A thing no one seemed to have noticed (or at least I never saw it being mentioned elsewhere) is, that when Link receives the Purah-Pad right at the start of the game from that construct, the pad is in a little box draped with a piece of cloth. If we’re talking about lore details, I think I’ve noticed one too. When the temple bosses die, you see them spew out a bunch of malice. Not gloom, malice. It’s especially noticeable with Seized Construct. The stuff coming out of it is clearly purple and not red. I think this is pretty strong evidence for the idea that malice is a weakened form of gloom and not a unique substance.
@xinpingdonohoe3978 Жыл бұрын
Didn't CaC say that water was infected and became Malice pools? If so, Malice would literally be watered-down Gloom. And from there, watering it down even further makes Sludge, that's only really harmful to those with bad sensitivity.
@MrBigShot264 Жыл бұрын
That’s a really interesting idea, considering it also has a purple glow. However, if sludge really is watered down malice, it doesn’t make sense how you can wash it away with even more water. Also, there is a chance the “malice is water” line is mistranslated. Plus, it doesn’t make sense how Calamity Ganon could be made out of water when it flies and acts like a gas in its boar form and acts like a solid when you fight the blight Ganons and Calamity Ganon in Hyrule Castle
@xinpingdonohoe3978 Жыл бұрын
@@MrBigShot264 it does make sense. It's already watered-down to the point where it only harms Zora. Force a lot of water into it very quickly and the Gloom-water ratio will suddenly drop. Not enough Gloom to hold together all the water means it just collapses; the water wins. The chance of mistranslation is low. The Japanese also use 水 to mean water, and nothing else. I'll try and find the Japanese book online to test a translation, but the specific topic makes me think it's a solid conversion. Malice is a very viscous liquid. Staying in shape wouldn't be too difficult for it. If you aren't convinced though, then here's another explanation. Sheikah tech is created to mirror Sheikah magic. The Malice on the various Ganons looks like it's acting as an adhesive, forced in place. might require some level of psychic power to hold it together, so to see whether tech could theoretically do that we see if Sheikah can do that. We can look to Master Kohga, or we can look to various Sheikah Monks: Maz Koshia, Mo'a Keet, Hila Rao, Rota Ooh, Ze Kasho etc. all demonstrate the necessary ability. As for his ghastly form, he has great energy. Great energy can be proportional to great heat. His magical strength would let him evaporate the water in any form he takes and transcend to a cloud-like form.
@Chubby_Bub Жыл бұрын
@@xinpingdonohoe3978 Malice isn't just the tainted water pools. The pools are water that came into contact with Malice, but Malice itself is some sort of pure essence that's Calamity Ganon's grudge and hatred; it's literally what he's made of. And AoC shows he can carry fragments of himself in it, in a way. It is worth noting that in TotK when Impa says "The Calamity was the Demon King of ancient times, brought back to existence in the form of hatred manifest." where English uses "hatred", Japanese uses 怨念 which is the actual word for Malice in BotW.

@@Chubby_Bub it's his essence, but the source (Ganondorf) is still being sealed underground. That ethereal floating stuff is still Malice, as are the vortexes and the other things useable by Calamity Ganon in the alternate timeline, but I was mainly referencing the Malice that behaves like TotK's Gloom on the floor (and Sludge). It's the most prominent, harmful and directly noticeable.

