SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET! Fist time I took my 800 to the river I pulled 2 gold rings out in 30 mins underwater, well not really under water it was waist deep only and used my poop scoop.

Wow! Thank you so much for that fast reply! And thank you so much for that awesome wisdom regarding changing the tone to tone 20! I never thought of that! That is an awesome idea! I have used the Minelab's Koss and the LS Pelso. Both were very very under water. I have two of The equinox 800 and I am going to switch out the headphones to see if maybe the one that I've been using is not working properly with the underwater headphones because I'm getting almost hardly any signal and it doesn't match up to people like you and others that have dived under the water with their headphones and they are not complaining as much. Thank you so very much. Keep up the work and I will subscribe!

Brian Rudolph haha no worries 👍 something to check is that there is no water in the jack, it’ll make them a LOT quieter if water is in there. The LS pelso headphones use real speakers which compress in the water so they get really quiet, the yellow Koss ones won’t get too much quieter in the water though. The headphones I use in this video are hand made by me haha, I’m going to be making them and selling them n the coming months. The link to my store is in the description but I have a lot of US dealers who will be picking them up too 👍

To be honest I’ve only used this faulty one so I can’t comment for sure. So far they have similar abilities but I’d have to guess in trashy areas the equinox would be much more capable of separating iron from non iron.

Headphones are required. You can not hear the speaker very well underwater.

Brian Rudolph hey mate, I can hear the targets ok but the Equinox is very quiet with all waterproof headphones unfortunately. If you are using the yellow Minelab ones then I suggest you change to 2 tone and just use tone 20 as it is the loudest for those headphones.

I did use waterproof headphones that I made but I wouldn’t recommend taking the Equinox underwater without warranty. I ended up flooding a few Equinox’s!

@@TreasureAdventure shame minelab don't do a waterproof additional protection cover , will maybe look at getting a proper waterproof detector and using the 800 just for the beach as planning on doing a lot of diving with a detector, I do have a nokta pulsedive which is quite good

CountryHitsUSA thanks, yeah the nox does have issues in the water. It’s not reliably built for underwater use and will flood after some use. (I’ve flooded multiple)

nice video ED my Equinox flooded with water the first time i got it wet only wading and Minelab replaced it under warranty . now I have built a waterproof case for it so I can take it way below the 3 meters and not be worried about it .I have also redesigned my hookah so it runs on petrol now as I had issues with the electric one mainly with the batteries running low and carking it. Cheers Philbo! Mine flooded after about 50hours underwater use! It started early with rust coming out of the speaker grill and the speaker not workin and then eventually died. The new one doesn’t seem to have these issues though and is holding up so far. Hmmm, very interested in this waterproof housing, where can I find out more about this? Yeah the lead acids don’t like running low even deep cycle and AGM have limited lives under those conditions. Very keen to see what you’ve done for the equinox box if you’d like to email me [e-mail] we can share details 👍

OUTATIME yep always got enough weight that I’ll sink even with a full breathe and 5mm steamer, in rougher conditions I’ll use more weight so the waves don’t move me around 👍

thanks mate, it was a fantastic day! i use the equinox on a carbon shaft so I can shorten it further and i have waterproof heasphones which I made myself :)
