I have had 4 Balinese cats for over 36 years (2 sets each time) and they were the best cats I have ever owned. They are highly intelligent my wife taught them more than 20 commands. Once they establish a pattern it will be for life they will when to get up and when to go to bed once they learn your pattern. One cat lived 18 years, 2 lived 15 years, and one only 6 years. I am 75 years old and seeking my 5th Balinese.

How wonderful, I just got a Balinese kitten about a month ago, he is now three months old. He is the sweetest thing you could imagine! Yes he likes to follow me everywhere but that's much better than a cat who is aloof and hides under the bed all the time. I'm not sure where you're located but I found mine at a wonderful breeder in Connecticut, if you want info I can send it to you. How did your wife teach the cats so many commands? And so sorry to hear that you had one for only six years :-(

My Balinese cat is exactly like this. He stays within 1-2 meters from me. If I leave him at the balcony to play, he will start meowing loudly to enter the house. When I come back from work and time to let him in, he will nag me. Yes, nag! A long howling-like meow, complaining 😅. He talks all the time and wants me to stay right by his side when he eats. He stops eating if I leave 😂. He does not like staying alone. Always need a company…😊 I love him!❤❤

I became the owner of two kittens 2 winters ago. Now was not by choice, I happen to be out on my side porch. I looked up from working on replacing the flooring just in time to see this beautiful purebred Siamese cat with two tiny kittens running behind her to keep up. So being the animal lover I am and it is the beginning of winter, I grab a bundle of blankets, run to the local market and buy a large name-brand mother and kitten food. Raced home open the garage door only to find the two kittens huddled together on the concrete floor. I moved slowly to them but the little Siamese kitten ran away to hide behind a bike I am working on. While the Balinese moved a good distance. But he watched me make a bed of the bundle of blankets. Then I went about filling three bowls of cat food. One for each of them even though I did not see the mother cat anywhere around. I left the shop light on and closed the garage door so they could get in and out. By the end of winter and the beginning of Spring, I was able to pick up the Balinese (male) I named Si-I-Am. He took to living in the house with no trouble. My Little Siamese was not so easy I finally had to use a trap and release cage. She is the most beautiful cat I have ever seen. I named her Nekko is Japanese for cat. Has been almost 1 yr and 1/2 She will let me pet her for a minute, and she will take treats from my hand. Oh, and she and her brother had two kittens a boy and a girl. Only this time the girl is Balinese and her brother is Siamese. Never been sorry I found them and that They have made my life a little happier every day.

You have made me want one more😅. I need a high energy cat for my own health, I want it indoors only except for walks, I want to be able to train it, I need a cat that can be close to me most of the time, and since they are good with other animals so this is good. The change will need to take some time since I plan to take it to collage. I also like vocal cats since they can keep me in the real world and not just un my head.

I can sign under each and every word the author said. We've had 2 Balinese cats over the period from 1997 till 2022. Intelligent - yes. Vocal - yes. Socialized - yes!!! And plus one reason you suould get a Balinese cat: they are hypoallergenic! People with allergies will definitely not recact to their fur as to the fur of other cats.

My Balinese cuddles with me and my wife in the crook of my arm he’s a big boy beautiful and very sweet. He has no voice he whispers and absolutely knows what I’m saying to him he knows how to communicate with us to tell us what he needs. He’s the most amazing animal I have ever known. I would easily give up years off my life for him to live extra time. One thing about this video is true is he absolutely despises change. He turns into an emotional wreck when we move he cannot stand car rides.

My mom has a 2 year old Balinese cat named, Missy. Missy isn't the best cat I've been around but wow she is crazy pretty and... regal.. she moves like her poop doesn't stink.. like a diva. My mom has chosen to give it free reign to be an indoor and outdoor cat. Missy is a 6.5/10 killer. Maybe she learned it from my parents' other recently deceased barn cat but she brings in some alive animal 3-4 times a week. Missy isn't vocal, she isn't particularly affectionate, but she is bonded to my mom though. The only time I can pet her is when I give her food or cat treats. You can't touch her paws and she has never exposed her belly for petting that I've seen. She is always around but just out of reach. I'm thinking of getting a cat for myself but I think I'd be more happy with a tabby. Oh yeah... forgot to mention she is wicked smart.. almost too smart.

Well, I'll be one of the first to comment then :) Our non-pedigree long haired siamese is now almost 3 years old. She looks almost exactly like a typical Balinese, but we know she's non-pedigree. She's a relatively easy going cat. Loves to play but is happy just chilling out. She definitely has her favourite person. I wouldn't say she's extremely active though. Very curious though, always gotta check things out that you're doing. She's also not very vocal. She has a set of lungs when she needs to be loud, but rarely is. She loves to purr a lot though. She also prefers that you rub her tummy. She isn't a fan of being pet on the head though, but loves tummy rubs.

