I watched this on replay, and glad I did, because I took so many notes in my commonplace planner!!

Thank you so much, Alaina, for this very helpful video. I love the underlying philosophy behind the routines. That gives purpose and provides motivation to build a strong foundation. You would probably enjoy the book "When the Body Says No" by Dr. Gabor Mate, MD. If we don't learn to say no, our body will say no for us, in the form of "dis - ease". I like it when movement and social connection coincide in a Walking Club or a Line Dance class. Beautiful bonds form over time. We have social events, travels, or meals together, too. Last Friday, our walking group (34 of us) went to a Chinese Buffet for lunch. In May, our Line Dancing group is planning a Cruise (a day trip) among the 1000 Islands on the St. Lawrence River. Both groups have very positive outlooks on life.

This was such an insightful class! I particularly loved the personal development and social routines. They really helped me think about structuring things that I want to do but never quite get to. I found so much value in your video I've just subscribed to your channel. Looking forward to watching more of your content!

I am so so grateful that these live videos are available to come back to if we can't catch them the day of! I love the tidbits of wisdom that come along with the actual advise, and how you delve into the how *and* why we need to do certain things to better ourselves. I was just curious, have you ever read any books or done research when big shifts in routines need to happen? I've been following this channel for over 3 years so it's possible that you have and I've just forgotten. 😜 I only ask because I've recently switched from being on a 4x10 schedule, working from 11am-10pm w/W-F off and am now working M-F 8am-5pm. For the most part I have my new routine figured out, but the going to bed earlier has been tougher than I'd expected. I'm okay with getting up earlier, but going to bed around 10-10:30 has been a fight since that was when I used to get off from work and then I'd be up til 1am or even later sometimes. I know you've talked about seasons of life in the past so I'm just wondering if this is considered the same thing? Thank you for everything you do Alaina!

The stage of life you are at can make a differrence to your ability to get a good rest routine. A mother of 4 will have a greater challenge planning rest, as opposed to an empty nester like myself. I still work, but I have now assigned a day when I do absolutely nothing. My husband will do his own breakfast on that day and dinner is warmed over meals made from some day before.

Hi I feel that rest day has to do a.lot.with our childhood least for me. We were very poor as a kid and saw it in my parents, but they also put it in us.to work hard. As a kid i had to go river and get water, and many other tasks. So now when I wake up late.i.feel I'm lazy,so definitely do a video on rest. I'm getting better at resting but I think many people struggle with it. My friend for example work all time last April he died of cancer, same thing it was instill in him to always wotk. Thank you for these videos.

I was able to watch and re-watch the video, and I am reading the book mentioned. It had a lot of great information by the way! Also at the end of the video you mentioned social and rest logs… I so look forward to that. It appears I too need to ensure I logged it or else it appears I did not prioritize them into my schedule. Great work as always Alaina🫶🏼
