@@4wheal In Skyward Sword Impa indirectly refers to Zelda's soul as being the soul of the goddess around when Ghirahim steals it for Demise. It's heavily implied in multiple games that the powers of the goddess are attached to the essence or "soul/spirit" of the goddess. Zelda is both a descendant of the goddess, as well as houses her soul(making her a reincarnation like Link). There's also multiple games where Zelda still possesses the power/essence of Hylia where the royal bloodline has been cut off/she couldn't be a direct blood relative. The series uses so many different terms for souls and reincarnation that it's honeslty hard to keep track of, but in-game and in supplemental materials all signs point to her housing the goddess's soul. It's also likely why Hylia never reappears outside of/separate from Zelda. All this is also backed up by the presence of other directly reincarnated deities(Din, Nayru, Farore)

None of the Zelda are rencarnations of each other hell in Zelda 1 and 2 you even find out they were 2 zelda alive at the same time whitch wouldn't make sense if they were rencarnations of each other. Hylia is outright said to be a serprate person in BotW and Totk as she has returned to being a full-on goddess dispute there being a Zelda alive and well. None of the games hints or claims that Zelda or the royal family have been cut off from the original or have been restarted in some way. Not every link is actually a rencarnation as the one in Wind waker has no connection to the past ones moatly because the spirit of the hero left the adult timline, and he basically creates a new one after proving hinself worthy. Where did you get the idea that the golden goddes are reborn from as nothing in the series even hints at that and hell Echoes of Wisdom if anything massive disproves that even more.

I find it very interesting that Link is actually mute in this game. He's not just intentially quiet. The game isn't just conveniently not showing us him talking. He's actually incapable of speaking because of his contact with the rifts as a child. It's a cool choice to take the make him straight up medically nonverbal after so many years of him not talking just being a quirk. They've been going out of their way to canonize Link's silence a lot lately. They had a reason in BOTW/TOTK as well. It shows me that his silence is something the devs actively care about being part of Link's character. Totally theory territory here but I do feel like they will have Link talk in this game at the end. They did say that his ability to speak might be restored when the rift situation gets fixed, so I could see them giving him a line to thank Zelda. It's as good an opportunity as ever given he's not the protagonist for once.

There are layers to "mutism" in the series, I guess that's confusing. Link traditionally speaks at least in all dialogue options we've had. In EOW though, he literally got his ability to speak taken away, while Zelda falls into the traditional case of technically speaking but we can't hear it.

I’ve been very impressed with how Echoes of Wisdom is with all its references while still feeling completely new. For example, while the layout of several areas is very similar to Link to the Past (which is cool to see some continuity), it feels far different from a Link Between Worlds’ way of remixing that Hyrule (and by extension, another “Dark” World/Still World connected to it). Not only is the map expanded to give us new areas, they tie it in with prior things to give us a sense of not just map continuity but LORE continuity; such as a Gerudo saying that the flying spinning tiles of ALttP were actually invented by ancient Gerudo to keep out intruders. So even things that have existed in old games for years without much explanation are being given rehashed explanations and lore, which is super cool to see them honor their past games and legacies more directly this way.

Silent princesses have a bit of blue on their petals... it could be a slight reference, but sadly they aren't the real deal.

I can’t wait for a Zelda centered game that has “main game” graphics. I plan to get this for my wife. I got her into LOZ and have gotten her SS, BOTW, and TOTK.

There's no "main game graphics" in Zelda, the teams never are scared to do something new visually (and EoW is literally a main game).

I'm about to finish the game and man, Echoes of Wisdom lore adds a lot to the story, can't wait to see all the theories.
@mjkhoi69612 ай бұрын
I can't stop thinking about the insane lore implications made by the post-5th dungeon cutscene (spoilers below) Because the three Golden Goddesses created the world as a prison to seal Null within, that makes him an entity even more ancient than *Demise,* the series' main "primordial evil incarnate" figure I'm curious about Null's relation with Demise, considering the latter rose from "the depths of the earth". Could he have emerged from one of Null's rifts?
@Diogo_72372 ай бұрын
@@mjkhoi6961 It's ok I finished the game 1 week ago. We fans theorize about these things but the devs themselves probably just make random lore stuff, I don't think they care about these implications. The goddesses created the world to imprison the Null, but we killed it like it was nothing, one of the easiest final bosses I've seen.
@Sn_A8152 ай бұрын
Also, I don’t know if anyone else noticed, but when you’re running from the rifts in the beginning once you take control of Zelda, the sound effect/song is very reminiscent of the battle music in twilight princess when you’re fighting monsters of twilight. I found that fitting because the rifts are very twilight realm like.
@AbeM.2 ай бұрын
Wright and Lefte are likely also a continuation of the recurring references to Will Wright in the handheld Zelda games. (He’s been referenced in Link’s Awakening as Dr. Write, and in Oracle of Seasons and Minish Cap as Dr. Left)
@bodacity2 ай бұрын
My favorite "Easter egg" is when, just before the final boss battle, Tri says it looks really dangerous up ahead, "but I know I'll be okay with you, Zelda." That reminded me of the opening scenes in Tears of the Kingdom when Zelda said they should go farther down toward the source of the gloom, "but I know I'll be safe with you, Link."

The way the ALBW carpet is propped up against the wall in a roll is *possibly* a reference to Ravio, since he replaces the carpet and shoves it to the side in the same way when he turns the place into a shop

FIRST DUNGEON SPOILER The fact that the might ore that link’s sword is made of is from the rifts is rly interesting. The constant swirls rly remind me of the zonai and Shiekah tech. Perhaps since Luburry seems to have no idea what it is and Impa and him seem to be the only Shiekah that look like and decorate like the ones in BOTW, that this takes place before BOTW? Or maybe the rifts transcend timelines or whatever. Idk bruh I just like theorizing.

I love that so many people around the small towns know Link and are worried about him. Some people say they never even saw Zelda, but Link is like a friend of all the common folk, while so far I've only seen people from Castle Town talk like they know the princess (granted, I'm still pretty early into the game). Just a neat detail.

Just finish the game yesterday. Had a lot of fun! For some reason, i can imagine a DLC/New game + where we can play Link. I mean, duh, everyone have the same thoughts, but hear me out. The way we play Zelda, i felt that we play Link at the end of his adventure. I mean, we start the game and the very first thing we do is to beat Ganon with 20 hearts. By watching this video and the fact that Link can sense every new rift, we can play the adventure of Link, like a prequel where we can beat all the dungeons in "normal world" We can find new items, since when we play Zelda, we didn't find anything, since Link had already got the items from the dungeon. I mean, there is potential for a bigger and long adventure for the game.

Something I noticed is that the map on Echoes is actually ALTTP’s map with just a few added things. If you look closely with a map side by side you can see the Desert Dungeon, Kakariko and the Lost woods, as well as the ancient ruins next to Hyrule castle. Also if you go through the right of the castle some bushes are in the same positions as the secret entrance in ALTTP
