A good video wiith helpful advice. I have one question in regards to the rule in using the full term before being allowed to use acronyms. At some point is it required to write out the full term when a book or magazine article is exceptionally large. Like for example, I would think that a book dealing with JFK or the CIA would warrant more than their formal introductions to justify writing out the full term of their name. If I'm writing a book about John F. Kennedy, I know that I'm going to be using his full name more than once. At some point, it's easy to lose track of the formalized version of a person or group's name if we're dealing with large books, for example.

@@IBRAHIM_ORTON Yes, these are all correct. We use simple past for something that happened and was finished in the past. As I told you before, we use past perfect only when we have two or more things in the past and need to show which one came first.
@IBRAHIM_ORTON3 жыл бұрын
@@LearnAcademicEnglish so my dearest teacher if I use past simple only and not past perfect cuz I could use past perfect with past simple + before .like I didn't go cuz I had seen it . Or I didn't go cuz I saw it before The reasons behind to use only past simple are..... 1. We could use past simple to show one event happened and finished . 2. To show events happened in sequence. 3. To use it like past perfect ... Like I did it cuz I had seen it . Or I did it cuz I saw it before . Or I did it cuz I saw it already . 4. And we could also use past simple for showing one event happened a long time ago . Like I did it 3 million ago . I completed it already . I saw it much earlier . Am I correct there??? Best wishes from one of your student Ibrahim

@LearnAcademicEnglish3 жыл бұрын
Abbreviations are short forms of words that we use in texts and when we are taking notes. Here are some examples: ppl = people, u = you, vocab = vocabulary, prof = professor