I don’t see any reasons why anyone should not get a Balinese cat as opposed to other cats. I’ve had 5 cats at one time of different breeds and they all had these same characteristics. Some characteristics were more dominant in some than others but I think that just goes along with each cat’s personality. Two were tuxedo domestic short hair: one sticks to me like glue and the other was incredibly intelligent. All of them were very loving. Another one (British short hair) loves to answer every question I asked her. They are so funny but each one has a different personality like humans do.

I have 2 Balinese cats (Louis and Maurice) and we wanted a Siamese for hypoallergenic reasons but we just fell in love with this breed. They are sassy and vocal but we find ourselves gawking over them and appreciating their affection enormously, overall amazing cat breed which I dont think we will ever stray from. They have so much personality and are GORGEOUS animals. Our two boys keep me and my wife entertained for hours. Would highly recommend. edit: our first cat was super socialized with dogs and children from birth and is the chilliest animal I have ever seen, he will let himself get mauled without bother, our second was not and we are still working with him to be okay around dogs 4 months in. So from experience, socialize early.

I feel bad for my balinese cat, my mom lets all of the cats out and leaves the door open everyday during the summer and she can't bare to hear him cry and he will keep crying until we let him out and he will even wake you up at night with his loud meows, because he wants out, he is mostly gone all the time and is never inside and he tries to greet anyone that walks up the street and doesn't care who it is. We lost him a couple of times and found him at the humane society. He even went to our friends house that was a couple blocks away just because he wanted him to come to our house to let him in, so he was scratching on my friends door at 10pm at night, He cries to go outside but 2 minutes later he cries and wants in and can't make up his mind. and then he fights with all the other cats in our house and our small kitten/ teen kitten is the only one that gets along with him and our small kitten/teen kitten loves to go on his back and is very playful.

High rate of theft. They'll do ok outside until they get too confident and smart which is usually an issue, walking into homes, being misidentified as homeless, taking off their collars, heading out too far. I suggest getting yours chipped.

Absolutely don’t support having animals chipped. If you’re worried about having your cat stolen, you have worse problems in your life. Our cats are micers at our work shed and all of the neighbors know him. He’d probably get eaten before stolen, and even then the odds are on his side.

How do these cats steal with being left alone if the owner travels?
@kat3270 Жыл бұрын
this is inaccurate. ive had a male balinese cat for 9 years, hes the best cat ive ever owned. all kittens will be active and restless, once he matured he calmed down, as all cats do. as long as you have a large scratching post with a lot for the cat to do and also own a cat flower fountain, your cat will be more than entertained if you cant give it attention. he sometimes wants to come hangout in my room but he sees that im on the phone or on a zoom call and leaves. he knows when its the appropriate time to talk, and i trained him how to sit and stay. hes super outgoing and he is protective of me, he recognizes if im hostile towards someone. hes only hissed twice the past 9 years, one time my friend scared me and i screamed super loudly and he was im not kidding- SCREAMING and hissing at her. and once when he was young, he got really overwhelmed with the amount of people because my family was hosting a party. hes super patient, he makes it clear when hes annoyed by the tone of his voice. and his purr is so loud, its apparent when hes happy. hes incredibly respectful, kind, outgoing, intelligent, etc. i would highly recommend keeping your balinese indoors ONLY! just have enough places for your cat to jump up on and play. if you have the space, then i highly suggest adopting a balinese cat.

This presentation is very misleading. I have an 11 year Balinese. She is not vocal, she loves to sit in my lap, she has never had a mat in her fur - even with brushing once a week - she has shown no desire to go outside. She does not like guests in the house, nor does she prefer the company of the other 2 cats. She would love to be the only cat. Not all cats are alike. This is just what I have observed with my little one. I would recommend a Balinese, but not based on this video.

@stitchedpumpkin5905 Жыл бұрын
Number 3 is a picture of a ragdoll, not a Balinese. Ragdolls will have a bit of white, or all white, on their chins whereas a Balinese will never ever have white on their chin tip (but do not use the lips as a determining factor since Siamese can have white at the lips). Number 4 shows a Balinese yawning but should also note they are very BITEY cats; not really a deterrent since they can be trained to bite gently but not so great for owners who panic at that trait. NUMBER 6 SHOULD NOTATE THAT IT CAN TAKE A BALINESE 6 TO 8 MONTHS TO ADAPT TO CHANGE.

This one time we lost our balinese cat, and a bunch of teenagers took him up the street, and then they took him to the humane society and they left him at the humane society all night, because they were closed, we called the humane society and they said we found your cat, he was waiting outside at the humane society door early in the morning. and we called so many people and even knocked on everyones door to find him and posted facebook pictures, and the second time we lost him was when he climbed up top and got onto a roof and found him stuck in a gutter and was dehydrated and our neighbor from a couple blocks had him in a cage and already had found him a new home, so when I knocked on everyones door, we were lucky that we found him in time. thanks to god amen!!! now he just leaves our house and will be gone for months or weeks and will come back home. He only stays for a couple of minutes and leaves again, we always see him with our neighbor next door and he follows our neighbor around while he is cutting the grass.
