To any unfortunate people who played that Rugrats game when they where younger, that game was riddled with horror nightmares. Not just the mentioned ghosts in this countdown. I was terrified of this giant purple gorilla who'd chase you in a creepy closed toy store. The creepy goose with grandpas teeth in its mouth, the mr. So, Endless Ocean is actual the spiritual successor to the Everblue series. I never played the original, but I did play and beat (I use that term lightly) Everblue 2. First off, it’s an amazing game that starts off incredibly laid back. It’s got fun music and it’s very JRPG-esque. But when you get to the cruise ship dive, things take a very dark and very terrifying turn. I remember at one point you’re diving in an old wooden ship, and for seeming no reason this creepy statue suddenly shifts and blocks your exit. Everblue 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. If you think endless ocean gets freaky, you’re in for a real treat

For me, trying to sneak past Dark Bramble's anglerfish in Outer is one of the scariest things I have ever done in a game because the anglerfish are big enough to swallow your spaceship whole, and they have incredibly acute hearing despite being blind, meaning that if you try to rush past them, you're just gonna die
@ultraflamegaming27722 жыл бұрын
I know I'm a year late to the party, but you should 100% make a remake of this video and include the Outer Wilds Dark Bramble. You can go look it up on Wikipedia, but to explain it bluntly, it's an empty white void with some weird vines growing. "Empty", except for the mountain-sized blind anglerfish that will screech and eat you. The anglerfish just fade in through the white fog, and you immediately know that you messed up when you see the bulb. The first time I saw that I ABSOLUTELY FREAKED OUT OF MY MIND. Great video btw!

Wait, you are scared of Lavender Tower? Well all I have to say is: "You're not the one..." But seriously though, the ghost girls through out the Pokemon series are probably scarier than Lavender Tower because they are completely unexpected. With Lavender Tower, you have Lavender Town to build up the atmosphere and recieve a notice that there is a tower containing ghosts; but with the ghost girls, you just go to a place and they are just there. Like with the Luminose City ghost girl (who I was quoting btw), find her by triggering a random cut-scene after going into a random office building and going up to the second floor... she appears without warning.

Nice to see Search for Reptar being mentioned here!! Creepiest game from my childhood. I have an obscure example here: Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer, a game where for the majority you're given a pleasant tour around various real world surfing locations, only for a major tonal shift at the end where you are challenged by a Tiki God to a surfing contest, complete with threatening voice over and suddenly you're surfing in hell on an ocean of lava. Not too scary looking back at it, but certainly an unexpected shock for those not prepared for it. You never even see the Tiki God, which makes it even creepier.

Oh man, Endless Ocean. That brings me back. I've always loved the ocean and marine life, and that game might've been one of the catalysts for that. And it definitely belongs on a list like this, because as relaxing and beautiful as the ocean is, it's also somehow even more terrifying than the emptiness of space. But forget the creepy idol that gives you a new hair color, I've got one better: The Abyss. You swim down into the deepest, darkest, most empty place on the planet. The only thing you have is a flashlight that can only illuminate a foot or two in front of you, and a magical wetsuit that someone prevents the water pressure from immediately crushing all of your organs. When you're in total darkness and completely vulnerable, that's bad enough. But when you're encountering things like goblin sharks and giant squids while the default music randomly jumpscares you, that's much worse. Don't get me started on the sequel. When don't need to conjure up something like Subnautica. The real ocean has enough terror already.
@lucas101044 жыл бұрын
Oh my god, endless ocean. I spent a lot of time playing this on a friend’s wii (they had one, I didn’t.) I never thought I’d see it here. That idol is a bit creepy, but honestly, the dark abyssal area was a lot scarier. The idea of Giant squids and whales looming out of the darkness meant I spent very little time down there.

The Samanta Myers house based on the movie Halloween from the game House Flipper 3. The haunted house in Markarth from Skyrim 4. A lot of sidequests from the Fallout series, but in particular part of the Old World Blues DLC from Fallout: New Vegas where you enter a building full of creepy killer skeletons in automated suits saying "Hey, who turned out the lights?" (admittedly they only say this if you have the Wild Wild West perk). 5. The Luna mission from Mass Effect 1 is pretty freaky, especially if you translate the binary code at the end. 6. Maybe I'm just a coward lol, but I got a bit freaked out when I ran into the aggressive slimes in a cave in Slime Rancher, an otherwise peaceful mellow game about raising adorable slime monsters. 7.
