7 standards to look for in a man: Mostly, people in great relationships don't approach dating with a long list of features, but basically just look out for 7 traits: 1. Masculine - feminine balance (Someone not being able to access their MASCULINE side will have all sorts of issues: erratic behaviour, impulsive behaviour, insecurity. Someone not being able to access their FEMININE side will show: lack of empathy, struggle to be in the moment, to connect, to be present. ) The myth that the woman needs to have all feminine qualities and the men more masculine qualities is FALSE. It creates co-dependency. Only a union of two healthy balanced individuals will create a healthy balanced relationship. 2. He meets all his psychological needs in a healthy way. They are: affection, belonging, love, safety, connection, attention, significance, importance, rebeliousness etc. Some women prioritize their work/career for too long, and sacrifice love and connection, and end up doing "immoral acts" to satisfy those needs (sleeping with a guy you don't want, or with a married man) 3. Great sex (it can't make but it can break a relationship). 4. Does what he says and says what he does (integrity). Following this you remove: impulsive people, unreliable people, inconsistent, unbalanced. Otherwise you're setting yourself up for an anxiety-ridden relationship that will erode your self-esteem. 5. Healthy priority balance: can prioritize you (give you time, connection) and also deprioritize you at other times (for work, friends etc) 6. Understands healthy BOUNDARIES and personal responsabilty: basically THE skill for a great relationship. 7. How he treats you when he's at his worst: it takes a long time to come out. (Under massive stress) Great guys will chase you, even when they're already in a relationship. You will not forget of your traits (phisical attraction, connection, monogamy, phisical health) but do focus on these 7 that tend to be forgotten. Additionally: 1. No one is perfect, but if someone can acknowledge their shortcomings and action on them, that's good. 2. Don't forget on practical incompatibilities (wish for kids, not living in the same place) 3. A great guy will continuously tick off these 7, not just one time.

I think your point about whether the man is able to acknowledge where he falls short in any of the 7 qualities and whether he shows you signs of working on these or at least meets you half way, should be included as #8.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy that you’re Australia’s dating coach. I’m not sure how to break it to you this way, I live all the way in the United States and you are definitely my dating coach! Again, I want to reiterate that it is wonderful when I see you delivering your message and being so humble that you collaborate with so many other people that offer a similar message of love yourself first, create a life you love and share the lovely life you created with someone that you deserve... after they’ve earned that position, of course. Apologies for all the grammatical errors as I am a terrible text message person.

Mark you are so adorable...I love your simplified lists, clear communication, your smile when you poke the flowers, and your fabulous energy. Your girlfriend, whoever she may be, is one blessed woman! I am youthful at 71 and way more attracted to the vibrant energy of younger men than ones my age. The ones my age that have all these qualities are often married, Gay or seeking younger women. So It all sounds great and I think you are spot on .. it appears as though pickings are slim in Hawaii in my age range! Perhaps you know where the good ones are hiding out!

any video recommendations for how a woman can have a healthy balance of her masculine energy & for men their feminine energy? not just only in relationships, but life in general.

Damn, how did you match your shirt with that flower? LOL No. 7 is very important! The worst moments should indeed prove to you if your relationship is healthy and can go the distance. Sense of humor and intelligence are tops on my list. I agree that a long list is stupid. I do have a list of deal breakers, though. Smoking and cat ownership are on that list. God bless and thanks for your wise advice.

I strongly disagree with the sex aspect - at least for when one, or both, is asexual. I’m in my late 30s, a virgin, asexual, and in a deeply loving and fulfilling relationship with a wonderful man. The absence of sex has been one of the causes of past relationship endings, yes. BUT not all 7 of them. I’m open about my Asexuality before any relationship gets deep. If your partner truly loves you they will also respect your boundaries, and find other ways of finding fulfilment and physical intimacy. I feel it should also be pointed out that polyamorous relationships can also be deeply romantic, fulfilling, and work long term. Communication and mutual respect are key.
@cattheveganartist4 жыл бұрын
Eris my boyfriend is very much sexual. So I was not referring to only asexual couples. A relationship between a sexual and an asexual can work without the need for sex.

hey mark i’m so into your videos i don’t know how much i have watched they’re the best . my question is how high profile men especially in the entertainment industry (singers and actors) look at their “fans” from a point of state of attraction my experience was not so positive I saw in few of them that deep need for their fans to cry for them to get their attention “they like crazy fans” and to be quite honest I don’t feel like an elite compared to their status I feel like they’re up there unreachable mega stars. personally I dont think we’re all equal in that regard but I do believe in me and my intrinsic values..I like to hear your point of view. thank you

Hi Mark. I am in a long distance relationship. My boyfriends best friend commented suicide. He’s now pushing me away. We’ve been together for about 1.5 months. I know that’s not a lot but we had a great connection and know he’s worth it. I know he needs space because he does not like talking about it at all. It’s almost like he’s turned into a a different person and is not emotionally available. I need help with how I should deal with this situation. I want to help him and be there for him but I don’t know how to since we don’t even live in the same state. He still texts me and I still check up on him. Some days he seems all good but other days he’s not even going out of his house. This has been going on for about a month since he found out about his friends death. Please give me your perspective on this situation.

Hi Mark, maybe you can help me with a typical problem I am having. The first interaction is great. The guys say 'it's the best / most interesting' etc. Then they start to push for more in the 2nd interaction itself! One guy even proposed marriage! So when I request for slowing it down, they argue and then disappear or get angry.. what could I do differently? This has happened with the 4th man in the last month. PS - I am learning to be in my feminine and also setting boundaries, I can do each one independently, but to do them at the same time, i am not able to.
@sarahkercheval8964 Жыл бұрын
I feel like this is normal. I’ve been proposed to so many times I lost count 😅 Also, bcs of social media and movies etc, guys have a very unhealthy view of how a romantic relationship should play out and it’s like if you don’t jump right in headfirst they get mad or so sad that they jsut give up.
