The match I had last night. I had 5 and the other guy had 4. I had like 58 seconds left in the 3rd round. I was being aggressive and dominating most of the match. I automatically went to running out the clock. I was moving fast and shuffling. I heard my coach and my teammates yelling to move forward. My opponent was trying to touch my head and got called for touching my face. After the call I decided to be aggressive and move forward. I pinned him with 30 seconds left on the clock. Oddly enough, the guy was an amazing sport. I pinned him and was smiling like he just pinned me. We were both really happy and walked off the smiling. My coach got me off the mat and told how good I was and told me to never move backwards cause I'm too good to move backwards. When their school had to go and we all shook hands my opponent shook my hand grab my shoulder, smiling and saying good job. It really made for a great match. Remember to win with humility, lose with grace. It makes the sport more fun, and helps you become a better wrestler.
@veroguzman65315 жыл бұрын
Its only a good sport if ur good at it. If you dont contribute at all like me. It sucks. I try so hard and i let them down everysingle time
@alphasaiyan57605 жыл бұрын
Like my state championship match at 145lbs. I lost by 1 point. The dude got an escape at the last of the match. I placed 2nd. It sucked and 20 years later I still regret it lol. I was upset when I lost. The guy scouted me good. Knew what I was gonna do because I didn’t have very much of a technique “library” of you will. I was only a 2 and a half year wrestler. I had my go to moves. If use a double leg take down. Arm bar to a half or ride legs and go for a guillotine. I used a cradle sometimes. My coach was a granby style wrestler but I never really liked using granby. I was more of a straight up in your face kinda wrestler. It was fun and I wish I would’ve had the opportunity to start earlier. Also. To the guy that said he don’t contribute. That’s the beauty of the sport of wrestling. It’s a greedy sport. To hell with the team. It’s about you. It’s all about how far you can go. About what you can do. It’s not a team sport. If you can wrap your head around that concept then you will win matches. And as a side effect. Your team will benefit.

The legs oof that’s a tough one always end up falling but luckily the fatman roll saves me most of the time. I don’t reach back although someone on the team did that in a duel and we were all screaming at him to stop, the stepping backwards thing I’m staring to stop doing that I always try to shuffle my way out but it slips in sometimes. I don’t purposely hurt the opponent even if I’m mad I still play by the rules and after that we make small talk while we’re waiting to get that overpriced bag of hot Cheetos. The level change ……… ERROR 404 WEAKASS KNEES but I’m getting there.

Headass productions don’t worry too much about cutting weight. Focus on honing your technique and get mat awareness. Above all else , condition , condition , condition and after that condition some more. That is where you can beat your opponent. Get in such good shape that you can out wind and wrestle circles around the other kid.

# 1 sign you are a TERRIBLE wrestler is : You are tired/gassed after the first or second period. I decked so many people simply because all my coaches killed us with Running and shark bait drills. Shark bait was the Varsity Wrestlers would get surrounded by 3 or 4 other wrestlers and made to wrestle all of them HARD for 90 seconds, one at a time of course ! I came across strong wrestlers with good skills and good strength that were a total fish come the 3rd period because I always kept up the pressure.
