I'm 72, now, and somewhere in my late 50's, the awareness of stoicism came into my life and helped me be more aware of my life, what I really wanted, and the waste of exterior influences that deterred me from being truly happy...my first "awakening" came when I accepted my position in life, to stop chasing $$$, and to deny the things that "society" said were the goals I needed. It was amazing to me, that when you "let go" of things your previously thought were "important", my world got so much larger. I now chuckle at the things occurring around me, yet, view some things as such a waste of our time and the negative effect it has on our lives......

The voice is perfect. It sounds wise and certain. The pace feels deliberate. There's a background music that could almost be confused with a hummm - that's cool. And I think there's something helpful about hearing these stoic ideas over and over through many similar videos, that makes the ideas set in. Important ideas have to be heard over and over. This is good sh*t.

The best thing I've ever done is to contemplate my death and be comfortable with its inevitability. It helped me with all the other concepts in the video that preceded it. It also helped me with anger, for it taught me that anger is only driving people from me and that moves me farther from life and all the good within. Thank you for your video's. They help me realize that I'm much more stoic that I was giving myself credit for, and that is liberating in ways that I find hard to put into words. So again, thank you for your work, I greatly appreciate it.

place of no pity, intelectualy honesty, moral consistnacy, so be it, whatever is our favvorite suffering facing death is one of my biggest gift (burn injury, cancer, car accident) each time it shown me diferently burn injury made cancer and car accident very easy tho "every micro second is heaven compared to burning alive" omg fire made my life so easy. now i can enjoy minimalism so easily. "im not burning im not burning" eat pasta, 1 bed 1 computer 1 spoon "im not burning im not burnign" 200 pushup "im not burning"

1-Maintaining cheerfulness Be happy and smiling regardless of the situation you are going through. Remember, everything is in your head. Accept it. Or remove yourself from the situation. 2-Diminishing concern for reputation Live your life. Do the best you can with what you have. Live with integrity. Forget the rest. You cannot control the outside world. 3-Developing the skill for endurance You are not entitled to anything. Just be quiet and keep doing what you need to do. Pain is created to gain control over people. Accept it. Forget it. No one will have control over you. 4-Letting go of people Make sure you aren’t attached to someone to a point where you become secondary, where you become someone else, where you don’t understand what’s happening because you are blind by the relationship. 5-Letting go of materials possession Don’t base your happiness on material you have or that you want to have. Understand that happiness is from inside regardless of the exterior. 6-Empowering our response Your response to people and situations define who you are. D ok my let anyone take control of your mind. “we are only slaves if we choose to be or fail to realize that we have the power to choose freedom” 7-Embrace mortality To come… lol
