I actually know a couple of Nissan Engineers and one of them has one of these to tow his racecar. He said the 3.8 is the most reliable in their lineup. The highly underrated pickup on the market offers the most reliable design with the 3.8L VQ38DD engine. It may not stand out in terms of performance, but it's part of the legendary VQ engine series, known for their indestructibility. Just don’t forget to install an oil catch can, as the direct fuel injection is the only minor downside to this engine’s reliability. Love this Frontier. I simply do not care that it is not as powerful, or fast, or has as much ground clearance as the other midsize trucks. In fact, that's why I like it. It's a simple big displacement V6. Andre summed it up best; it's an honest truck. I also think it's the best looking midsize as well. I'm so glad they added telescoping wheel as well for 2025. If this had ProPilot it'd be sitting in my driveway right now Nissan! Also, it's not a deal breaker, but please put some cameras on this truck that have better resolution!

I'll keep saying it - maybe someone is focus grouping this at nissan usa - the coolest and cheapest way nissan could get the frontier to stand out from the rest of the class is to install the 5.6 v8 from the titan and armada which is just lying around after those models have been discontinued.

Sad. So a Pro4X long bed looks capable, but only has a payload rating of 940 pounds. That is pathetic. If you had a trailer in the 5,000 pound range the truck would be maxed-out with the trailer and one or two people but no other luggage. Claiming a tow rating over 7,000 does not allow for a good tongue weight plus people. I will buy a truck in a few months and for a long time had planned to get a mid-size such as the Frontier. Hey guys, I have the 2022 model and yes, the 6 foot bed is a game changer. I wish mine had a 6 foot bed with the full cab that I have what I mean is full size cab I should say. The grill update is going silly, especially since it’s not functional. As far as the engine goes, I’ve been driving this thing for three years now I’ve bought it in 2021. I have 72,000 miles on it and no issues. It’s a great engine. Why change anything if the engine perfect is perfect, I am glad that they are changing the head unit display because mine is crap and it’s already broken. I also wish Nissan would increased our warranty to 100,000 miles 36,000 miles. I cross that in the first year and after that, my car is out of warranty, so that sucks as far as the rest of the truck it’s great you almost forget about the non-telescoping steering wheel. It just goes up and down and also I have the SV so in 2022, which just model Yaris you should have only LED headlights and mine does not, if you wanna upgrade to the same headlights as the pro 4X you can buy them for $1000 each light so two grand just to upgrade your headlights. You can get them used on eBay I guess all right I’m talking too much. this is a great truck do not change the engine, unless you wanna put a V8, I will be sweet

Towing 5k lbs. this Frontier has less than 500 lbs. payload remaining. A Ridgeline towing the same load has about 1k lbs. payload remaining. And the top spec. Ridgeline is significantly less expensive. Which one is a "real truck"?
@davidjernigan8161Ай бұрын
Not the Ridgeline. It has no frame
@Jackmerius_TacktheretrixАй бұрын
Depends on how you use it. If you're working off pavement alot, the frontier will hold up better because the suspension is much stronger. But, if you're on pavement, the Ridgeline makes more sense, and that is bed lockable storage that can be used as a cooler is great. I live in a rural area with almost 4 miles of dirt road that can be rough, so the frontier would be more ideal long term. However. If I lived in the Ciry and didn't offroad on anything rougher than a dirt road, the Ridgeline would be my choice.
@mattwebb6437Ай бұрын
The Ridgeline has a use case, but nowhere near as robust as a truck with a frame. If you overload, you may total the Ridgeline, regular frame trucks will bend frame or damage axle.

The engine is not underpowered for the loads this truck can haul. I think people forget that half ton trucks just 15-20 years ago were barely getting over 300 horsepower and torque. This engine has plenty of power and more than double the gear ratios than those older trucks. Everyone is just spoiled by the power of modern turbocharged engines.

I prefer the pre-facelift design. The facelift looks tacky and overwrought with the added black plastic front and rear. That aside, the Frontier is my #1 pick among midsize trucks.