The Silent Princess has already been confirmed to be from Zelda's tears from her dragon form, you see this from her final tear. I also like to think that the name was passed on generation after generation since the sacrifice was made by those who saw it. Eventually it's meaning being forgotten but not the name. Since she can't talk hence the name ''silent princess''. Zelda seems to have made it her favorite flower before TOTK, ignorant of what it meant which is a interesting destiny thing if you think about it. I guess she was just drawn to it because it came from her which all fits.
@Erikuzuma Жыл бұрын
Did she create Silent Princess flowers in the flashback? The way I remember it she shed her tears in dragon form which became the Dragon's Tears, and then when Link came to in present day he was surrounded by Silent Princesses. I don't think Silent Princesses were shown in any scene that took place in the past.
@Reimu_Kirisame Жыл бұрын
@@Erikuzuma The final tear was made in present time, when Link was alive. When he got all of the memories. Then afterwards a cutscene is shown where Zelda flies above Link, and sheds the final tear on the spiral circle island. In the scene in the past where Zelda transformed and shed the tears that spread around the country, it was never actually shown if they produced silent princess or not. I believe they did, but those tears were made in the past and the flowers might have died out or were moved (by bees or fairies who knows). I also think they're not present in the future because the creators probably thought it would be too obvious otherwise the tears came from Zelda. I think the final tear is key to seeing where the flower originated from. They appeared when Link saw the final memory. Just that says enough in my opinion. It's just my idea of how the flower came to be based on what was shown, I could be wrong of course but it's more likely this way than what Zeltik proposed I believe.
@andrewg.3281 Жыл бұрын
@Reimu_Kirisame I think the light dragon has the power to create silent princesses, but silent princesses already existed beforehand since they were present in BotW while the light dragon was not. For example, the floating islands and the glyphs were because of Zelda since they only showed up after she went into the past. Her going into the past changed the present instead of the time travel having always happened. There are some inconsistencies with it like the light dragon flying around before Link sends the master sword back and Ganondorf knowing Link when he wakes up before Zelda goes back in time, but those might be answered by Zelda becoming a dragon without the master sword and maybe Sonia sees the future with her secret stone and tells Rauru or something. They aren't amazing explanation, but I think they still work and I think that's how the timeline works in this game

That was some really cool stuff to consider! The musical bit at the end was especially haunting, but cool. I do have a different take on the masks worn by the sages, though. I personally don't think that we're meant to take the presence of the masks literally. In some cultures, people (especially sacred or important people) in the distant past are depicted as wearing masks or otherwise having their faces obscured. This is for various reasons. Sometimes it's meant as a sign of reverence and respect, other times it's meant to put the focus on their deeds rather than their appearance, and other times it's because the people in the present simply don't know what the person in the past really looked like, so their face is obscured or depicted with something that the artist believes symbolically best represents them. I think the sages being depicted with masks is supposed to a sign to the audience of just how long ago this is and how these beings are held in reverence in modern Hyrule. It's a storytelling device, not a literal depiction. At least, that's my theory about it.

Speaking of souls of the warrior in the depth, much like everything in the depth, the weapons they carry is a reflection of the region above them. Zora weapons under Zora territory, Korok weapons under the Great Hyrule Forest, etc. But what is fascinating to me is that Royal Guard Weapons, said to be developed by ancient Sheikah, are mainly found under Gerudo Highlands, the main territory of Yiga clan. Not to mention, we have Akkala Ancient Tech Lab on northeast, Hateno Ancient Tech Lab on southeast, and the ruins of Royal Ancient Tech Lab on northwest, so I think it is safe to assume that the Yiga clan hide out, located on the southwest, used to be a Sheikah Ancient Lab that mainly researched weapons. Another thing of note, is that you often find these warrior souls near a lightroot, and considering that lightroots are directly below shrines, I think it's safe to assume that the shrines were being protected by warriors who unfortunately lost their lives some times ago in the past.

No, the Yiga Clan Hideout used to be a Gerudo archeological site. The Yiga are simply Sheikah. Some of their ancestors may have helped develop the Royal Guard line, and the soldier ghosts are acknowledging that. The Yiga Clan are a bigger concentration of Sheikah than the Sheikah Tribe after all.

Mineru's Construct, when it appears and disappears, does so with blue Sheikah energy. We know it's not Zonai because the Shrine Crystals appear and disappear with green Zonai energy.

We need a game that focuses on the spirit of the hero. Hylia's chosen warrior and Hylia herself. Which most likely will look like Link and Zelda but it won't be them.

We've only got a possibly canon comic on them, so it could be fun. How far back would it go though? That time in the comic had Humans galore, but if you go years back you would have just Oocca instead of Humans. That's probably too far back.

Honestly I am convinced that *is* going to be a DLC. To me, them "confirming" that there won't be has no relevance. Why? Because Nintendo can't really disclose that kind of information in these interviews. So they say they can't. Plus, Penn's ending feels unfinished, and something is telling me he's not quite done yet. Maybe there will be a DLC involving him and Kass?

