewhat correct on was that its the least capable off-road in stock trim compared to the rivals(But still plenty capable). The TRD Pro has a bit more ground clearance and the Trailhunter is better than both on a slow crawl trail. However, the ZR2, Gladiator, and Ranger Raptor are all far superior off-road than the Taco or Pro4x. Their price tag reflects that also. With one exception. If you don't mind the lack of the premium audio and no underbody cameras, you can get a new ZR2 for mid-40k. Found quite a few at dealers for that price. To be fair though, I would want the extra off-road cameras and the premium audio. I have the Frontier Pro4x and love it. Least expensive and with a proven N/A V6, I will have long-term reliability on my side the others wont. The Taco has already had a TON of problems on top of being high-60k for the PRO and Trailhunter.

Stupid video. None of these are deal breakers for me and I'm buying one this week. Here's why. I'm not on a race track that I need a perfect driving experience. Passenger space? Just my wife and I and our dog. Fuel economy? I can afford it. Standard features and ergonomics? I'm driving a 2011 Chevy Traverse, anything is an improvement. Off road performance? The most off roading I will do is gravel roads and my long snowy driveway in the winter. Towing capacity? My enclosed trailer is under the towing weigh limit. There you have it. If you had said that the engine and transmissions are blowing up at 15,000 miles then I may have reconsidered.

There is nothing wrong with the F-Alpha platform. It has hydraulic steering. That is the way steering should feel. The electric power steering is a joke. I had the 2010 Pro4X I bought new in 2010. Those VQ engines are good to over 500k. I had mine for 13 years and still looked new. Got compliments all the time. Just how I keep my vehicles. My wife totalled it out December 2022. I miss that truck. Would have drove it rest of my life. Im 58. Only had 100k on it. The new Frontier may not be as polished as other newer trucks, but I dont trust the turbo 4s putting out all that power getting 500k. Too much pressure being pumped out of these small engines. The VQs are proven design. Pretty much same engine as before just more refined and fix known issues.
