i peaked 2323 and genuinely when i watch sting ray/java play spear i honestly feel like i understand max 30-35% of the weapon. "top 300" in the US but i dont even understand half of my main (hattori).. the difference between the 100th best player than the top 10 is MASSIVE genuinely bigger than that 100th best player and a low gold.. ridiculous gap

I also peaked 2300 & I really feel like I’ve only hit the iceberg of what to do with my main. I’ve coped by picking up a bunch weapons instead of being a one trick pony lvl 100 Jiro. It has actually served me pretty well since if I get an axe opponent or something I can counter pick with katars. I feel like I’m much better with weapons I’ve only now started playing. I actually can’t remember the last time I played my main and I am never going back. Maybe that’s just because Jiro is bad though.

@@RayceVR I think it’s also just that legends like hattori, jiro, Lin fei, etc etc were very good during the like.. 4 year long speed most important stat meta but now why bother doing that when dashing has only gotten more fluid and now you don’t really need the move speed.. you can move just as fast on say teros or xull (while on stage) but instead of having to win neutral like 9+ times to take the stock you can just ape brain ooga booga around with high strength and after like 4 neutral interactions you can take the stock.. so little room for error into high strength legends/heavy weapons.. move speed made it easier to not make too many mistakes but nowadays it’s not even like you’re faster than them on stage if their movement/mechanics are good

13:15 do not always read. Only read after observing the opponent’s habits. If you hit a neutral light at the start of the game simply react to what they do and punish it or if you don’t think you can in time punish what they do after. An example of this is nlight on sword. It doesn’t have a reliable way to read. Try standing still after hitting it. If they try to jump then dash jump nair. If you don’t think that will work (they might see you did nothing and try to fast fall) then dash dlight. That’s just an example. Also doing nothing and walking/dashing forward can be a decent pressure tool.

Tysm I sold my soul to play xull, i main cannon, and I never went for big 0- deaths or massive strings, so I never saw a use for Cannon dlight. But when I saw the chart and looked up sum follow ups, now I have a new kill conform in my arsenal 👍🏿 Edit: now i main seven shes just better xull

I switched from Mordex to Wu Shang, and I noticed my foundation Is so shattered. Your guides helped a lot. I hope you understood what I wanted to say cuz english is not my native language.