@kNOwYouAndMe Жыл бұрын
For some reason I feel like this story lacked a bit of seriousness. Im guessing its because everyone seems to have forgotten the Calamity and even Ganondorf doesnt mention it. I expected it to feel more connected. Like Ganondorf terrorizing Hyrule and everyone knowing it was him. He just kinda hid from you the whole time under the castle while everyone was like "Lol theres sky islands everywhere cool huh?"
@wace9174 Жыл бұрын
And the fact part of the main characters are pretty childish Tulin, Riju, yunobo so that also took away the seriousness too. I wish it was a lot more mature like twilight princess sure we had some snarky characters like midna but her dialogue wasn't as corny as the characters in totk.

As disappointing as it may seem, it is character development for Penn. He's not asking Link for help, but figuring out what to do next on his own. Perhaps in his restlessness, he will go elsewhere, or maybe even do what it took Kass a long time to do and settle down. It's clearly important to him to do this on his own, and on some level he must know that if he tells you, you'll try to help. That's not what he wants or needs, and that's okay.

4:53 it is implied these mask are actually the same masks the original sages wore during the imprisoning war, only covered up and upgraded with Sheikah technology, just like much of the zonai ruins in Faron are actually the original smooth white colored ruins built by the zonai, covered in gray stonework by ancient hylians
@xinpingdonohoe3978 Жыл бұрын
Which doesn't make sense when the Zonaite masks exist alongside the Divine Helms; Link equips one, the corresponding Sage ghost equips the other.
@no1guy825 Жыл бұрын
have you seen the masks....they cling to Link's head like glue. (Some helms wrap around Link's head way too close imo, some cutting out the presence of hair entirely, or needlessly tying it back). But, if they wanted to subtly show the Zonai foundation of the Sheikah helms they would. Ruins are one thing, but these helms are another
@Mauricio0973 Жыл бұрын
@@xinpingdonohoe3978 they really could be just an energy projection/hologram to show the connection/bond between Link and the sages, it doesn't have to be a real, physical helm worn by the avatars
@xinpingdonohoe3978 Жыл бұрын
@@Mauricio0973 even if that's the case, that wouldn't make the Sheikah ones the same. The Sheikah ones are made of that Sheikah material, and the Sage ones of Zonaite. There's no overlap of either. They couldn't exist as the same masks. Let's take the Rudania one. The Sage of Fire's mask is much bigger than the Vah Rudania Divine Helm since it's made for an adult Goron not a Hylian-sized individual. This means the Sheikah didn't build over the top since that'd make it bigger not smaller. That also means the Sheikah one wasn't contained inside as it wouldn't fit on the Goron's head.

I have a theory that Mineru is an incarnation of Kaepora Gaebora. Three main reasons I think this: 1. the owl motif throughout the spirit temple and the mission leading up to it. 2. in oot there is a time stone that states that Gaebora has the spirit of an old sage. 3. Their roles in the games are quite similar as they serve to guide the hero throughout his journey like Mineru does for Rauru and Link

What strikes me the most is each mask the Ancient Sages wears resembles the 4 Divine Beasts Vah Ruta, Vah Medoh, Vah Rudania and Vah Naboris. It makes me wonder if the Ancient Sheikah has been established in honoring the first king of Hyrule Rauru, and build their own technology as a successor of the Zonai Tech.

That's literally what's been said in the video. Minus your speculation whether or not the Ancient Sheikah have been established in honor of Rauru.
@xinpingdonohoe3978 Жыл бұрын
That doesn't add up. Sheikah existed long before the Zonai. The past Gerudo's green eyes and pointed ears places the Zonai era after OoT; the Sheikah existed *long* before OoT (and they actually aren't Hylian. They're non-human, as they lived on the surface when *all* humans were sent to Skyloft. HH pages 20 and 40 back up SS if you want a reference. They're known to hide away and blend in throughout most eras, so this simply seems to be another attempt at that).

What about Ganondorf’s surrogate mothers Kotake and Koume? I had that suspicions of their whereabouts since I first the two Golden Masked Gerudos in the brief moments in the memories and the names are written in every Gloom Weapons. It’s a shame that we will never get to have this version of Twinrova for DLC due to the cancellation. Thus, explore more of Ganondorf’s origin of how he rose to become the Gerudo King, his aunts taught him the arts of dark magic and military strategies, what drove him to conquering Hyrule, and Naboris defects her power-hungry tyrant in becoming the Ancient Sage of Lightning. So many wasted opportunities Nintendo could’ve considered doing in the Zelda franchise.
