I can confirm that Costco will save you ~$5-10 per fill up. Also if you use your citi costco card you get 4% back in March. I got back $300 this year with the basic membership that’s $60.

I do gig work part-time and costco gasoline is a lifesaver. In my area it's $0.20 to $0.25 cheaper per gallon than local gas stations right off the top. Then with the business membership you get 2% back and with the costco visa you get another 4% back on top of that. It's roughly a 12%-15% discount on fuel. If you drive even a modest amount the membership will easily pay for itself and then some, even if you never go into the warehouse.

It also saves a lot of gas to make right turns instead of waiting for a light to change to make a left turn. The reason is because you waste more gas idling than you would just to continue moving. This is a good trick for people that drive in congested cities like San Francisco, New York, etc. That is what a lot of the major delivery companies do. You can also set your Google Maps app to arrive on the right side (passenger side) which usually results in mostly right-hand turns being made. Just a few tips from a former Lyft driver. 😉😉

Yes but you can turn your AC on for 10 minutes, get the car down to 60° and then turn it off for 15 minutes until your car warms up again. While it's off your AC compressor won't run at all so you'll be getting 10 minutes of slightly worse fuel milage than windows down, but then 15 minutes of great fuel mileage. With the windows down you have to keep them down to get the benefit

Mobile phone and hotspot pricing changes frequently and the actual “deals” are often not what they seem...example: their marketing of the word “unlimited”. “Unlimited” with conditions like slower system response rates at a certain level, prioritization vs other carrier customer plans, etc. And often, the program offered for a phone plan will not apply to the carriers mobile hotspot devices (like a Jetpack). Are there really unlimited plans available without these backdoor conditions? Perhaps The Deal Guy can uncover them?
@SCRWDVR3 жыл бұрын
Gas early in the day as opposed to mid day does not matter, It's not the outside temperature that matters when buying the gas, it's the temperature of the gasoline being pumped. Gasoline at service stations is stored in large holding tanks buried underground at the station. These storage tanks are well sealed, and being deep underground, the ground acts as an insulator. The (relatively) rapid weather and daily shifts in surface temperature will have a very slow effect on the temperature deep underground. The high thermal mass of the ground means that the temperature in the storage tank will vary little between the day and night. Even a rapid swing in temperature from a sub freezing morning to a bright sunny afternoon on the surface will have a negligible effect on the temperature many feet underground (The temperature inside caves remains pretty constant throughout the year for the same reasons). So, what this means is that the outside temperature, when you refill your tank, has no impact on the volume of fuel you get.
